For such a seemingly bare-bones title, Alchemic Jousts is sure packed to the brim with stuff to do.

A fun game that is hidden behind an awful beginning that may bore to death to some players.

Alchemic Jousts is a fairly simple game and it is definitely a one trick pony of playing rock, paper, scissors. The ability to unlock more permutations of elements as you progress is a nice aspect to the game, and adds some longevity. Unfortunately the enemy AI can feel super difficult and unfair on the harder settings, but on the easier settings there is some limited gentle fun to be had here.

Starts a bit slow on gameplay and the interaction with the interface gets a bit confusing at times, but I found that the game ended up being much more complex than I expected. The simple rock-paper-scissors style of gameplay becomes pretty deep later on as you progress and get new abilities and units.

I have not tested online play much but it seems like a simple approach similar to the versus mode.

Seems a gmae small in scope, but it seems to provide a lot of gameplay hours and for that I'm giving it positive.

The game seems simple at first sight and start slow, but soon you start seeing how deep the strategy is, the more elementals and spells you unlock. I thought it would be a button-spam to win, but soon becomes obious you have to play smart to win. So far I've been able to play 4 of the 5 game modes the game seems to have, plus a few of the "global changes" in the first games, and they seem to be adding a really interesting variation on each game.

I also found really interesting the combination mini-game you have to do to unlock new skills. If you played doodle-god you will know the system (you combine water and fire, and get Steam as a new usable skill). According to the game it seems there are 180ish skills to discover, which seems insane.
