FatShark has done a fantastic job of taking their first game and improving on every single aspect. The recurring theme of offering players a variety of tools, characters and enemies to face leads to a crescendo of unique moments that are all entirely player driven. While the difficulty spikes can be frustrating, part of the fun in Vermintide 2 is being against the odds and prevailing.

Hop into a match, lop off a few heads, gain experience and gear, and next time, lop off stouter heads while carrying a couple of grims. Vermintide 2 is exemplary of what the genre can become, and it's an especially great reason to grab some friends, sit down, and slay a few thousand foes.

In the end, if you fancy going for better loot, fight more powerful enemies, and unlock all kinds of cool items, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 seems like a dream come true. Even with the bugs and the slightly unbalanced system, it’s a game that still tricks me somehow into playing just one more map.

Vermintide 2 is a stylish, engrossing avenue into the horror and hilarity of the Warhammer Fantasy universe. Despite some small hiccups which you won’t shake, this game is sure to get you and your friends working as a team to survive the onslaught of the Skaven and Chaos hordes. With a variety of playstyles and in game tactics, this experience proves it is far more than a Left 4 Dead clone, and left me eager to jump back into this game.

If I were to compare Vermintide II to other titles, I would choose Left 4 Dead and Diablo, with Dark Messiah of Might and Magic coming in a close third place due to how combat feels. The game will eventually wear you down with its repetitiveness, because replaying scenarios is embedded in its design, but before it happens you’ll spend dozens of fun hours with it. [05/2018, p.42]

An extremely satisfying coop combat game with a very frustrating balance and loot system.

Even without microtransactions, loot boxes manage to spoil another potentially classic game, although the core combat and co-op atmosphere still shine through.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 tickles the very right spot, providing a satisfying mindless button smashing melee and ranged combat that will make sure to keep you and your teammates busy for an hour or so. But honestly, the low number of characters, lack of polish, repetitive gameplay and underwhelming graphics kind of lowers the excitement a bit. Expand

    This game is just mediocre.

Almost nothing changed from previous Vermintide, that is its main flaws are still not fixed. Yea, there are few new enemies, but still this game is clunky and unpolished.

Not to mention its really hard to find decent team. Either players playing this game are incredibly bad, or recruit level (the easiest one) is just too hard. I bet its partially both of them, because even in L4D (which was much more famous and known) there were abysmal players, but the problem in this one is just small player base (i live in eastern Europe, maybe in UK or USA its better). And i feel game is quite hard for new players- a lot of special enemies spawn, and there is a scarce of medkits. I dont mind hard games, i love for example DS series, but this is coop game and your fate depends on your teammates. I can be skilled player, but if special enemy grabs me from behind, only teammate can save me. And if they are bad its just exercise in frustration. Not to mention RNG **** as a team we fight boss near barn (rat ogre or the other shooting green posion), we are almost dead (no health or potions), but we can still kill him, but of course no, because suddenly 2 special enemies appear and kill us all. And its on easiest difficulty level. I wonder if somebody even tested it.

In conclusion- more of the same gameplay wise, frustration because of high difficulty level and bad players. I think i made a mistake buying this one, but its too late. If you dont have it and didnt like previous one or you think it was just ok but nothing special- pass over this one. Better play L4D again.
