A phenomenal game that deserves every penny of its inevitable commercial success. In fact, it's far too big for the simple word "game." [Dec 2004, p.90]
As much fun as the original game and its family of expansion packs were, Sims 2’s gameplay is an incredible leap forward that veteran Sims players and newcomers alike will thoroughly enjoy.

the best game in the sims series, it has small details in it that surpasses the sims 3/4 is this game is from 2004. Will made games out of love and care after he left EA just made them for money

The new features like aging, aspirations, character design, community property, and all of the great story building tools help to make The Sims 2 a more complete game in every way possible.
Playing God has never been as free, rewarding or downright enjoyable as it is here... Quite simply, this is a game so packed with features and so lovingly crated that, for the first time that we can recall, you’ll still be discovering parts of it by the time the add-on packs roll around. The aging system coupled with the aspiration system just makes The Sims 2 more addictive than ever.
There are moments of clarity when you become almost ashamed at what you're doing, such is the senseless waste of time and effort. But the fact that it can actually make you care is a definite achievement. And while we fully expect to grow to hate it - and the inevitable flurry of hateful expansion packs - for the time being we're hooked.
A game sequel done right, with only the blatant and unabashed commercialism working against it...or for it, depending on how you look at the game.

Que penser de ce truc ? pas grand'chose à dire vrai. Certes c'est amusant au début de diriger ses marionnettes, une sorte de théâtre Guignol virtuel qui reflète bien la société américaine et son mode de vie et par extension toute la société de consommation occidentale mais du côté toujours très politiquement correct, cela va de soi, et trop consensuel. Bref, pas très réaliste...
On aménage sa petite maison, on place (placez ici votre placement de produit) les meubles à la mode, le dernier réfrigérateur trop bien, les meubles tendance lolilol etc, etc... Puis on s'ennuie assez rapidement.
Les temps de chargement sont très longs et l'interface plutôt perfectible. Assez joli graphiquement et un souci du détail qui force l'admiration, il faut le reconnaître mais bon... on s'emmerde !
