No Going Back poses challenging questions about people you love, people you might be using, and those you might loathe. It is, ultimately, a test of these characters’ wills, and a look at each of their limits.

The finale to The Walking Dead’s second season retains Telltale’s crown as the king of interactive storytelling. While this is a dark and frantic romp, ‘No Going Back’ also includes some light-hearted moments, which makes those closing scenes even more impactful.

    Simply brilliant. [Nov 2014, p.95]

No Going Back ends a more cerebral, unfocused Walking Dead season with difficult decisions befitting a memorable experiment in morality, excusing narrative lulls and forgettable characters.

A brilliant closing chapter to the second season of The Walking Dead, defined by absolutely devastating emotional choices and interesting plot twists. Let's hope the third season isn't too far away.

To continue that with a story that has no strong motivating force outside of general survival cheapens our time as Lee and his reason for pushing forward.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This episode will take your heart and jump all over, it's one heck of an emotion roller coaster. Also, SPOILER ALERT HERE. This episode starts at the cliffhanger of an ending in episode 4 with guns going off everywhere, most survive but a few sustain some injuries. Everything seems to be going fine with everyone happy by a campfire (except for Arno but, y' know he doesn't really count...) you have to sacrifice luke in a thin ice moment that will make you're heart swell up a little. Bonnie, Mike, and Arno end up betraying you but you get to the. Car first and head out. After a huge argument and a crash Jane allegedly loses the baby and here is where the tears come. I won't spoil everything but God is it sad no matter what ending you choose. It had me in tears for the Kenny endings and the Begining of the Jane ones (although they aren't as good)

This shows the storytelling Telltale is great at, making you feel actual attachment to a character and make you go cry in the bathroom before you can continue. 9/10 With its massive cliffhanger and heart wrenching story I won't soon forget it. The only reason it scores a 9 is because of the Jane endings and certain events leading up to it that I didn't think fit.

In fact, S2 mainly consists of characters going out of their way to find reasons to argue with eachother instead of focusing on solving problems. The best scene in the season is a tie-in with S1, which speaks more about how strong S1 are than how good S2 are. The final episode, 5, is though by far the best one in the season.
That said, it is well worth your time to play S2 if you've played and loved S1. One thing that bothers me though is the lack of platinum trophy for S2. There was one for S1 as well for contemporary The Wolf Among Us. There better not be a platinum trophy for the physical release of S2 which ignores us who got the season pass. That would ensure that I would never again get another early release or digital release of Telltale Games again. Way to screw over your loyal fans.
