With a solid single-player experience and a multiplayer game that is as much fun locally as it is online, Godzilla is just a fantastic game. I've played this longer than any other fighting game in my collection and I still enjoy going back for the occasional monster mash, even after I have long since unlocked everything.
It's simultaneously better and worse than the original. [Holiday 2004, p.68]
This is by no means a real fighting game, it lacks combos, character depth and added storyline features and cut scenes, which could have potentially created a stunner, but overall, it's a fun –but limited- game.
This sequel boasts larger battle arenas, including a surprisingly convincing New York City.
Hardcore Godzilla fans will appreciate seeing the decent renderings of some of their favorite monsters here, but they're unlikely to be terribly impressed by the action itself.
Only good for skyscraper mashing romps with buddies (you'll only play the single-player mode to unlock goodies), and even that grows tiresome quickly.
It's a shame that cinema's most iconic monster doesn't get the towering experience he deserves.
