Great game - without doubt. It's very, VERY fast so when you are driving you must be in 100% in the game. I hope that those things will be covered in updates... especially first two - if yes I'll definetely score this game 10. Expand

I believe F1 2010 is the best driving experience i have ever played on a games console. The game offers fantastic handling, making every decision, every apex and every piece of artificial grass the difference. Any F1 fan should buy this game and even those who are not.

What a fantastic game, beautifully recreated tracks and cars. Driving from in the car gives a great impression of speed, the handling feels fantastic and is just forgiving enough to make the game the most enjoyable F1 experience you are likely to come across on your console.

Without a doubt the best console game ever released for Formula One. The comparable games are the legendary efforts from Geoff Crammond for the PC. The handling realism, sense of speed, and levels of difficulty will satisfy gamers looking for both an immediate F1 thrill and those wanting a more immersive simulation.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This truly is the ultimate F1 experience. This is essentially what gaming F1 fans have been waiting for. It's just like what you would imagine it'd be like to be an F1 driver. Managing team contracts and relationships, handling the press and, of course, the full race weekends with full length sessions and races (optional). F1 fans will love this game. Expand

I don't believe that great sport that is Formula 1 could be represented any better than this game. The Career mode is a very in depth experience, the driving and feel of the race cars seems spot on, and the weather system is incredible. I enjoy the fact that the CPU's are competitive. They aren't pushovers, they fight for position, and make it difficult to overtake. Just as it is in F1, qualifying is crucial, and a good grid position is the number one best way toward getting a good race result. The only area I have to complain about are pit stops. There is no strategy involved. You come in when they tell you, (unless you specifically ask to come in earlier while racing) and the pit stop is shown from drivers perspective, so you don't get to see the pit crew at work. Finally, unless I'm mistaken, it shows the crew fueling up the car during stops. This wouldn't be a problem if refueling wasn't banned by the FIA. In reality, the crews are not allowed to add any fuel to the car after the start of the race. All that said, I believe this is one of the best racing games ever created, and will be held as the standard for Formula 1 games in the future. To say the least, this is a great game to hold me over until Gran Turismo 5 is released. Expand

An incredible recreation of Formula 1. The level of realism is incredibly and a good handling model will appeal to both arcade and simulation drivers. Sure, there is no safety car, but that doesn't stop f1 2010 from being an awesome. The best F1 game since Formula 1 '97.

great feel but not enough "soul" im talking about fun factor. the steering and gear changes are slow and the online, whilst reliable, leaves a lot to be desired to make it enjoyable. and then the bug list is unacceptable. hopefully f1 2011 will be better.

Unfortunately the game fails in its core, the gameplay. Apart from the numerous bugs the game shipped with (although most of them are fixed after the patch release) the game is really frustrating to drive with a controller. I can't say if its the same with a wheel as I don't own one but the one most annoying thing about the driving is that the car spin outs are completely WRONG and mostly RANDOM. Yes, you'll find yourself braking late at a turn, leave the throttle, take the turn and BANG you'll spin out just by turning at a very low speed without throttle. It's extremely frustrating to try to make good consistent laps only to have a random spin out and lose places/time. This really ruins it for me, maybe it won't for you but I had to warn everyone interested in buying this game. Expand

