The game continues the story of hero Wesley Gibson, picking up the action where the film leaves off and creating an entirely new chapter exploring both Wesley's journey to becoming an unmatched überassassin and the epic fiction of "The Fraternity." Featuring intense third-person action, the Wanted video game will take combat to the next level with iconic moves -- such as "Curving Bullets" and "Assassin Time" -- drawn directly from the film, as well as an innovative, multi-layered cover mechanic. We think Wanted will divide the public, with probably more detractors than praisers. Genre fans, used to mediocre games without souls, should overlook Wanted's flaws and see the braveness and effort in this not so ostentatious production.
  2. For fans of the film, the game is the perfect match. Folks that like action-shooters may be disappointed, because Wanted: Weapon of Fate is too linear and offers too little alternation.
  3. Wanted: Weapons of Fate is like buying a car from a shifty looking guy down an alley. It has some nice features, it works well, it may even be really, really fun, but then you realise that you’re missing a massive chunk of what you paid for and you can’t help but feel somewhat cheated.

Wanted: Weapons of Fate is a very stylish game that uses some very clever and entertaining mechanics and set pieces.
  5. This movie-inspired shooter is fun for a while, but the action becomes repetitive long before you reach the end of the six-hour story.

Those who have seen Wanted should certainly play this game, because the story continuous where the movie has stopped. Other shooter fans, better leave this title out. The game is too standard, and not worth 60 euro for only 3 hours of gameplay.
  7. A half decent storyline and inspired source material do little to conceal the miserable effort Weapons of Fate turns out to be. This is not primetime playing or even pastime stuff, its B-side gaming best left on its own to die an unimportant death. Fans of the movie or the cult comic series by Mark Millar may want to try it, but approach with caution.

I'm a simple man. All I needed from this game to give it a good review was a decent bullet curve mechanic and it delivered.

Besides the bullet curve mechanic working really well the snap cover to cover mechanic worked really well. This game wasn't broken or buggy at all. It was a breeze to get through. Throw in a decently easy trophy list and it all adds up to a mildly fun experience.

It didn't even take me 3 hours to get through the whole thing on the medium difficulty.

But seriously this game is pretty rinse and repeat. There's next to no variation. It's mildly fun for a run through but it's ultimately pretty shallow. The graphics are ok to good for 2008/2009. They didn't get James McAvoy to voice his role but they replaced him with Jimmi Simpson of all people which is sort of random but also awesome so I suppose that's a wash.

Overall I think a 6 out of 10 is pretty fair for this game. I got a decent bullet curve mechanic and it's literally all I Wanted from this game. Sorry. I'll see myself out now.
