Sandbox game your thing? You must give this game a go. Crafting, Building, Terraforming, Skills it has it all.

It's not as detailed as the block by block of minecraft but it has very good options.
Terraforming but NO tunneling (sad face). You can make dirt ramps or lower ground or build huge piles of it, but no making tunnels.
Crafting system, oh the crafting system in this game is great. Everything you use or build is crafted. So all your tools, armor, weapons, walls, carts, fire pits etc etc all crafted.
Crafting of armor is very very detailed and there are over 1000 recipes in it. Tool crafting is just under 1000 recipes. I think you get the idea of how many recipes you can do. Plus that's not even counting that they are basic type recipes. So they might say it needs a rock, a stick, and twine. You can use any of the 10 different types of rocks for it, and each one has a different effect on how the item will be affected. It is very detailed.
There is scavenging system in game but it's not like you normally would think, its how you find items in the world from the "old world". So you might pick up some metal sheets, or a pick head or a recipe of how to build a wall or tool. It's a very fun system.
Farming and Cooking are very in depth. Farming, you need to water, you need to remove weeds, and pests, and you need to fertilize them. Then based on how well you did all that will make it grow faster and better, then you harvest. Which based on your stats and skills gives you the harvest amount and quality.
Quality of items in Xsyon is very important. You Will want to get higher quality (QL) because it affects the items you are crafting in many ways. Like durability, QL of the item you are making, bonuses the items give, how hard they hit etc etc.
QL is affected by your stats and skills and the QL of the item or tool to start with. Very in depth.
Combat system is good but I would love to see more. Like special powers/attacks. Healing. Right now you have action based combat where you swing a direction and speed which gives you damage and area you are hitting. You also have attacking from the front (0% bonus) side, (25% bonus) and back (50% bonus). Being hit from the back or side give a bonus to damage of the attacker.
You have HP bar, Energy bar, Food, Water, and Power bar.
Energy bar is like stamina and used for attacks and sprinting, walking, crafting etc etc.
Power bar is used for strength of attacks. You charge up your power bar to do up to 180% damage, if you don't charge up, you only do 50% damage.
Trade system, you have trade "Totems" which are like local markets. You post something and anyone can see it at another trade totem, however, they must buy it at your totem and pick it up. Makes up for regional economy.
You also have a quest totem which works a lot like the trade totem, however, most people don't use the quest totem much.
Mutants/Animals/Zombies
There are no real hard NPCs like you will find in big WOW type games. However, we do have mutants and zombies.
Zombies are cool they will get stronger based on how much they've killed other players, and they take the dead player's gear and USE IT. So if someone dies to a zombie that had bone armor on and using a club. That zombie will take the armor and the club, and be wearing it and USING THE CLUB? How cool is that? Super cool I tell you. Then you can loot other players gear once you kill that zombie.
Mutants are like crossbred animals that are massively strong. They look super cool and give good bonuses to the materials you get from them when you harvest them. (Mutant leather armor anyone?)
The normal animals are for training skills and getting basic armors with minor bonuses. Good system. You get bones, meat, hides etc from them. Very good crafting system.
Animals are strong in this game than most games. A rat can kill a new player that doesn't have combat stats. (STR, FORT, AGI) in just 2 or 3 hits. So be wary and test out how hard something hits you and heal up before just trying to fight stuff. Remember animals are stronger because of the radiation in theory.
Storage and Carts.
Carts are cool you can pull them behind you and they lower the weight of items by 80% so very useful.
Storage in this game is unlimited pretty much, but there are a few options. You have buildings you can make that store baskets, and you can use baskets for storage, you can drop them and they don't take up much room.
Tribe area is your base, you can terraform there and build there. You also respawn at your totem. To get a larger area, you need more people to join your tribe. The tribe areas can get pretty huge. Max is 400m x 400m… Expand
