Okami shames them simply by being the genuine article: A stunningly gorgeous and unique masterpiece that effortlessly blends art and storytelling with puzzles and amusement. Miss this landmark effort at your peril. [Oct. 2006, p.78]
  2. Okami’s single player campaign is one of the most ambitious we’ve ever seen, and with its score of collectible items, trees to save and animals to feed as well as characters you like and a story you’ll want to revisit, this is a game you could easily wind up playing twice or thrice.
  3. The replay value for this game is immense as the storyline, sidequesting, and searches for those really rare items just never gets old.
  4. Simply one of the best games to come out.
  5. What Okami ultimately offers is a satisfying adventure with memorable characters, intuitive play mechanics, and an astonishing visual presentation. Simply, it’s a ton of fun to play.
  6. Okami's stunning good looks give it the appearance of a cross between a cartoon and a traditional Japanese ink-and-watercolor painting, and perhaps best of all, the game keeps going and going for much longer than most other games like it.

I have to say, in terms of presentation, Okami by far is the bet game I’ve ever seen...However, games are meant to be played. And honestly, between the humor that falls flat at times, the worst plot twist I’ve seen in a game since college, and the sheer lack of challenge in the game, Okami falls well short of greatness.

Well, Sony finally has itself a Zelda game. Basically, take the visuals of Viewtiful Joe and combine them with the wolf sections of Twilight Well, Sony finally has itself a Zelda game. Basically, take the visuals of Viewtiful Joe and combine them with the wolf sections of Twilight Princess, and you have Okami. The story is great, the graphics are stunning, the gameplay...is a little repetitive, other than the awesome brush techniques, but still...Okami is lengthy but well-paced, and deserves to be played. Way better than any other adventure game the PS2 has, and almost as good as a Zelda title. At $40, you're not going to be let down. Expand

I haven't played this in years and never will again but couldn't believe the reviews. I was really excited to play it, I played it for about 5 hours the first night and woke up the next day and put it on eBay. It is by far one of the worst games I have ever played. So boring, I like boring adventure games but this was a joke. Annoying character with you the whole time. By annoying I mean unbearable, wanted to rip it from the screen and smash it in. Then the brush that doesn't work very well at all I can't understand the high scores. I gave it a 1 for looking nice but there was nothing else to like for me to rate it higher. Sitting through 5 hours of Hatsune Miku, mixed up with a bit of Hello Kitty and a bit of Hannah Montana thrown in for good measure would have been 5 hours better spent than this. Possibly my least favourite game ever made. Expand
