PES 2015 is a complete, competitive and good game with a valid gameplay, great Fox Engine and, sadly, very big issues in the online multiplayer. Konami wasted maybe too much time before revolutionizing its brand, but finally they are on the right path, leaving its signature on this gen and winking to the next one. At the end, PES can entertain the players, and that's the most important thing after all.

Players are responsive and konami have coded real intelligence into the CPU play to make it challenging instead of the scripted nonsense that is EAs preferred (lazy) modus operandi. Anyone that knows anything about footy will see the shallow experience that is fifa and recognise that PES is the only true footy game out there. Expand

This is achieved through massively improved gameplay; with fantastic physicality, an abundance of improved animations and new found responsiveness, improved variety of shots, passes and crosses, improved goalkeepers, more detailed tactical options and an intuitive slower pace that makes you involve every player on the pitch and think about every pass you make. It is the most realistic football game I have ever played, and is one with a good learning curve – but you don’t have to master it to enjoy it. Nevertheless, licencing issues remain, the online isn’t brilliant and Master League feels a little lazy – although still a very addictive mode: so flaws remain. However, the massive improvements on the pitch make for a fantastic football game – and one of the best I’ve played – and one that will make consumers consider the possibility that PES is worth buying over FIFA, finally.

The most important thing in a sport game like this is the gameplay right? Because you can have ultra realistic graphics, all the licenses for teams, leagues, stadiums and kits, but if your gameplay is not well developed then all comes to nothing. And this is why this year versión of Pro Evo shines bright.
Licenses are ok considering there are OF availables for PS3, but the lack of an editor for the staduims can be a problem, the game needs more stadiums.

    Gameplay
Back is the good feeling of PS2 versions, when avery game was a joy to play, here you have the sensation that every match is unique, and every goal you score is something new, the game is so well balanced that you really feel you control your team and can do whatever comes in your mind, want to play ping pong passes? no problem, if you have the hability you can do it, want to play long balls? you can do it too, or you wanna play with counter attacks like Real? then is up to you, the passes are precise and responsive, the crosses are exact depending of your position, and the shots are well balanced, this year you can score again from shots outside the box, in last year version was imposible, you can make more delicate definitions with R2 button, and now not every cross to the box is a possibility of goal like last season.
The keepers are so improved this year too, is hard to see a goal yo can blame on the keeper, maybe they need to react better on one on one situations to reduce space to the forward players, but mostly they react very well to most situations, their arms power is a little bit overpowered and that looks unrealistic, but nothing that compromises gameplay at all.
Dribling could be a little more easier and responsive but thats something for future versions.
The ball physics are great, and really moves like you expect they would in real life,
The players physic combat are a great addition but still needs more work, they repeat a lot and the animations need more variations but it doesnt compromise gameplay either.
The player ID adds a lot to the realism of the gameplay, when you make a running with Ronaldo you know is him, when you make a long and precise pass with Pirlo you know is him, when you escape from various defenders like Messi you know thats his style and even the way Robben runs with his open arms is in the game, and it feels and looks so real you can only thanks to konami for that.
The Team ID works the same way as well, emulating the way each team plays on real life, so expect Real Madrid and his fast counter attacks, or Bayern and his game of posession and so on. Of course in tactis you can change the way you want to play, there are a lot of options there, the new fluid formation is great too and really make games more dynamic than ever.

    Graphics
In PS3 the game take the console to his limits, of course you cant compare with PS4 quality but considering is an old gen console is a good result. Shame they have to remove the games intro in this version but i believe was a choice to make to not compromise the game.
The players likeness are awesome, you can instantly recognize the stars like Ronaldo, Messi or Robben, while other players not so famous still needs improvement. The field looks good, and the grass has a proper texture now, the stadium looks fine too but the crowd when looking up close looks pretty bad, in next gen looks better for what i saw on videos.

    Sound
The game soundtrack is the best in years, the selection includes the most popular songs around the world and give the game a modern felling, the in game commentators is another area that needs a lot of work, no matter in the language you play they repeat a lot and sometimes make no sense from what you are watching on the game. In game sounds like the crowd from different teams are well done and really make you feel in the game, you can hear different sounds when you score a goal playing home or when you are away. Some classic chants from different leagues are there too and add the right atmosphere for each situation.

    Presentation

This is one aspect of the game that made some step forward and other backwards.
The main menu was re designed, using a windows 8 style that really gives the game a much modern feeling making easy for the player to find what he wants and even customize the menu.
Inside the modes like master league or leagues and championships needs to be upgraded too to look good as the main menu. The intro is gone and thats not good, other details like non sense phrases on the stadiums dont help, the game could take some ideas from the 2k series from nba to a more tv like show during the game, half game, and in the end of the game, showing for example the best player of the game plays and simulating a fake interview scene for example

I will give it a 9 just because the licences, and the other cons is why Konani deleted the intro scene when a match is starting??, what about champions league??? where is its anthem?? what a pitty,ok these are just little mistakes that don't matter to much when we are playing..... However my review is purelyObviously the game has not been out long and I would not normally review a game until I have played many hours. However my review is purely based on the actual gameplay on the pitch, which is what a football game is all about. I am not reviewing game modes, online etc. Purely one player gameplay against the CPU. Like many I was excited about the game having put in a lot of time on the demo for PES 2015. I am an old time PES player, having always played it and preferred it over Fifa on the ps1 and ps2. Growing up this was always the game for me over Fifa. We all know that Fifa improved to an extent and has been better than PES in the most part over the lifetime of the ps3. For me the only half decent versions of PES on the ps3 are 2013 and this game (2015). The rest really are poor and not worth it.

PES 2015 is by no means a complete disaster, but I have been left feeling rather underwhelmed. Maybe it is much better on the ps4? I don't know. The gameplay is now better but it is still some way behind the glory days of PES 5 and PES 6 (ps2). For me it feels very much on rails, as does Fifa to be honest. Surely in this age of technology we should expect so much more from a football game. I very much hope that another developer goes into making football games as really Konami and EA Sports are producing mediocre games at best. Think I will just have to go without an up to date football game. There are a few issues on the pitch with PES 2015, first the ref is a joke. Yellow cards are branded like they are going out of fashion. You can get many yellow cards without even making a slide tackle (i.e. by doing a standing tackle). It feels like if the CPU wants to dance past 4/5 of your defenders then they can, and there is nothing you can do about it. As I say, both football games these days appear to be on rails, which means you have little control, thus defeating the object of a "game". The movement of your players is dreadful. Sometimes it can be difficult to get the ball to your striker, as he stands behind an opposition player and rarely moves. I hate the arrows etc for corners and free kicks, yes they can be turned off but why include such a thing in the first place.

The game is not terrible, it is ok. It just becomes boring very quickly as there is little to get excited about. It's just a bit flat. I used to love the magic moments on PES of old, sadly I don't think we will ever get that back. Championship teams are included but it appears Konami know very little about Championship players and their stats are not accurate, from what I have seen.

I guess to sum up I would say this is not a terrible game, it's just too predictable, too much on rails and not that much fun.
