Sandbox game your thing? You must give this game a go. Crafting, Building, Terraforming, Skills it has it all.
Building is the strongest part of this game and it is massive. You can build huge castles or tree houses or whatever you can think/dream. Bridges out over water, rivers, or over cliffs. There is so much you can do with building its next to unlimited. Pretty much if you can dream it you can build it. It's not as detailed as the block by block of minecraft but it has very good options.
Terraforming but NO tunneling (sad face). You can make dirt ramps or lower ground or build huge piles of it, but no making tunnels.
Crafting system, oh the crafting system in this game is great. Everything you use or build is crafted. So all your tools, armor, weapons, walls, carts, fire pits etc etc all crafted.
Crafting of armor is very very detailed and there are over 1000 recipes in it. Tool crafting is just under 1000 recipes. I think you get the idea of how many recipes you can do. Plus that's not even counting that they are basic type recipes. So they might say it needs a rock, a stick, and twine. You can use any of the 10 different types of rocks for it, and each one has a different effect on how the item will be affected. It is very detailed.
There is scavenging system in game but it's not like you normally would think, its how you find items in the world from the "old world". So you might pick up some metal sheets, or a pick head or a recipe of how to build a wall or tool. It's a very fun system.
Farming and Cooking are very in depth. Farming, you need to water, you need to remove weeds, and pests, and you need to fertilize them. Then based on how well you did all that will make it grow faster and better, then you harvest. Which based on your stats and skills gives you the harvest amount and quality.
Quality of items in Xsyon is very important. You Will want to get higher quality (QL) because it affects the items you are crafting in many ways. Like durability, QL of the item you are making, bonuses the items give, how hard they hit etc etc.
QL is affected by your stats and skills and the QL of the item or tool to start with. Very in depth.
Combat system is good but I would love to see more. Like special powers/attacks. Healing. Right now you have action based combat where you swing a direction and speed which gives you damage and area you are hitting. You also have attacking from the front (0% bonus) side, (25% bonus) and back (50% bonus). Being hit from the back or side give a bonus to damage of the attacker.
You have HP bar, Energy bar, Food, Water, and Power bar.
Energy bar is like stamina and used for attacks and sprinting, walking, crafting etc etc.
Power bar is used for strength of attacks. You charge up your power bar to do up to 180% damage, if you don't charge up, you only do 50% damage.
Trade system, you have trade "Totems" which are like local markets. You post something and anyone can see it at another trade totem, however, they must buy it at your totem and pick it up. Makes up for regional economy.
You also have a quest totem which works a lot like the trade totem, however, most people don't use the quest totem much.
Mutants/Animals/Zombies
There are no real hard NPCs like you will find in big WOW type games. However, we do have mutants and zombies.
Zombies are cool they will get stronger based on how much they've killed other players, and they take the dead player's gear and USE IT. So if someone dies to a zombie that had bone armor on and using a club. That zombie will take the armor and the club, and be wearing it and USING THE CLUB? How cool is that? Super cool I tell you. Then you can loot other players gear once you kill that zombie.
Mutants are like crossbred animals that are massively strong. They look super cool and give good bonuses to the materials you get from them when you harvest them. (Mutant leather armor anyone?)
The normal animals are for training skills and getting basic armors with minor bonuses. Good system. You get bones, meat, hides etc from them. Very good crafting system.
Animals are strong in this game than most games. A rat can kill a new player that doesn't have combat stats. (STR, FORT, AGI) in just 2 or 3 hits. So be wary and test out how hard something hits you and heal up before just trying to fight stuff. Remember animals are stronger because of the radiation in theory.
Storage and Carts.
Carts are cool you can pull them behind you and they lower the weight of items by 80% so very useful.
Storage in this game is unlimited pretty much, but there are a few options. You have buildings you can make that store baskets, and you can use baskets for storage, you can drop them and they don't take up much room.
Tribe area is your base, you can terraform there and build there. You also respawn at your totem. To get a larger area, you need more people to join your tribe. The tribe areas can get pretty huge. Max is 400m x 400m

I am writing this review to let everyone know what i like/love about Xsyon.
You start out in a world of unknown fate (be it the pvp or the pve server) with just the item's given to you at the start. You have to chose your destiny whether it is to work with others and help build a massive empire or go it alone and be a lone survivor and build your own empire. You will have to work for your food and materials to build, craft and cook. A little hard work will give you the feeling of accomplishment especial when you have build your first building or crafted your first set of armor. In all this game is about survival nothing is handed to you without a little work.

War has destroyed life as we know it. The Apocalypse is at hand! Will you fight for justice to stop the chaos or will you join in the ranks of evil to bring upon the ultimate destruction of the earth?
Modern technology has consumed itself. War has ravaged the planet, opening a rift to another reality. The survivors of the grisly destruction rise from the ashes of ruin to encounter a world that has changed. A world that once existed only in the realm of mythology, legend and imagination has become concrete and very real. You have forgotten the past and are welcomed by a new primitive future.
With the disruption of the planet, ancient gods awake to once again exert their powers over the earth. The lords of nature have revived the wastelands, eradicating and subverting the remnants of modern technology. Creatures of mutation and mythology now populate the land. The ways of swords and sorcery have replaced the path of science and progress.
You are a survivor. Your youth was spent lost in times of war. Your memories of the past with its machines, computers, bright lights and buildings reaching for the skies are vague and ever fading, a distant and unreal dream. You grow accustomed to ancient ways that now once again rule the world.
The new world hangs in a moment of uncertainty. Though the rift in reality has called forth many benevolent gods and creatures, this truly is the time of the Apocalypse. The seven seals are about to be broken. The Four Horsemen loom over the land awaiting their chance to spread destruction and chaos. Devils and angels vie for control of their earthly battlefield.
You know nothing. You’ve forgotten the past and have yet to learn the future. You are a lost soul in a strange barren world with little more than the shirt on your back. Little do you know you are destined to become a hero.
Your path is one of choice. Will your actions help heal the planet or will you play a part in its ultimate doom? What will be the destiny of the Xsyon, the promised land?

I love the detail how in depth it is and how active the development is. Imagine mine craft but no more realistic no blocks and crafting and scavenging take a bit of skill. Imagine a game where you can be as sociable as you like either a loner or with other there no requirement either way. The environment is awesome the music decent and the detail to the system is awe inspiring.

I played this for about 1 hour so far
& i can say that this game is amazing
i love how in-dpeth the game is & in my honest opinion the game looks great for an indie mmorpg
i am highly enjoying the game so far. & i recommend this game to mmorpg fans
i give this game an 89 out of 100

Over all this game is old and outdated. The Graphics and sounds and the User Interface are all horribly done in this game. The community is extremely small and consists of at max about 200 active players. The game itself really isn't much **** and is more **** fest all you do is grind up skills and it gets boring really really fast! The skill cap on this game is 100 and your skills go up by 0.01 each time you use them or if you are lucky sometimes you may go up by 0.02. This game has been around since March 2011 and is being developed only by ONE developer now all the others have either quit or been fired. The development is so slow with this game and is pretty much non-existent. Over all this game is nothing more than a waste of money and should be avoided. The game is just poorly designed overall and is an utter waste of time. DO NOT buy this game!
