Big Bash Boom is a fun, flashy, family-friendly cricket game that’s a bit too light on features to make it a must buy.

There’s some quick fun to be had here, but if you want meaningful cricket on consoles, stick with Ashes Cricket.

Big Bash Boom offers an arcade take on T20 Cricket, but ultimately lacks the variety and content to keep users coming back. While its visuals and animations are the high point, an unsatisfying grind to progress through matches and unlock items makes it hard to recommend to anyone that isn’t a die hard cricket fan.

Big Bash Boom's potential is clear. Despite its singular focus making it feel a little barebones when compared to other cricket titles, the shift towards arcade gameplay feels perfectly suited to the relatively flamboyant presentation of the BBL. But it's washed with bugs that affect the core of the experience, and those technical issues make it difficult to warm up to.

This is the kind of cricket game you want to have for multiplayer fun - when you're looking to have a beer or three and press buttons,This is the kind of cricket game you want to have for multiplayer fun - when you're looking to have a beer or three and press buttons, especially with someone who's not so used to cricket games, simulators like Ashes Cricket can be a bit hard to get into. Big Bash Boom is big, silly energy, and it's a lot of fun for that reason. Expand

Do NOT BUY THIS GAME. IT IS BROKEN. The game has so many bugs and omissions it is astounding anyone could release a game in this state. BigDo NOT BUY THIS GAME. IT IS BROKEN. The game has so many bugs and omissions it is astounding anyone could release a game in this state. Big Ant are scummy developers who have released this as a quick cash grab. These guys who have no integrity at all. The game doesn't even have any replays! List of bugs include runs not registering, game freezing, wrong player names and faces matched up, rosters not up to date (For an official licensed product this is shameful), No tutorial of any sorts to explain the game mechanics (catching is not explained and also broken), animations do not reflect what is happening (hit a ball for six and game claims it is 4, also miss the ball and game says you hit it etc.), horrible camera angle which cannot be changed (when batting camera doesn't follow the ball so you don't know if you should run or not), fielders magically teleporting, you can be out on a free hit, you can be run out while in your crease and the game lacks any polish whats so ever. Also the game lacks any replay value whatsoever, there is only a casual, tournament and online mode. It is so bare bones and for the price point you have to wonder which idiot decided this would sell well. This game will flop and badly, which is exactly what it deserves. Hope it puts these developers out of business as well which is exactly what they deserve too. Expand
