Word of advice to the developers: When creating the next installment of this franchise, do what you did with the presentation end of things, and almost completely rip-off "Grand Theft Auto," and their gameplay. It’ll make this sort of title appeal to almost everyone.
-
Official U.S. Playstation MagazineA great game for the over-30 crowd, though, which is something we don't get to say often. [Dec 2004, p.108]
-
Game InformerIf "Driver" married its cousin, there's a good chance the spawn of said union would look a lot like The Dukes of Hazzard: Return of the General Lee. [Oct 2004, p.129]
-
The car never really feels grounded, but rather appears to float at a high rate of speed. It doesn't take much more than too much gas and too sharp a turn to start spinning, adding unnecessary aggravation to some of the longer missions.
-
Its not a fun game, and what little is here gets real old real fast.
-
Here, the game is little more than an excuse to take a tour through Hazzard County in 3D and drive recklessly. This would almost be appealing, but problems quickly pop up here, there, and, you guessed it, everywhere. The biggest problem is with the General Lee's control and it goes on from there.
-
How many rednecks does it take to enjoy The Dukes of Hazzard: Return of the General Lee? Three! One to play it, one to drink his beer and one to shoot the player when he asks to be put out of his misery. Unless youre a die-hard fan, look elsewhere.
