Oct 25, 2013Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is the complete package. With a well-written story, characters you care about, a flexible class system, lovely visuals, and a grand soundtrack, this game offers about everything you could want, especially for fans of the Final Fantasy series.

Sep 3, 2013Does it stick to the MMO tradition? Absolutely. But it takes that tradition and refines it, and captures brilliantly those less tangible elements that make a great game instead of a good one - an inviting, vibrant world, the foundations for a dynamic player economy, and the freedom to take to the world as you please.

Oct 23, 2013Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is, without a doubt, the best MMORPG there is for PlayStation 3, and even one of the best in the whole genre. It recovers the magic that has been lost in the last installments of the saga, and combines it with a storyline full of epic moments. A "second wind" that will not disappoint.

Sep 12, 2013The problems that plagued the original 2010 launch have been all but completely eradicated, and A Realm Reborn has the potential to be a truly stunning MMORPG. While the early quests are too simple, too undemanding and too familiar for RPG veterans, they do serve as a fine entry point to help acclimatise you to the world.

Oct 1, 2013A brave restart of a game that arguably should've never been made. For a series primarily resting on the solitary player experience, it manages the transition to a multiplayer environment beautifully. There's enough content, races, classes and things to do to keep both new players and old MMO-foxes occupied for a long while, and all of it well realised with the worldbuilding skills of the Final Fantasy teams.

Sep 26, 2013Square Enix has learned from the failed release of Final Fantasy XIV and delivers an update worth playing. A Realm Reborn is an extremely enjoyable, if a bit repetitive MMO, the score of which is brought down by an unhealthy amount of framedrops, mediocre voice-acting and the lack of PvP.

Sep 18, 2013Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is an excellent game, but it's a bit too much for the aging PS3 to handle at times. While it's impressive that Square Enix managed to get the title to run on the ancient hardware at all, it's difficult to justify the monthly fee if you plan to play solely on Sony's console.
