Frantic FPS action. Me and my friends spent hours upon hours of hilarious multiplayer fun on this game. Story mode also very fun. ( -1 for there being almost no 'story!)

Timesplitters has perhaps the WORST single player i have ever seen in a game. its the exact same mundane task for each and every level. however, this one really shines with its multiplayer. with more customization than Halo, and a faster pace than a NASCAR race, this is one game that can easily entertain 2 or more people for several hours.

Unfortunately for me I only lasted 10 minutes playing this. The likely reason is that it is 2019 and this game has been surpassed by too many new titles in the genre. There are not enough options and in this game I was frustrated by the rudimentary shooting system. If I had played this in 2000 when it came out I think I would rate the game much higher but again unfortunately I cannot make this game newer than it actually is and had to shelve it quite early after meticulously experimenting with the options and finding none comparable to next generation. I like the graphical style that is fine I just have too huge a list of games to play through that this does not merit going back in time. From my mere 10 minutes this game really felt like a late playstation 1 title. I still enjoy many ps2 shooters but perhaps cd based games are no longer compatible with me. Expand

TimeSplitters is a great arcade shooter. The game feels and plays like Goldeneye 007 on the Nintendo 64 but there are differences. TimeSplitters story isn't really important but you go to different time era's (ancient Egypt, the future etc) and bring back certain objects like a relic or a briefcase to a certain spot while shooting at enemies who try to stop you. On the way, you use a variety of weapons to shoot anyone who gets in your way. The so called TimeSpliters try to stop you bringing back the object to the end of the level. The game play is fast and furious and moves at a great pace. The level designs are great: Each level has a distinctive look to it depending on the era like Egypt or Futuristic and this is reflected in the weapons you can choose from in the level which are great to use. Free Radical Design (Now Crytek UK) have created some interesting characters to choose from for each level. The game however can be hard (even on Medium difficulty) and you may find your self just replaying a level over and over again until you know where the enemies spawn. The music is fantastic and well composed; it fits each level (era) like a glove. I haven't tried the multiplayer but I've heard its great. After the campaign, there are some challenges to do which will keep you going for a while. TimeSplitters is a really good PlayStation 2 game and needs to be in each persons shooter collection! Expand

One of the best games I've ever played, if you have a PS2 you must get this game along with the second and I regret not saving my Playstation 2. Timesplitters is my most played game with my brother during my childhood, so many memories of an awesome game.

My first fps game , Did things that still makes me go back to this game is that timber it feels like you're running 60 mile an hour, The hardest difficulty is still at the challenge Even if most of the Challenge is about remembering where every enemy is, Music is good and memorable I still have it in my head 17 years after I played it for the first time , And when you play multiplayerMy first fps game , Did things that still makes me go back to this game is that timber it feels like you're running 60 mile an hour, The hardest difficulty is still at the challenge Even if most of the Challenge is about remembering where every enemy is, Music is good and memorable I still have it in my head 17 years after I played it for the first time , And when you play multiplayer daddy's where the funniest even if the single player is fun the multiplayer is worth it if you can kidnap some friends to play it , I would recommended it dirt cheap Expand

It's easy to see the Golden Eye and Perfect Dark DNA sewn into this one, making it a fairly solid FPS of the time. However, as good as the shooting is, it's not attached to anything else worth while.

Even though I found the overall experience quiet shallow, I was surprised to hear that this was a launch title for the PS2. This would have been a great way to show off the systems

Even though I found the overall experience quiet shallow, I was surprised to hear that this was a launch title for the PS2. This would have been a great way to show off the systems performance through graphics, sound and game-play. Unfortunately, even though the visuals and game-play run very nicely, they don't have much depth. Each level layout is fairly basic. The game-play consists of running from point A to B and back while shooting everything in between. And there is no real story to tie everything together. In the end, this was just a very expensive demo to show off what the hardware could do.

Even though there isn't much to this one, it is good to see the foundation of what future games in the series would become. There isn't much here other than a nostalgia trip and can be easily avoided to make way for better FPS. In saying all that, the multiplayer support is next to none and should be considered if that's what you are looking for.

TimeSplitters is a pretty cool game to say the least. The camera feels a bit awkward to control at first, but once you get used to it things will be a hassle.

  1. While it lacks the intricate single player mode of "Goldeneye," the multi-player content in TimeSplitters is arguably the best in console FPS history.

It is extremely awkward trying to control your basic movements with the left analog stick while at the same time controlling your look and aim movements with the right analog stick.

The game is slicker than snot on a cold doorknob when you get a few friends together for some serious fragging.
