If you’re looking for a bit of nostalgia, then Syberia is for you. It does date itself with its visuals and controls, but sometimes that’s the appeal of sitting down to re-releases of old gems that you may not have access to otherwise. While the game itself remains intact, the controls are frustrating and the graphics could really use a paint job.

With clever puzzles, solid writing, and a smashing sense of style, Syberia remains a fantastic illustration of how a point and click adventure game can tell a deep and interesting story. However, this console port absolutely does not do justice to the original title, ultimately resulting in a fickle and frustrating experience.

If you’ve never played Syberia and you’re without a PC or iOS/Android device, this PlayStation 3 port is a viable option. This game is for a very specific slice of gamer, though. You’ll need to have a love for adventure games, a tolerance for old mechanics and the mental fortitude for classic design.

Syberia is a game that marked its time. The PS3/Xbox 360 and iPad/iPhone versions allow us to discover again this good old game, with its qualities and its failures... unfortunately untouched.

In the end, Syberia is old, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Some aspects like the writing, movement and direction have aged with time, but the style of the world, puzzles and story make up for the shortcomings.

Syberia is an all-time classic which we adore. On the other hand, this edition is deeply flawed, never doing justice to the original vision of the creators.

I played through the game’s first chapter before quitting in disgust and frustration. Syberia for the PlayStation 3 is a half-assed product.

Realmente no disfrute del juego, no es especialmente malo, pero me gusto, ni lo siento memorable.
