Played Rayman 1 as a kid, loved it. Played Rayman 2 as a teenager, loved it. Played Origins and Legends as an adult, loved 'em. Finally got around to playing this, aaaaaaaand...

This is the weak link in the main Rayman series. It's fine, but there's nothing remarkable about it.

This game is a Good HD Remake but the problem with this game is that it is just an okay game their is nothing special about this game. has about 0% of the charm that Rayman 2 did if you want a Rayman game just buy Rayman 2 Revolution form the PS2 Classics on PSN instead, but if you have 10 bucks and nothing else to spend it on then go ahead just note that this game is incredibly mediocreThis game is a Good HD Remake but the problem with this game is that it is just an okay game their is nothing special about this game. has about 0% of the charm that Rayman 2 did if you want a Rayman game just buy Rayman 2 Revolution form the PS2 Classics on PSN instead, but if you have 10 bucks and nothing else to spend it on then go ahead just note that this game is incredibly mediocre and dated by today's standards Expand

This game has good ideas but due to the bad graphics, poor camera angles and difficulty of using the camera in certain areas I think it is one for the bin, I think Ubisoft should keep Rayman 2D or fire the team that created this garbage

Absolutely great game. Great bosses, minigames and music. The graphics aren't amazing obviously but the art direction is great. Really really fun, a true classic. I prefer the original over the remake though.

I love this game, 9 years ago I loved it, and love it to this day. The graphics are subpar against new releases, but good for a HD Remake, much better than Silent Hill 2's failure to preserve the original for newer generations, and the art direction is truly beautiful. The graphics are subpar against new releases, but good for a HD Remake, much better than Silent Hill 2's failure to preserve the original for newer generations, and the art direction is truly beautiful. Rayman has always had a great art direction, even in the PlayStation era, but Rayman 3 is where is really stands out from the crowd. The levels are varied and there are different and unique ways to get from A to B. The combat is unique. There is an auto lock-on feature and you can kill an enemy in many unique ways, using your propeller hair, different fist types, unlocked by going over cans, but bugger all else. There's plenty of variation in gameplay mechanics. I think the best part of Rayman 3 is that it makes little to no sense. The story, like all Rayman games, are barely there or make no sense, being in its own special way, unique. Globox swallows a Black thing, they go to the Doctors to get him out before the Black Thing kills him. It's not an emotional roller-coaster from start to finish, but it starts to get really funny as it goes on. Some attempts at humor are a bit dry at times, but what I love about Rayman 3 is the lack of cutscenes, it doesn't interrupt gameplay, much, and when there are cutscenes, it's usually just a framing device to link you from one level to another, which is fine. It's much better than Rayman 2, the lack of brown and unlikeable, forgettable characters, it stand out. The set-pieces are fantastic, the gameplay is varied and it has some of the funniest humor I've ever heard in a game. Although I am yet to play a perfect game, which of course will be Half-Life 3, obviously. The gameplay is a bit grinding at times, especially on the same level, it's fun to circle strafe and the comic-book style death-sequences are entertaining, but sometimes you feel like you're grinding through the levels. The '5 star' point system at the end of every level is arbitrary, it has no relevence, Rayman doesn't need 5 stars, he needs limbs. Also it's pretty short, I completed it in 10 hours, but then again I completed Half-Life 2 in 10 hours, but I'm just nit-picking now, there's nothing else like it and it's one of my favorite PS2 titles out there. It well preserves the original, and Rayman always seems to be under-rated. Only 50,000 people bought Rayman Origins on the opening weekend, and Rayman MCing that Rabbit's business wasn't doing him any favors either, huge disappointments. I love this HD remake, not as good as Team Ico's HD remake, but still one of the best one's out there. I'm just waiting for them to remake the first Silent Hill, Rayman 2, Half-Life and GTA3/San Andreas, maybe Max Payne and PaRappa the Rappa too, but oh well, I'm happy, and you should throw your money at UbiSoft once again. Rayman 3 HD
    From fun to frustrating
Rayman 3 HD is an 8 hour long 3D platformer and revamped version of 2003’s Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc where you set out to stop these hoodlum punks running around the forest.. And we wouldn’t see another mainline rayman game until 8 years later with rayman origins, and going back to 2d that is this series routes was clearly the right call We all have

Rayman 3 HD is an 8 hour long 3D platformer and revamped version of 2003’s Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc where you set out to stop these hoodlum punks running around the forest..
And we wouldn’t see another mainline rayman game until 8 years later with rayman origins, and going back to 2d that is this series routes was clearly the right call
We all have nostalgia of 3d platformers, but Rayman 3D is a reminder that this genre wasn’t as great as we remember them being…
Rayman 3 comes from a time where frustrating equaled fun…
that isn’t the case throughout the entiriety of this game.. but it rings true for the ultimate delivery…
the first half of this game is very casual and fun..
I was surprised how much I was enjoying this 15 year old game, collecting gems to unlock bonus levels, progressing through the levels with the different powers the game gives you, that all really bring you back, you have some tordano power, a fist power, a rocket power, and a flying power..
these are for the most part used in great ways to keep the gameplay fresh through your 8 hour journey..
a lotr of the times youll have to defea enenemies for them to drop this power that you need to progress…
at first its really hard to die in this game..
I was relieved thinking okay not every 3d platformer was some annoying obstacle to overcome…
and then the game throws in annoying enemies that fly around and feel impossible to hit, dodging all of your attacks, and then I die trying to defeat them..
In a modern game no big deal… ill start at the beginning of the room and try again..
    That isn’t the case here…
The checkpoint system in this game is absolute garbage…
I died twice in this spot befgore I figured the enemy out and I had tio start from the beginning of the chapter each time… running through the same areas, recollecting the gems, re fighting the enemies in between that spot, redoing the simple yet tedious environmental puzzle…
and moments like this show up a lot in this game… dying in a boss battle will sometimes make you have to go through a series of platforming to get back into the room to give It another try..
and the final boss is just a bunch of cheap pultiple stage garbage… the 2nf to last stage youre not only fighting the boss but youre fighting the camera and draw distance as platforms are loading back in as you fall trying to cimb to the top, taking damage… and getting to this point in the fight was frustrating enough.. but if you fall, its game over and you have to redo the 2 stages before it…
theres just so much awful dated feeling delivery here during a itme where autosaving and checkpoints weren’t really a thing yet and it really makes the final stretch of the game feel hard to enjoy.. especially since it does that thing all platformers do where everything was fun and colorful, but not its all dark and lava, and ugly, full of steam, all mixed in a soup of unfun anxiety with credits at the bottom of the bowl.
I still do believe this game is worth playing through..
its has its moments of fun, decent level design, a great feeling of discovery and exploration.. it just would’ve been so much better with modern staples and a respect of the players time and effort,
    I give Raman 3 HD
    a 6/10

The original game was amazing back in 2003, but this remake was not handled properly by Ubi soft. It feels like this port didn't get the development time it needed and was in turn rushed.

Rayman 3 HD is a good game, but all the good experience is not that great with this bad camera movement. It has a good art style and sound quality could be better.Gameplay is not good with those bad controls and camera angles. If you have time to spend on video game i will say to avoid it,until you are interested in playing this game.

Despite the game's age and thanks to the graphical update, the colorful environments still look beautiful, just don't expect any miracles from a game that's almost ten years old. The only thing that gets in the way of the fun you're having is the sometimes jittery camera. [May 2012, p.86]
