SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs Gameplay Movie 3

  1. The controls are tight, the action tense and the graphics crisp. And, most importantly, lag was rarely an issue, even in 32-player firefights.
  2. One of the best games in the crowded squad-based war genre. It has a few off and online glitches and bugs, but overlooking them there's a ton of authentic and addictive war gaming to be had.

With its breathtakingly expansive environments, unparalleled musical mastery and enough gadgetry to make Sam Fisher look about as deadly as Action Man with a broken arm, SOCOM 3 both dazzles and delights.
  4. SOCOM 3 has the distinction of being the best online offering the system has ever seen. Those without a PS2 network adapter need not enlist, but for the rest this game is practically a tour of duty.

Visually, it's understandable that Zipper had to make some compromises in exchange for the larger levels. As a result, SOCOM 3 looks no better than previous installments to the series and in some areas less so.

Definitely a decent game, but if the franchise doesn't evolve, it runs the risk of losing its crown as the dominant PS2 shooter. [Dec 2005, p.166]

It's like any flat stretch of road in the country, nice and smooth with some decent scenery that gets you where you have to go. [Jan 2006, p.89]

Best military game ever on PS2, this game is closer to a simulator than a casual game

Excellent all round. Zipper has listened to its fans and have made an excellent addition to the Socom library. Enjoy!

This game is godly. It has large combat with vehicles and small combat with no vehicles giving you the best of both worlds. The only downsideThis game is godly. It has large combat with vehicles and small combat with no vehicles giving you the best of both worlds. The only downside is some of the small maps are poorly designed, but most of them are great and so much fun. Very challenging and tactical game modes too. Expand

Just plain fun. I could go on SOCOM bingers for hours at a time online. Tons of maps. Easy to meet new friends online. Too bad the cheatersJust plain fun. I could go on SOCOM bingers for hours at a time online. Tons of maps. Easy to meet new friends online. Too bad the cheaters have to ruin it. RIP SOCOM. I wish my PS3 would play the old PS2 disks. Maybe for kicks Ill pick up another PS2 but Id rather see the original SOCOM games rewritten for PS3. Expand

I've owned a Socom game since the day the original Socom was released. I can't believe I'm saying this but this game I've owned a Socom game since the day the original Socom was released. I can't believe I'm saying this but this game isn't fun. Take it from me. I would rent this before buying. Graphics are hard to look at.They are maybe a step above the original Tomb Raider. Game play has changed dramatically from S2. Zipper dropped the ball on this one. But then again they made a game for a system that is on it's last legs. Expand
