It would seem unthinkable but it’s true that the Old Hunters is even more challenging than the main game. Bosses and mobs are here to make our life much harder, but also to make us beg for even more! From Software delivers another unique experience depicted through a beautifully somber environment of which Lovecraft would be proud.

The Old Hunters has questions, has answers, and has some glorious new secrets to be uncovered. If you have already experienced Bloodborne, this add-on is absolutely essential. If you haven’t, it’s the perfect time to join the Old Hunters and journey through the streets of Yharnam and the new nightmares that follow.

The Old Hunters is Bloodborne from another time and place, and with more difficult bosses and confounding stories to unravel, it's a fitting complement to the original, gruesome adventure.

Harsh, unrelenting and imaginative, The Old Hunters is a superb gaming experience and a masterclass in DLC development. [Issue#265, p.74]

A good expansion for one of 2015's best games.

A gruesome descent into hell filled with relentless challenge in every inch, The Old Hunters is a great continuation of Bloodborne, even if it ends feeling rather short and some recycled elements make it lose some luster.

More isn’t bad just for its faults and repetitions. It’s worse than that: Bloodborne was pure—and The Old Hunters dilutes it.

Excellent DLC, excellent and quite interesting locations, bosses are not worse, and many are even better than bosses of the main game.Excellent DLC, excellent and quite interesting locations, bosses are not worse, and many are even better than bosses of the main game. Wonderful musical accompaniment, which only cost the soundtrack in the battle with Lady Mary and Ludwig. Added a huge amount of new weapons, which makes the game even more diverse.

The main game was always "just" as good as dark souls 1 to me simply because I always felt something was missing somehow. And now I know what - the absolute dread and fear and horror that this one specific area delivers. All in all The Old Hunters makes bloodborne the best FROM game there is - at least to me. Simply the amount of new weapons and bosses will surely keep me entertained for anoter 20-50 hours Expand

I played the dlc on new game+++++ and found it very challenging, even though I was close throwing my controller several times I never felt cheated. The satisfaction you get for overcoming though areas and bosses is the best part of this game and the dlc delivers on that.
There a lot of new weapons and some of them are really useful and cool to use. I was a big ludwig blade user in the vanilla game but I found myself leaving that behind and try the new weapons.I instantly fell in love with the Whirligig Saw. The DLC is is full of blood stone chuncks so you don't have to worry about farming them to upgrade your new weapons.
During my play-trough I came across 5 bosses and 3 of them took me very long time to beat. They all feel unique and you have to adept to beat them. The soundtracks during the fights were absolutely amazing.
Overall I feel this is one of the best DLC I have ever purchased and played. Bloodborne fans will love this

Miyazaki's Magnum Opus. Featuring the best levels and the best bosses in Bloodborne, The Old Hunters is without a doubt the best DLC of theMiyazaki's Magnum Opus. Featuring the best levels and the best bosses in Bloodborne, The Old Hunters is without a doubt the best DLC of the souls DLCs. The 3 levels are brilliantly designed, the bosses are brutal with 3 strong contenders for being in the top 10 best bosses in the series, the weapons are badass and you even get answers to several lore plot-holes. What more could you want? The only reason it does not get a perfect score is because 2 of the 5 bosses (Laurence and Living failures) were borderline bad. However, The Old Hunters is damn near perfect, and in my opinion on par with the first half of the original Dark Souls, which is quite the feat. Expand
