The only problem? There is absolutely no online play. How was that feature left out in this day and age? I would have gladly paid an extra $5 over the $10 asking price for this feature. Picturing my friends list full of people playing this awesome game and not being able to team up just hurts.

Absolutely no context is needed to take this thrill ride that tours all the best parts of gaming's romanticized history and love every second of it.

As a "comic-to-movie-to-game" of sorts, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is a resounding triumph, and well worth its measly $10 price-tag.

If you're looking for classic side-scrolling beat'em up action, along with a blasting soundtrack, tough yet rewarding game play, and plenty of character, you can't go wrong with Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.

As a downloadable title Scott Pilgrim is almost what everyone could want. It does nothing but pay homage to the ghosts of gaming past while it improves a long forgotten genre of gaming.

As far as beat 'em ups go Scott Pilgrim vs. The Word is a dream come true.

It is guaranteed that you will spend here a really lovely and refreshing experience.

A few nagging but workable issues prevent Scott Pilgrim from a perfect score, but you will not find a brawler out there that looks as unique, sounds as great, and packs as much fun in it as this one.

Looks greats, sounds awesome (Anamanaguchi!) and plays wonderfully. A must have for PS3 and Xbox 360.

It may be short but this geek-chic brawler's fine blend of style and substance makes it worthy of praise.

The lack of online play is a shame, but if you've been looking for a great follow-up to Castle Crashers, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World should not be passed up.

Even for those who aren't Scott-aholics or retro-game obsessives, Scott Pilgrim is one of the best downloadable games available on home consoles, worth it simply for the solid play, the incredible sprite work from Paul Robertson and Stéphane Boutin, and the bitchin' soundtrack by Anamanaguchi.

And that highlights Scott Pilgim's real problem: the lack of any online multiplayer. If you want to play with friends, they have to be sitting on the couch in the same room with you.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World lends itself to different interpretations: if you're a novice gamer, forget this title since it's way too hard and frustrating for actual standards; but if you're thirty years old or more, you'll enjoy Scott's battle though its failures (the lack of an online multiplayer mode) and weaknesses.

Though a playthrough won't take you more than five to seven hours (depending on how many people you have on your team), some decent replay value comes from maxing out your favorite characters.

At its core, Scott Pilgrim is still just an upgraded version River City Ransom, but its polish and sense of style aims to keep players engaged, nostalgic, and smiling. Never trying to do more than it sets out to do, the game offers a fine balance of presentation and gameplay mechanics.

If you don't enjoy old-school looks, repetitive gaming and blips for music, then you obviously aren't the one this game is aimed at. However, if those things give you goose bumps and memories of beating up the same enemy over and over then Scott Pilgrim is your game.

Winners Don´t Eat Meat - and they don´t pass a chance to waste some hours with retro loving friends on this charming pixel brawler. This is a trip down memory lane, with lots of great references to the games of the past. If you are looking for a new Castle Crashers then this might be it.

For the most part, it's brilliant. An entirely robust fighting engine has been crafted here, with a whole host of different moves each with their own characteristics and applications.

Like the movie and comics, Scott Pilgrim the game speaks perfectly to a specific generation of people that will absolutely enjoy this breezy blast from the past. And anyone who's wanted a new yet classic brawler will be satisfied by this no matter how they feel about Scott Pilgrim getting a life.

If you don't like classic beat 'em ups, I tentatively recommend this game with the qualifier that you need a few friends to play with. If you do enjoy classic beat 'em ups -- then why are you still sitting here reading this?

Putting all of that potential entertainment against the price roughly equates to something ridiculously cheap like 50p per hour of gaming.

Simple, intuitive and, most of all, fun: three adjectives that perfectly describe Scott Pilgrim's gaming experience. Thanks to a wonderful retro visual style and an extremely accessible gameplay, this "old school" scrolling beat'em up proves to be one of the best arcade games out there. Don't miss out, especially if you have a few friends to share the experience with.
