Girl Fight is as generic as any fighting game can be. The developers have attempted to cash in on the sexualised nature of the female fighters but unfortunately the game lacks any soul, especially with the more mainstream fighters currently available.

The only way I could possibly recommend this game to anyone is if you have a blossoming interest in both breasts and fighting games, and are trapped on some sort of desert island with a PS3 that only has Girl Fight on it. Everyone else is going to want to look elsewhere.

Girl fight is a difficult game to recommend. It’s clear to see where the developers were drawing their inspiration, however they have succeeded only in creating a game which emulates the bigger budget titles on a very basic level.

Thanks to Street Fighter IV’s rebirth of the genre, there is now a wealth of options to pick from when it comes to fighting games, so there are no reasons to buy the generic sounding Girl Fight, because this is a bad, budget fighter with no redeeming qualities to enjoy.

Dear Kung Fu Factory, please try harder next time, because you showed some potential, but I had to look for it through a microscope. [13/2013, p.73]

Overall, Girl Fight feels like a cheap, less fluid (motion-wise), knock off of Dead or Alive. The arcade mode demands you play through at least seven times, which wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing if this were a better game.

Girl Fight is a game that I cannot recommend as a fighting game fan. Even if it had been released in the early 90’s it would have been perceived in the same way, it’s just not good at all.

Unfortunately, this game lacks a lot of everything. the controls are fairly simple: punch, kick, grab, block, and L1/R1 for the psy amps. it doesn't feel simple when your actually playing, and jumping, crouching requires pressing two buttons at once (seriously). It gets confusing. Luckily the AI is very easy, just punch continuously, don't bother with blocks and in ten minutes you'll clear arcade mode. I literally played through with one hand. The graphics are really good at times and at other times they are ps2 era, I don't know why, the unlockable artwork looks ps1, the unlockable outfits are basically just color pallet swaps and lack any "sex appeal". The frame-rate tends to stutter, I think it was intended to add effect but it gets annoying. Collision detection is weak, sometimes your opponent walks through punches and knocks you on your butt, and the announcer is annoying. Its not all bad, the music is good, the story is interesting, the backgrounds are good. but it doesn't compare to any fighter on the market today. It reminds me of the crappy Tekken clones Konami released on the ps1 back in the 90's. If your interested then definitely try the demo first. Don't just rush and buy it blindly like I did. Expand

This game is cheap for a reason, and offers little value at that. The basic controls are frustrating and that's only the start. As the game plays we are treated to some visually futuristic menus and all seems promising, the music for this game is also good, most of the time. Sadly however from there it's mostly downhill. The controls are very basic, you can kick, punch, block, throw and special attack, however these are limited. Combos are a rarity and the collision detection is poor. The most annoying thing about the gameplay however is the 'announcer' who will repeatedly pass comment on the fight ranging from pathetic to psycho killer. The voice is monotonous and despite sounding like a good idea at the start, the novelty wears off after a round or two. In terms of graphics this game does ok at best, however at times they could be mistaken for a good ps2 games graphics, again being generous. Online is an option here however the online gameplay lags even more than the offline gameplay and collision detection goes from poor to nonexistent, that's if you can find an opponent at all!

To summarise Girl Fight seems like a good idea however the execution is lacking. The game has an almost unfinished feel to it which disappoints. If you are interested then make sure you enjoy the demo of the game before upgrading!!
