Perhaps the best thing it does though is really hook into your emotions. You might not start off enjoying crushing workers or priests at the start of the game, but by the end you'll hate them and want to hit them with as much elemental power as you can muster. In fact I could do with squishing some right now.

Now, here's a great concept that's actually executed well. It's a shame that it gets repetitive after a while and that the PlayStation Move controls aren't as intuitive as the controller's. Overall, it's worth picking up; you won't regret this purchase.

Babel Rising can be fun and looks great, but needs a lot more refinement before it reaches a biblical level of gaming goodness. [Sept 2012, p.87]

Babel Rising is a very fun game, but it should have stayed on smartphones and tablets. It's a nice game to play for about a quarter, but soon it gets boring. You have to push certain buttons repeatedly and the gameplay doesn't really change throughout the game. It's a shame the developer didn't take more advantage of the Biblical story this game is based on, because it could use a storyline.

In Babel Rising you have to prevent hard working labourers from building the titular tower by conjuring wind and raining fire down on them. Fun and entertaining for a while, but also very monotonous. [July 2012, p.93]

For brief, glimmering moments near the end of a stage, when using a Move controller, Babel Rising is a decent game with average visuals. The rest of the time, it's an entirely ho-hum riff on tower defense despite its clever inversion of the Lemmings formula.

Babel Rising has a killer hook, but ultimately fails to use it for much more than the basics. Its entertainment value is simple and occasionally cathartic, but is exhausted far too early.
