With the success of terraforming activities, the planet's ice has begun to melt, giving way to lush tropical jungles and other new environments. The story has advanced beyond Wayne Holden as players now follow the exploits of their own customized snow pirates on their quest to seize control of E.D.N III. Players move their heroes through different stories creating a truly unique and interactive experience. With this concept, gamers have the opportunity to engage in the story in a more dynamic way as plot threads evolve from various perspectives. The strongest features from the first game returns in Lost Planet 2 making fans feel right at home. In addition to the anchor actions that made the gameplay in Lost Planet a true 3-D experience, Lost Planet 2 allows gamers to gain tactical advantage with a wide variety of new actions. The game also contains a new addition to the enormous Akrids which were a fan-favourite in the first Lost Planet. Beyond the deep single player mode, Lost Planet 2 is loaded with one the most extensive multiplayer campaign seen in a shooter to date. The intense and action packed campaign mode comes with the ability to form teams of up to 4 players online to clear mission objectives with friends. [Capcom] Expand

  1. Great action game including huge boss fights against over-sized monsters. A must have for those who like to play coop games for up to four players. In case you play the game alone alongside AI partners the difficulty level may frustrate you from time to time.
  2. Unfortunately, some basic gameplay decisions with the way the camera is handled and the way weapons and 'mechs are implemented hold this title back from its full potential.
  3. Lost Planet 2 is better by leaps and bounds from the original. Still, there is room for improvement, especially in a more cohesive storyline.
  4. Unfortunately its also plagued by some rather serious design flaws that could've been solved if Capcom had taken a look at what the competition was doing. If you can look past that than you'll enjoy this game, but you might have to deal with some frustration along the way.
  5. 65
At first, Lost Planet 2 seems to have it all. Unfortunately if you take a closer look the game has many flaws, which provide more frustration than fun.
  6. Bad game design, technical issues, and a botched character progression system lead to a game that feels like it's trying prevent you from having any of the fun that would be possible with four people playing together, taking out skyscraper-tall bug monsters.
  7. 50
When it all comes together with four friends coordinating attacks against a tremendous boss, Lost Planet 2 can be an absolute joy. Unfortunately, those moments are few and far between given the hurdles one must jump through to reach that point.

Everything involving this planet is fantastic, its design and his world teeming imagination everywhere. It is certainly a cool game with identity, in a clone genre and already so trite. I only hope a third release of this great game. Expand

This was my go-to game when I was too young for "M" games. The campaign story is not exactly intriguing, but it is great fun with a friend in co op mode.
Multiplayer was okay, but bullets from your main weapon are almost pointless.
Pros: Co-op, Great graphics, generally fun to play!
Cons: Trophies are absolutely IMPOSSIBLE!!! Some parts can be challenging without a partner (I guess that's what makes a game fun though).

Lost Planet 2 for the PS3 is a good game. The campaign is co-op which is a plus to me, I have always been more of a co-op guy than a VS. guy. Lost Planet 2 for the PS3 is a good game. The campaign is co-op which is a plus to me, I have always been more of a co-op guy than a VS. guy. The graphics are amazing, the explosions are great, the size and scale of the monsters you fight is jaw dropping. 4 player co-op, takin down huge monsters? Its like Monster Hunter with guns. Why didnt I give this game a 10 out of 10 you ask? Because of some poor design and storytelling options the devs decided to take. The 6 episodes are broken up into 3-4 chapters per episode, thats not that bad. But what makes it unenjoyable is the fact that it is unclear who you are playing at times, the storyline is basically non-existent till after the 3rd episode. Your basically trompin through the woods getting orders barked at you without any real significance to WHY your being given the order. So for me, the game in that aspect didnt have a engaging aspect to it to keep me glued to my seat and play hours on end. It felt slapped together and unpolished. Expand

Conclusion: Lost Planet 2 is a good game, i wounder why this series is rated soo bad, ok it´s not a 90+ but easy a 70-80 Titel. The story is ok, nothing special (6 chapter 8-10 h), but the Boss fights are awesome and bombastic, the mechanics of the VS feel´s cool, mixed with a good multiplayer this game is the best of the Lost Planet Saga.

That I also hoped and bought is game (10$ only so it was cheap). But. Controls and gameplay lack quality. A lot. The only thing to play here is the main game, single or preferable co-op. There some nasty big monsters out there which were interesting to battle but other than that it failed. Online was horrible, I mean the only positive side was that it was so bad it turned to be funny but that didn't last too long too. So don't be fooled by marketing and buy this game, it isn't what you are looking for. The only people I could consider to test this one is players who can forget the bad controls and gameplay and have three friends to play this constantly co-op. It could work but it's not the best co-op out there so this is probably just waste of your money. Expand
