  1. The good vastly outstrips the bad: it looks great, it sounds great, it controls great, the experience is solid, the depth is outstanding, the intricacy of the abilities, gadgets, and level design is stellar, and yes, there is online multiplayer. It's a little anemic, but the PS3 version does have the benefit of a few added maps.

I'm a little jaded, having a serious case of déjà vu with this game, but rest assured that those of you without an Xbox 360 are in for a treat. Double Agent is pretty darn bad-ass, and has a flurry of water-cooler gaming moments that will make you smile sadistically.
  3. It's not the easiest game for newcomers to approach (the tutorial's dreadful), but even stealth virgins will see the light after an hour or so in the dark, and probably ought to add another mark to the score. Make ours a double.

A great game for the PS3, but not a great port.

Parachutes fail, chopper pilots die, warheads count down to detonation. All of this makes me wonder, is Sam's heart still in stealth? [June 2007, p.106]

How many games offer moral choices? Double Agent tries this premise and executes it perfectly. I wish more games were like this. The next How many games offer moral choices? Double Agent tries this premise and executes it perfectly. I wish more games were like this. The next game in the Splinter Cell series takes another direction. Don't miss an opportunity to play this unique and thrilling game. I played it on the 360 and it's the same game on the PS3. The graphics are just as good as the 360 version. Too bad Ubisoft didn't optimize the graphics to take advantage of the PS3's superior graphics capabilities. This is a must have game if you like a combination of action, stealth and moral choices that effect the outcome of the game. Expand

The gaming media is dumb enough to drive any PS3 owner to an early grave. IGN gives it a 7.9 and the 360 a 9.0 so everyone is yapping about another bad port for the PS3. Rejoice PS3 owners, they are full of crap. I played both versions and they are practically IDENTICAL. Any issues with clipping and weird glitches were on the 360 version with the added benefit that it would CRASH once in awhile when accessing your wrist computer. Full on game wrecking crash. Aside from that (the PS3 version has yet to crash once) there are no noticeable differences. As for IGN, the articles were written by TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. The guy writing for the 360 LOVES the Splinter Cell franchise... the guy for the PS3 is less of a fan. He complains about bad AI and bad multilayer which are THE SAME in both versions. Most fanboys are too dumb to realize this, and so vocal that I thought I had better point it out. PS3 owners seem to be a little more mature, a little more savvy and thus I'm hoping won't despair and avoid picking up this excellent title. I'm loving playing Splinter Cell, to the extent I have even shelved MotorStorm and Oblivion (for now). Expand

Not good. They ruined it. The base missions are all timed which ruins it, the way you have to balance the factions is terrible, and basically Not good. They ruined it. The base missions are all timed which ruins it, the way you have to balance the factions is terrible, and basically boils down to one mission for the goos guys, one for the bad. And why did they get rid of the light meter. Before you had to judge how safe you were in the shadows, now theres a little light and you're eiyjer invisible or not!! Expand

This game was completely ruined and needs fixed and redone all over again, mainly because it just doesn't work for people who can compare this to Splinter Cell Conviction, and say Conviction is better. Conviction is a way better game than this game. I'm sorry to say, but I really do not recommend this for anyone. It lacks nearly everything possible for interest. Save your money guys. Not recommended at all. Expand

It does not turn into a shooting range, this game of skill, strategy, flexibility of thinking and speed of decision-making. Very cool experience, the same "horror on the wings of night" for those who stand in the way. A lot of quality ideas and actions, and works as it should! I regret that long postponed, but could get acquainted with the version for PS3, and immediately it became clear why hitherto I have not heard about this port.. It is very bad, constant drawdown, the frame around 20, graphics close to the PS2 textures.. Probably was really difficult under the new console to create games, but how it passed quality control I will never be clear. I'll try it on PS2, but the game is really so covers that even in this capacity I stuck for a while. Expand
