BJ’s latest adventure is a wondrous exercise in how to tell a story, how to write a script, and how to shape characters that feel both human and superhuman simultaneously. It really is amazing that a big budget game like this got made at all. Thank goodness MachineGames got the chance – it’s one of this decade’s best.

MachineGames does it again - The New Order was terrific, and The New Colossus is pretty much the same level. The new Wolfenstein appeared in 2014 out of nowhere and became one of the best shooters ever. The sequel is very similar even though the "wow factor" isn't as evident. It is a joy to play such a big and well-made game that focuses only on single player. Bravo!

Shooter of the year! It plays great, looks spectacular and sounds amazing. What’s more, despite an apparent lack of seriousness it’s not afraid to bring up difficult subjects, mixing comedy and tragedy in a stunning way. It’s a ridiculously good game. [13/2017, p.30]
  4. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is one of the best first person shooter games so far and living proof that single player games are still alive and well.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is a very good solo FPS (which is already a rarity in the current game market) with a good story and a great sense of humor peppered by intense gunfights.

I’m torn between calling Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus brave or merely unexpected. The core of The New Colossus remains as good as, and largely unchanged from, the earlier game. It’s great, explosive, and violent. The other half, so to speak, the heavy emphasis on story doesn’t drive the FPS experience so much as shift your focus into directions that FPS games don’t normally go. That’s not to say that FPS games don’t tell a story or even a complex story (Bioshock told an incredibly involved story and even explored the extrapolation of a Randian economics as a political movement), but they rarely (AFAIK never) attempt to tell a story so full of sadness and self-examination. The two parts sometimes fit well, sometimes less than well, and I think individual gamers will react very differently to the result.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus takes The New Order and multiplies everything tenfold (especially the silliness and the amount of cut-scenes) when it should just take the original and carefully build upon its foundation, smoothing its rough edges and offering the very best Wolfenstein game ever. The result is a FPS that's fun, but also one that doesn't really know what it wants to be.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Ana karakteri B.J. Blazkowicz, General Strasse ile verdiği kavgadan çok ağır yaralarla birlikte kurtulmayı başarıyor fakat arkadaşlarının kurtulması için kendisi arkada kalmayı göze alıyor ve arkadaşlarına bulunduğu üssü bombalamasını söylüyor. Sonrasında ise kendini yavaş yavaş ölmeye hazırlıyor fakat Blazkowicz’in arkadaşları Blazkowicz’in fedakarlık yapmasına müsade etmiyor ve geri dönüp Blazkowicz’i kurtarmayı seçiyorlar.

My experience has been excellent so far.

So much better than the mindless shooter I was expecting. (I haven't played Wolf: New Order or New Blood yet, so I wasn't ready for the new iD's new Wolf games)

This game addresses so many current social and political issues and smashes them in the face.

Just go get the free demo. If you don't like the demo, fine. But I'm pretty sure a lot of people with be hitting the buy button when they see this isn't mindless Halo, Call of Duty, Destiny dreck. In the demo alone they address the treatment of the physically handicapped, body image, fascism, racism, religious persecution, and PTSD issues.

Much better story in here than I expected. Deep ties with characters, world history, etc. Dig in! There are actual characters, story and ideas contained in this game! Shocking, i know.

System wise for the PC: smooth and stable for me. (i5-3570k, 16GB, GTX1080) Technically excellent, very stable, very beautifully done.

BTW, There are no damn loot boxes in here!

Welcome back to games with real single player content!

Gameplay is smoother than before and I liked it the most, the sad part about gameplay is that guns dont feel powerful and you end up using only one gun. Story is interesting but not in a good sense, I dont know if I liked it or not its questionable but I enjoyed the game anyway. Has some good moments. Expand

The visuals are beautiful, but you are constantly relegated to tunnels and alleyways. You almost never get an opportunity to experience them.

Gameplay is repetitive and frustrating. The difficulty of the game doesn't stem from problem solving and some kind of skill cap, it stems from poor level design, enemies that constantly appear out of thin air behind you, and playing a character that seems to be wearing paper for armor.

The story is cliche, but ok. My issue is that well over half the bloody game is wound up in long cutscenes or wandering around a horribly confusing U-boat doing errand missions.

The fights are frustrating as you are constantly running around looking at the floor pounding the pick up key to grab armor shards and what not... you hardly get to spend any time actually shooting.

As mentioned before, the level design is really piss-poor and horrifically un-intuitive. Half of the missions have you crawling through endless vent shafts or cloned hallways trying to find some obscure room or button. It's really not that fun.

All in all, a game that carried so much potential, but ultimately fails to deliver.
