So if you collect everything, the game is nice but it's nice to have a few patches to fix but it's nice.İts good for me either… Expand

   What i really like is the handling model, since i do not own a steering wheel, this game feels great with a controller.

   If you want arcade racing I suggest hands off.

   WRC 7 has a very solid foundation to be a good, even a great rally game, but it lacks polish in some crucial key areas.
   
   First off, theWRC 7 has a very solid foundation to be a good, even a great rally game, but it lacks polish in some crucial key areas.
   
   First off, the handling and car physics are very good and a big step above from previous entries by Milestone and Kyloton. Sense of speed is great once you build it up. Cars are well modelled and sound good too. Only weakness still remaining are the crash physics, there's just no feel or sensation when you mess up the car, rolling your car over isnt that satisfying, the damage on the car is not apparent at first, even after bigger impacts, it rather builds up over the stage/es but it still feels rather insignificant in terms of how beat up the car looks and feels. Still, once you damage key components of your car, you do feel it and it changes the way you need to drive, its just the visual sensation of crashing thats missing.
   
   Also on PC, atleast in my experience, the game has an issue that would be game breaking for many people, during the stages game can often stutter, freeze for even up to 5 seconds and often causes you to crash, lose control and eventually lose the stage. I searched for a fix, i saw people on Steam forums having the exact same problem, but in the end i found no solution and had to suck it up. There's also the traditional optimization problem of bad frame rates, it varies rallly to rally, but in one country you can be having 60 fps, in next you might have drops below 30 fps negatively affecting your driving performance. Guess thats why they locked it to 30 fps on consoles, which doesnt do a fast paced rally game any favors.
   
   A big strong point for WRC 7 are the rally events. All locations feel unique, each has their own characteristics and they look beautiful, distinct from each other, as they should. Roads feel believable, they arent artificially widened and require skill, precision and control, road sides will punish you if you try to extend your line too much, it simply feels proper and rewarding. The extended stages are a pure treat and a challenge in endurance. There's also plenty of options for time of day and weather. However an issue lies in the fact that each event only has about 4 unique stages and during the rally they repeat. You have to complete one stage even up to 3 times depending on event, developers didnt even bother to make you drive them in reverse which would've helped them to not feel as repetative. Also there's an issue in stages where you drive against another car, which is the opponent car can finish before you, but you still come out on top in time sheet and win the stage, its very immersion breaking.
   
   Its also nice that podium celebrations after each rally, if you make it into top 3, have returned, though i still feel they could be improved with more sense of occasion, same with end season podium, Evolution Studios did this quite well back on PS2 WRC series. Also cinematic replays could use some improvement, there's too much onboard camera action in that mode, not enough roadside camera action.
   
   In the end its a still a decent rally game experience even with its faults. Hopefully if Kyloton ever gets to make WRC 8 they get their stuff together because they were really onto something potentially great with this one.… Expand

   Why the 6/10 ? Simple: way, way, WAY too many bugs.

   Having been a passionate player of Dirt Rally, WRC7 certainly feels like a downgrade.
   
   At first launch, the game proposes a driving test to assess your performance and advise a difficulty level and settings (like automatic or manual gearbox). Since it was the first time playing this game, I got a score of 40, and the game advised me the easiest set of parameters, which is a real joke knowing I have spent 90 hours on Dirt Rally. After being thrown in the menu of the game, I went back to the test and easily got a 94 scores within like 30 minutes, and got advised a completely different set of parameters. In my opinion, this proves the test to be utterly useless.
   
   Gameplay-wise, WRC7 definitely feels like an easier, more arcade rally game compared to Dirt Rally. It still probably takes a bit of time for a player new to rally games to get used to the responses of the car, but for experienced players the gameplay will quickly feel simple. Cars are rather stable (they don't drift out of control) compared to those in Dirt Rally; drifts feel nearly the same on every type of surface. That is baffling for a rally game.
   The car control does not give a real feeling of driving a rally car. Very few impacts of the wheels on the ground are simulated which makes the driving really smooth, like we were controlling a hovercraft and not a car.
   
   I notice several problems in the communication of the co-driver: some indications are given all in a row independently of the speed of the player. As a result it becomes difficult to anticipate multiple turns in a row.
   Many elements modeled in the game has a weird physical response. For instance, vines are rock-solid in the German Rally...
   
   The career mode is filled with useless features, such as the team's morale (no influence whatsoever on your career, just a performance metric in disguise), gimmicky chats with your competitors or press headlines. These are useless, when not wrong (once got a "As planned, Baltifru does not rank 3rd or higher" headline after finishing the Rally of Catalunya 1st).
   
   I've faced a few problems with the interface. For example for the driving test, if you destroy your car, you're just sent back to the main menu, with a loading time. If you want to retry the test, you then have a second loading time to get back in. Why not proposing a "retry" option straight away ?
   
   I should also mention that the game doesn't handle alt-tabbing very well, and regularly crashes with logs ready to be sent when... closing the game !
   
   Finally and probably the worst: I experienced various, very surprising (yet crippling) bugs:
   
   - When I first launched the career mode, I had right away a time recorded (I'd say 20 minutes or so) for the first rally. I first thought it was a trick from the devs to make the first season unwinnable, but then I got harsh critics from the press after only 2 or 3 special stages and I was like wtf... I started a new career and it started with 0 min for everybody. Huge bug !
   - I once crossed the finish line and the stage didn't end !! (second special stage in Rally Sweden) I did the stage again the exact same way and the stage ended...
   - Last but not least, the bug that convinced me to quit the game and give this negative review: the car spawning diagonally to the road at the starting countdown
   
   Even without bugs, the game is already much below Dirt Rally. With the bugs... it is simply an average game.… Expand

   Got the game on Amazon Gaming. Spent hours trying to figure a bug where the xbox controller can't be remap and the current control mapping setGot the game on Amazon Gaming.    I got it for free and I am very disappointed. I would not spent a dime on this on Amazon Gaming. As the score is not so bad, probably it means it works on other platforms.… Expand
