Tiger 09 is remarkably improved across the board.
-
Tiger Woods 09 is a fantastic all around effort. The developers took everything good about previous editions in the series, fixed them up and presented us with the best golf game to date.
-
After a lackluster performance from last year, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 excels in every area imaginable. The addition of Woods' personal coach, Hank Haney, introduces a significant new skill improvement system with a series of practice drills and advice.
-
As I said, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is a more polished and better-organized version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08.
-
It's pretty hard to find serious fault with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09.
-
Overall Tiger Woods 09 is a fantastic update in the franchise and continues to show that EA Games aren’t just about churning out games year after year, but more about improving them to the highest standard possible.
-
An incredibly deep videogame that will have gamers enthralled well into 2009. It looks solid, plays superbly, and is a truly refined simulation of golf that obscures its few flaws very well. EA Tiburon has set the bar so high for itself that I can’t envision many ways in which Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010 can be a better game.
-
Another excellent addition to the storied franchise. However, without meaning to sound like a broken record, TW 09 is not a significant improvement over last year's outing.
-
In terms of visuals, features, quality of courses and online play, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is a really great golf game. It would probably be easier to recommend if the series wasn’t prone to such inconsistent yearly updates, but at least EA has focused on making the game better than just bigger.
-
There are a ton of various gameplay modes, on top of a solid career experience, all wrapped up with an ESPN branded presentation that broadcasts real-time sports updates straight through the game. Brilliant.
-
With some major tweaks to an old formula, Tiger is back to his best. As ever, we wonder what on Earth EA will do next year, but for the time being we have one of the best golf games in some time.
-
I’m not sure why EA stripped away features that already worked beautifully. I wish this year’s five new courses were just the beginning of the additions instead of one of the highlights, but it’ll have to do while we wait for a course creator.
-
Another fantastic effort from EA, building on solid foundations from last year's iteration. Enough entertainment to keep you on the fairway for months to come.
-
At the end of the day both veterans of the series and newbies alike will enjoy a round or two of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09.
-
If it weren't for the commentary crew messing things up so badly, Tiger would have scored in the A range, but alas, there comes another sand trap EA really needs to fix before next year. Otherwise, if you can ignore the commentary crew, you will find a very deep and very fulfilling game of golf that newbies and veterans can enjoy equally.
-
The dynamic skill system, club tuner, and simultaneous online play are all welcome additions, proving that the folks at Tiburon aren't content to merely sit back and pump out the same game year after year.
-
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09, like so many other sports games, doesn’t have a headlining feature but the handful of new additions perform fairly well.
-
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is a good buy for anyone who loves the series and demands every update, and is a must-buy for players who have enjoyed this style of golf but have yet to add a Tiger Woods game to their collection.
-
Beyond those minor disappointments, Tiger Woods 09 has proven itself to be a very decent sequel that manages to bring some meaningful upgrades to the table – most notably the performance coach, the Club Tuner, and the faster multiplayer.
-
PSM3 Magazine UKIt's like having a pro-golfer training you to become better. [Oct 2008, p.78]
-
PGA Tour 09 does not reinvent golf in the same way as "NHL 08" completely reinvigorated EA's hockey series, but it is nonetheless an extremely polished and surprisingly addictive title.
-
Unquestionably the best golf sim available on consoles.
-
The additions add a lot to the game and it’s nice to see a unifying theme- the ability to organically develop your own golfer.
-
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is a solid improvement over its predecessor and a really good golf game.
-
AceGamezWhile Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 still suffers from a few of the glitches and lazy development that plagued its predecessors, the hugely innovative and perfectly implemented additions to the tried and tested Tiger Woods framework makes Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 very easy to recommend.
-
With great additions like the real-time swing aid and the ability to tune your golf clubs, Woods' latest virtual outing gives owners of previous instalments more than enough reason to upgrade to the latest model.
-
Despite minor technical issues, though, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is for the most part a polished and enjoyable golf sim.
-
This is another case of same-but-better for EA.
-
Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaA surprisingly deep and addictive golfing experience. [December 2008, p.82]
-
Has enough class to disguise the numbers game of golf, and clears enough distance left by its predecessor for an easy lay-up for next year's installment.
-
Are there enough improvements to warrant a purchase of 09 if you have 08? That’s hard for me to say. The dynamic ratings are fantastic, but with a majority of the courses being identical and the gameplay being almost identical it’s a tough sale.
