With astounding graphics (especially for the all-important and terrifyingly frequent explosions), a sweeping symphonic soundtrack, a surprisingly deep story and a smooth multiplayer experience, GRAW 2 proves that the PS3 can perform just as well as the 360 any day of the week.

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 is actually GRAW 1: Part 2. Although well made, military shooters could use some evolution. [Sept 2007]
  3. The visuals are stellar, the sound is strong, the campaign is engaging and the online play will be a welcome breath of fresh air, especially for online hungry PS3 owners.
  4. GRAW2 for the PS3 is another re-made winner from Ubisoft.
  5. This is a worthwhile sequel that not only looks amazing but, thanks to the PlayStation 3’s innovative controls, it also feels better than the Xbox 360 version. If you’re a fan of the series or are looking for an exhilarating tactical shooter for the PS3, this is the game you really need to buy right away.
  6. GRAW 2 is unquestionably a huge success. A short campaign aside, it does everything GRAW fans would want from a sequel and once again confirms Ubisoft as one of the leading next-gen publishers.
  7. Nonetheless, value proposition questions aside, it’s hard to ignore that this is one the best-looking and most fun games on the PlayStation 3.

Thankfully, there are a ton of multiplayer options to keep your itchy finger on the trigger.
  9. A tremendous game. The visuals are a little muddier, the SIXAXIS controls are for the most part negligible, and the online lobby system isn’t as sophisticated as the Xbox 360 version, but those are all minor issues in the big picture.
  10. Combines strategy and shooting to excellent effect. Not perfect, but it really feels like war. [Sept 2007, p.64]
  11. GRAW games are all about multiplayer, and this version doesn’t disappoint. PS3 owners will receive 14 additional maps, most of which are just variations on the Xbox 360 maps and a few classic ones from Ghost Recon past, and two new co-op modes that task you with locating POWs and evading enemy forces.
  12. GRAW2 offers up a solid, though short, single-player campaign. But the bulk of its gameplay can be found in its impressive multiplayer offering.
  13. A solid port that offers a ton of single- and multi-player content for the price, a solid if slightly campy story (your supposedly hard-assed commander is a hoot), and some seriously solid gameplay make this a joy to play through... even if you do it a couple months after the game actually came out.
  14. GRAW 2 is highly recommended for any tactical shooter fan.

If you own a PS3 and haven't played GRAW 2 before, you owe it to yourself to pick the title up. The controls are easy to get into, the graphics look great, and there's a load of multiplayer options. You're looking at a fun romp … through the horror of war.

GRAW 2 is full of overblown, brilliant moments with only a sporadic dose of boring levels. [Issue#157, p.82]
  17. GRAW2 may be a few months late but the wait was definitely worth it and patient PS3 owners have been rewarded with one of the best titles for the console yet.

More of the same, but some extra online content for PS3. [Oct 2007, p.85]
  19. Playstation Official Magazine UK
The only real letdown is that you're not really under any serious pressure - the threat of imminent death is an illusion. The spectacle is there: huge explosions, last-minute rescues and desperate stand-offs against impossible odds. But the enemy AI lacks aggression. [Sept 2007, p.100]
  20. The single-player campaign ends way too quickly, but the multiplayer campaign more than makes up for it with several co-op and competitive missions.

    The matchmatching is simply atrocious.
  22. PSM Magazine
It's not too challenging, but is highly rewarding. [Nov 2007, p.77]

Overall, if you liked the first GRAW, you can look forward to more excellent military shooter action, with excellent multiplayer features.
  24. AceGamez
If you also enjoy a bit of multiplayer combat then you should seriously consider drafting GRAW 2 into your PS3 game collection as quickly as possible.
  25. Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 is a little late in coming to the PS3, but it still manages to be one of the console's most thrilling shooters.
  26. Brings a solid multiplayer experience to the Playstation 3 with multiple modes to choose from, and it's worth checking out even if you find yourself currently immersed in "Warhawk" or "Resistance."

Where it is impressive is in the explosion and smoke effects – the combination of high impact sound, bright/expansive visuals and the shake of your camera makes for quite an impact.
  28. Out of the two Tom Clancy games for the PS3 I'd take a look at Rainbow Six first, but both are impressive shooters for all of your military needs.

Ghost Recon as always been an outsider for the more popular licences that are Call Of Duty or Battlefield, targeting the most hardcore gamersGhost Recon as always been an outsider for the more popular licences that are Call Of Duty or Battlefield, targeting the most hardcore gamers that seeks realism over Rambo's games (personally i like both styles). Advanced warfighter 2 is to Ghost Recon what Modern Warfare 1 is to Call of Duty an almost perfect tactical shooter that will serves as reference for all the future Ghost Recon. The graphics were great (at the time), a compelling story, and everything players were wishing for a tactical shooter (from team management to the way your character moves).
And it is a bit funny that as Call of Duty 4, the only cons are the difficulty (too easy even in the hardest mode) and a too short campaign (5-6 hours).

I'm not sure what it is about tom clancy games but i cant seem to enjoy them. i managed to sit through a few stages of ghost recon, it I'm not sure what it is about tom clancy games but i cant seem to enjoy them. i managed to sit through a few stages of ghost recon, it takes a while to ignore the un-godly mess of a HUD on the screen and the over-advanced controls for a 3rd person shooter. it makes up for it in challenging gameplay (what tom clancy games are easy, right?). comparing it to something like army of two, which is basically the same mechanics just much less complicated is why i dont fancy it. but by now its fairly obvious that when you buy a tom clancy game, expect to be lost in a wasteland of advanced commands and extreme combat gameplay.
