The best feature of the game, by far, is the original script, story line, and depth the game goes into for the London Underworld and how easily it sweeps you into the whole genre.
It’s just that The Getaway: Black Monday is no better and no worse than the original, and for a sequel, that's a crippling issue.

This is one of the best games I've played on the PS2.
The cars are good, you can choose how you want to end a mission, and there are a few glitches which ruin the game a bit.

It is an improvement from the first one. Some may see these games as a game trying to be GTA. It is similar to Grand Theft Auto,but is different in a lot of **** big way is that you don't know how much life or ammo you have left and the cops actually try to catch you. The way the cars drive in this game are smoother than the first **** story is very different from any other game I have played. The other ending isn't that different and the story doesn't change if you decide to get the other **** is a fun game to play even after you beat it because there are other modes you can do as racing,Being a taxi driver,and of course free roam.

Its fantastic story and surprisingly good sound are just not enough to make up for missing gameplay elements and a short campaign.
Hiding an otherwise mediocre game behind story and setting doesn't work twice.
Between the silly design flaws, lack of challenge, and short length, Black Monday would be better off being called an expansion pack for a Grand Theft Auto game - and even that would be over-praising the game. While the story flow is incredibly clever, the lousy characters are a deterrent to it.
British culture is certainly responsible for some fine works, like Shakespeare, David Bowie and Elizabeth Hurley. But as The Getaway: Black Monday proves, it’s also capable of some very bad ones, like the Spice Girls, blood sausage, Prince Harry's Nazi costume, and now Black Monday. Despite the name, we're pretty sure this game sucks every day of the week.

At first it's pretty confusing what button does what, you'll get used to it over time. Camera movement would be the most annoying part of this game because the camera just points to where the character is facing at. Mission navigation can be quite confusing sometimes as the mission don't really give any clue where to go. At one point where you play as Sam, there's just a buttons that most people wouldn't know at first; that is a Square button to crawl through table, and Triangle to jump to a Headlights above her

Something like GTA and Max Payne. Have some problems, like some bugs, odd camera turnings and moments that are too much dark, then you just can't see nothing. A good game after all, for a 2004 production.

QoL changes, the story is more hit-or-miss and less memorable but boasts fun characters and a wicked and unique soundtrack.

Out of all the games I've played on the PS2, this is by far the worst. The story is uninteresting, the characters are bland and lack personalities, the voice acting is unimpressive to say the least. The combat system is choppy and the fact that there is no HUD doesn't **** stealth missions are ridiculous. In the plus column dough, the cars look decent.
