Filled with enough espionage, illegal arms trade, intrigue and terrorist activity to make James Bond run for cover. [Feb 2005, p.63]
At the end of the day, a very basic beat em' up. It's just kick, punch, shoot, with the odd focus moves here and there to break up the action.

alot of trolls talk about the fixed camera and controls by acting like that was a problem when jet li's rise of honor game has the same analog control scheme and the same fixed camera but don't apply these same so called "complaints" to that game and rating it higher because reasons.
none of these critics shouldn't be listen to and ever be taken seriously because of their logic and double standards. they always going to find something to complain about. tbh alot of it is just riding off of what someone else said, because they can't form their own opinion. Anyway, i love the theme, it's very iconic and legendary in it's own right. it's a very 007 and Luc Besson-esque meets tekken force & jet li's rise of honor.
it expanded on nina and anna's backstory, (that they needed for a long time.) this is one of those underappreciated games.

Death By Degrees is such an underrated game.
It has it's flaws yes, such as long loading times and sometimes bad camera angle, but the gameplay once mastered is a ton of fun. Tekken's Nina fans will love it and others should give it a chance too. It's a game that could have had a lot of potential.

Gamers will tire of each and every gameplay mechanic long before the game has reached its completion, and the rest of the presentation—i.e., the story and the characters—is not compelling in the least.
Stick with "Tekken 5."
There’s nothing done well here that wasn’t already done in the Force modes, which is quite sad.
If the mindless action of mashing your analog stick to death won't bore you into using Death by Degrees as a coaster, the horrible soundtrack will at least guarantee you will make use of the mute feature on your TV.

A decent game that was too harshly judged. Yes the controls are awkwardly placed, BUT the game is still very playable. This wasn't meant to be a serious beat-em-up. Its more like a Resident Evil 1-3 or a Silent Hill with exploration, item collecting, and some health management. The cruise ship location is massive and just fun to explore. There are plenty of saves to find. There are plenty of rooms and objects to examine without out them being too hidden or too hard. The special attacks are kind of fun. Its pretty obvious this wasn't meant to be too serious, but it is fun in its own way. This game really does have some of the best graphics the PS2 is capable of. If you think of this like an older adventure game with a bit of combat you will like it. Its not an FPS or button masher, and I think people thought it would be. There is some voice acting and story here, but its pretty silly. Right now I'd rate it 7. Decent game and you should probably buy it if you like cinematic games and cool places to explore. It will really take you away from reality.

To be blunt - Death by Degrees is a badly designed piece of **** A third person brawler wanting to be Resident evil AND Metal Gear Solid at the same time, except the camera and controls are so bad they do nothing but hinder the player and make certain actions difficult or impossible. There's a good game in here somewhere; likely the removal of the ridiculous thumbstick-controlled directional combat would improve matters no end, but then there's the obnoxious load-times that appear every. single. time. you open a door, select your menu, or do anything. Crap, crap, crap.

and amazing how this game is from the same developer that made the amazing URBAN REGIN only this game here is crap with a horrible camera. if it had urban gameplay this game would be pretty cool.
Quite possibly he will only like this crap that likes Nina (Tekken)

Nina est belle et elle est blonde ! il y a de jolies cinématiques avec Nina ! et... quoi ? un jeu ? non j'ai pas vu de jeu. C'était une sorte de truc euh un machin dont la tentative d'interactivité est déficiente. Pauvre Nina. Les blondes ne devraient pas faire de jeux vidéo. Retourne repasser, bordel !

Who likes this game? This is the worst tekken game ever (yeah, it's kind of a spinoff, but still) the gameplay it's stupid, the controls are impossible to understand, the cutscenes are way too long and they can't be skipped and saving is so f%#€ing hard. This game isn't worth your money, even if you pay like 0.01$
