BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma is one of my personal favorite games of all time when it comes to the fighting genre. Extend however, while it isBlazBlue Chrono Phantasma is one of my personal favorite games of all time when it comes to the fighting genre. Extend however, while it is very good, questions wether it should exist in the first place.

Chrono Phantasma Extend biggest offering is new pieces of story to it's overall narrative. They are entertaining, are told very well and they are wonderfully acted by pretty much everyone. Remix Heart Gaiden is also very entertaining, but we'll get to that later.

The gameplay is still the one from Chrono Phantasma, and that's a good thing: It's fast, frantic, stylish and beautiful to look at. The new characters, Celica and the returning Lambda, are fun to play and are unique. This game pretty much is Chrono Phantasma, but just more to it.....

......however, it didn't add enough for it to be worth a new entry in the series. Everything offered in this game could have been sold as DLC, but instead it's turned into a full priced game. ASW really needs to stop doing this as it really hurts their image in the long run as being very greedy.

Remix Heart Gaiden, despite being very entertaining and well voice acted, is incredibly short and considering the novel, much more would have been added to the overall story of Remix Heart. Considering how short it is, one even bothers why to include it all, which is a shame.

Also the balancing is a bit off in Extend. Characters like Hazama get buffed, but characters like Terumi get nerfed. I question that because Hazama was one of the best in the original version and Terumi was nothing special, yet Terumi gets hit with the nerf stick, and Hazama gets more combo options.....i don't get why they thought it was a good idea. There are other characters that are also a bit too good (Valkenhayn, Nu)

Even though i really like and enjoy Chrono Phantasma Extend, it really should have offered more in terms of content, like more characters and story bits, and balance the characters that should have been balanced accordingly instead nerfing or buffing characters that don't deserve them. Overall, i recommend this game to all hardcore BlazBlue fans. If you never owned Chrono Phantasma, this is a good place to start off with, but if you already owned Chrono Phantasma, i would say wait until a new patch comes along.
