Excellence demands excellence and Blizzard could have honored its great heritage in a better way. It remains one of the cornerstones of the strategy market, as well as an exceptional experience for any self-respecting video game lover.

Had Reforged been an optional and free graphical update, undersold and understated and a gift to fans, I doubt there would be any backlash. Instead, Blizzard suggested a revolutionary re-imagining of one of gaming’s most popular titles and failed spectacularly to deliver it. Warcraft III: Reforged does not diminish the core experience that made the game great, but its relatively modest improvements are coupled with some missing features and technical issues that make it a disappointment.

The remaster stays far below its possibilities and makes multiplayer worse than in the original. The single-player campaign is still great.

An inexplicably careless remaster, where none of the changes are unequivocally for the better and the experience is brought down further by numerous bugs and missing features.

Reforged is just a new way to play the campaign of one of the best games ever made… but that’s pretty much. Blizzard has a lot of work to do to fix this and deliver the remaster the original deserves.

Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

There’s nothing in Reforged that keeps me hooked in. I was sad playing it. Sad that it ultimately failed. That there are so many things that could have been done better – boldly and with more polish. [03/2020, p.48]

Music is improved, visuals, cinematics, etc. This is exactly what I expected and it was delivered.

On the 3rd missions in the campaign and already addicted just as I was when the game originally released. You know you have another gem when you can't turn off the game even after mythic/LFR Ny'alotha come out on the same day! Way to go Blizz!!!! Now all we can hope for is Warcraft 4 and a great new storyline. I CANNOT wait to get to the frozen throne expansion already!!!!! Almost 70 missions of single player content and can't wait to try some multiplayer after I'm done with the campaign. This is awesome. NO ONE does RTS like Blizzard.

I was looking forward to the updated story (tidying up the storyline to fix WoW lore + more insights into Arthas), updated cutscenes and graphics. The cutscenes are mostly the old cutscenes but re-rendered. I do admit that the in-game graphics look pretty good but as you're zoomed out all the time you don't really notice it. I've been a long time Blizzard fan and have overlooked many of their previous mistakes such as Blitzchung but the way they've treated fans this time is indefensible. The Blizzard I once knew is dead. I was at BlizzCon when this game was announced and have been counting the days until its release ever since. Sadly what launched even afterI was at BlizzCon when this game was announced and have been counting the days until its release ever since. Sadly what launched even after endless delays has been nothing short of a disaster. The game has ranged from a buggy mess to crashing upon launch. Blizzard has been desperately hot fixing issues left and right to get people's issues taken care of, the graphics are all over the place in terms of quality and it somehow manages to look less like a Blizzard game than the original.

Blizzard has been banning people for talking about how to get refunds, people who didn't even want the game are being forced onto a client that they didn't even pay for and losing tons of old features as a result, maps are immediately ending in defeat upon launch, and the list goes on and on and on.

Sadly the main things I was looking forward have all been gotten. There is no longer 4+ hours of new cinematics, much of the improved storyline has been gutted, I thought that the pre-rendered cutscenes were being redone but nope, and even the quality of the in-game movies has been massively downgraded from what they showed off at BlizzCon.

It's an unmitigated disaster. 0/10 would not recommend.

They put a tiny bit of "meh" effort into updating graphics and did nothing else to the game except remove content. Oh, and they did that IP grab to steal the hard work of anyone who builds anything in their map editor. Oh, and they are refusing refunds after not delivering what they promised (mine was refused as well). After enough screw ups, can we all just stop buying Blizzard titles period? The company wearing Blizzard's face now is a crappier version of EA. Expand
