Good graphics, fun in-game play, good mini-games, not a whole lot of depth with season mode.

Game AI is stronger, the shooting mechanic is tighter, and the NBA Replay feature is one of the best modes included in a sports game in some time. Unfortunately, the game is held back from greatness with some SIXAXIS control issues, bugs and a lack of unlockable content and modes.

Sony proves with Games of the Week that a last-minute port can offer more than slightly improved graphics. This refreshing new mode is a step in the right direction in the evolution of basketball video games.

The game looks excellent and the online potential has been realized; all that’s left is to handle the AI and SIXAXIS hiccups and this one is ready to head to the pros.

If this is the sort of thing that's going to come out of Sony consolidating their worldwide development studios, we're in for some seriously kick-ass looking games -- and sooner than most probably think.

NBA 07's offensively charged gameplay makes it one of the PlayStation 3's best launch games. Instead of relying on playbooks, Sony San Diego focused on sick dunks and dazzling off balance jump shots.

The noticeable graphical uptick and the Sixaxis controller are not nearly enough to warrant a purchase over Sony’s own current-gen NBA title, and certainly not over the 2K series.

The sense of inconsistency throughout the game is troubling but if you look deep inside the game, NBA 07 is enjoyable.

Gameplay features such as the One Shot Indicator and color-coded shot meter work brilliantly but it is the juke, spin and crossover moves using the SIXAXIS controller that wins big points. Unfortunately, the game is plagued by a few bugs.

NBA 07 isn’t a terribly broken game but the game does have quite obvious flaws. The decent but not excellent graphics and the rushed audio also really hurt the game.

NBA 07 misses very important baskets in its one-on-one match up against "NBA 2K7," which results in shallow depth due to the lack of a franchise mode and a limited presentation because of the muted commentary.

But here's where, at least for me, NBA 07 earns the "sports innovation" award at the PS3 launch: Every week, Sony will offer five downloadable scenarios from this year's real NBA season that you can try and re-create (hey, the rest of you sports developers, this is how you give your game some longevity, OK?).

NBA replay online content does have some interesting prospects, with the top five real-life NBA games from the past week set to be recreated in NBA 07 as part of an online multiplayer competition. Good hustle.

The game fails miserably in the gameplay, sound, modes, and enjoyment and for Sony to slap a $60 price tag on it is terrible.

There is no "The Life" or any career-mode variant present in the game, the NBA Replay mode is a novelty that wears thin, and the mini-games leave a lot to be desired.

This is seriously one of the most boring basketball games I've played in a long time and should be avoided by all but the most avid of fans.

It looks, plays, and feels exactly like a quick, smooth, arcade-style basketball game from ten years ago, but with slightly next-gen graphics, and that can still be fun. But the game's only competitor looks better, plays smarter, and offers more game modes and adjustable options than can easily be counted.

Truly a poor game. It introduces us to 1080p resolution and a cool gameplay mode in NBA Replay, but fails on almost every other level.

NBA 07 on the PlayStation 3 doesn't have the entertaining story mode that the PlayStation 2 version has, but it does have most of that version's flaws, and some new ones, too.

NBA 07 does nothing to buck the disturbing trend of feature-light, bug-ridden next-gen sports games. If you need an NBA fix, try 2K’s games instead.

Thin, poorly balanced and not that good looking, kind of like Shawn Bradley. Take our advice, and let this pass go out of bounds.