F1 2010 falls almost into that same boat, provided you're a petrolhead and have had the tanacity of a pit bull for frequent laps around each circuit, you'll be thrilled. F1 2010 puts aside the typicalities of F1 and ensures this is the most technical experience you can fish out of your racing games. Weather has the most realistic effect on your racing ever and strategy plays a huge role. Just prepare for some slow spells with a huge learning curve for those who want to master it. Forget Championship edition, in fact throw it in the bin and burn it, you'll never want to go back to it after playing this. Simply put if I had to choose a racing game of the year that outshines Blur, Split/Second, Modnation Racers and Sonic and Sega's All Stars Racing, then this is it. I'm not a big race fan and this game does nothing to capture my audience. I do enjoy racing but from my brief play of this game it is no different than any other racing game. For me, I want a racing game to be a high end fantasy production that captures me, pulls me into the atmosphere. This game is so bland it fails to do that on all fronts. First off the game software designers were noticably lazy on many fronts. It all starts with inputing a name. You will likely find your name missing from selections and this is a huge turn off for a simulator, when text is such a small part of a blu ray disc. The next thing you will notice is a cheesy PS2 like world done very poorly, so why even bother? Your agent looks and moves like maybe even a psone character, well I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say PS2. But this sets the stage for further disappointment. Next you move on to the cars and find they sound like tin cans not the powerful beasts they are in real life. There is no realism to their sounds. Even on TV you can feel the power of the F1 cars. This game? Hardly any of that feel is captured at all. Other expectations not met: I do not feel claustrophobic in my car and the sound of the engine is pretty feeble. I want some high end sound coming from the game and instead its flat. I want to hear my tires squeal and want to feel the pull of my treads on the ashphalt, and I also want to feel like I was in a real accident if I go off track and crash and I want smoke from the tires. This game is no better than any other race game from past generations in this respect. Further, i want a simulator of F1. Should I hit another car I should be disqualified with a broken car and have to try again. An accident in this game, the two cars just stay locked together and travel down the track one forward and one reverse? C'mon. It should be easy to loose your career and it should be very difficult to become a master of the courses and race without being bumper cars. Well at this point I'm not interested at all in this game. Maybe it has great physics and weather, I don't know I will never find out because the rest of the game is so poorly done I'm not interested in going further. At best this could be a good arcade game but for a simulator its pathetic.I'm going to have the last laugh here. Everyone rating this game highly is only rating it highly based on visuals and speed. Apparently the thrilling rush of speed is enough to rate a game high. I look at it from a different perspective. Is the game good? No. It is clear 10 minutes in a lot of lazy programming and I will have the last laugh after it takes the rest of you 20 hrs to realize the gameplay will contain the same laziness like BAJUS described and also some of the profession reviewers who pointed out even if you beat vehicles in time trial they can be placed ahead of you on the grid. How can you say the gameplay is a good similator. That's how it works in real life? LOL.

One other thing i would like to add is that i bought a logitech driving force GT and it seems to work nicely and improve the game immersion quite a bit. There however does not seem to be a ton of preference options for the wheel but the wheel none the less feels good while playing with what is offered.

***Good*** : Cars and drivers looks good even if the cars are form the beginning of 2010. Interview are cool but full of bugs too, she asked me if I could win the championship when I finished the last race of the year. Fun with the AI level set to legend. The dynamic weather system, the best I've seen so far, the rain effects are great.

***Bad*** : Too much scripted (even AI accident : tried with 3 flashbacks and I saw the same accident with Hamilton again and again). The manager sucks and repeat the same phrase a lot of time in the same session. Not a lot of AI accidents/DNF (in ten races there was 0 DNF). The pit stop bug (the lollipop man is not very agressive and you have to wait a lot time and could lose the race with that). No podium ! Well Codemasters said, Live the Life, the podium is a great things about the life of a F1 driver !!!!
Online there is no "mute all" option like in Dirt 2 but there are a lot of options to make a good race or even championship. People who crash at the first corner are annoying but that's not Codemaster's fault, tough the penalty are incorrect, you can have 10 seconds penalty when someone crash into you !
No safety car and Codemasters' presentation looks good but I prefer the real thing like in TV racesâ

    2. I find on a dry track, I can beat the computers on Legend fairly easily; so maybe have a difficulty level where the lap times match the actual ones posted in real life.
    3. Finally, I would like to see the Safety Car come into play. Everyone who watches F1 knows that it can change the race completely.

The rank system is very good, but floored by a giant rank glitch whereby 1 lap championships get you to rank 50 and a huge stat base very fast. The AI in this game are pretty damn good, online theyre a bit solid, they dont move off the racing line, or try to go round you if you stop in the middle of the track due to a crash or whatever, they just stop. So this game could really use all the extra, Safety car, Kers, Adjustable rear wings etc

The Major thing this game needs, is adjustments to its multiplayer, The two main ones i can think of are a Full grid, and team racing. This game would be a 10 if it had the option of working with a friend in a championship against other human players and having a team qualifying just like the real thing.

The tyres do not differ enough between full wet and options.

The pit stops are frustrating when you sit there for 10 seconds thus ruining your race (this would never happen).

The pit crew can also be frustrating at times but they're not much of problem. But aside from that, the game has solid driving controls and a very good career mode.
