Mar 16, 2018Look, it's really simple, Burnout Paradise Remastered is essential for fans of racing games everywhere. They just don't make them like this anymore (but they really, really should).
-
Mar 9, 2018Even if you already own and perhaps mastered Burnout Paradise, this Remastered version is worth getting just to experience the near-perfect racing thrills all over again on your current generation console. Thanks, EA for doing something very cool by releasing this.
-
Apr 2, 2018In the league of arcade racers, it still manages to hold onto its throne, despite improvements made to the online and the way the genre has progressed. These aspects hold it back a little, but as a driving game, there's still nothing that can quite match it, and I look forward to continuously revisiting the game now that it's out on new consoles.
-
Mar 26, 2018This, ladies and gentlemen, is why Burnout is still the best.
-
Mar 20, 2018Burnout Paradise Remastered is a breath of fresh air for the racing genre. It takes the realistic aspects of racing and throws them out the window with fast and furious driving that feels great. The sense of speed achieved as you zip through the streets of Paradise City listening to Soundgarden’s ‘Rusty Cage’ is truly astounding. It’s both frantic and fun.
-
Mar 13, 2018As a reissue, Burnout Paradise Remastered isn't really that special, offering not much more than a fine graphical update together with some DLC, of which the Legendary Cars kind of screw up the strong structure of the game, so you might want to ignore them. But Burnout Paradise remains such a classic; intensely spectacular, bizarrely joyous and with an almost incomparable sense of speed, that this is still a must-have. Too bad it's pretty expensive for a new layer of paint.
-
Apr 6, 2018Anyone looking to smash through the game’s 705 shortcuts, billboards and jumps is a true glutton for punishment, but Burnout Paradise was never made to test players’ skills — it was made to be an escape, which is why the poor difficulty curve is so forgivable. It will always be a pleasure to return to the warm sun and speedy shenanigans of strangers in this familiar place, even if just for a few minutes.
-
Apr 2, 2018If you have extremely fond memories of joyriding in Paradise City, there's nothing more you can ask for in Burnout Paradise Remastered. The improvements are generous, but after 10 years, the core that everyone loves is still structurally sound. It's good to see great games being revived and made available for today's platforms.
-
Mar 24, 2018Burnout Paradise was packed with action and extremely enjoyable arcade racing in its initial release, and this remastered version is equally exciting, if not more, due to the upgraded performance of the current generation of consoles.
-
Mar 16, 2018Burnout Paradise Remastered is still an amazing racing game. The remastered version is not very different from the original, but it is amazing to play this game again on the new generation of consoles.
-
Mar 16, 2018In certain respects, Burnout Paradise aged pretty well: under the revamped visuals and the smooth frame rate, this remastered version keeps the original gameplay unaltered, and that means sheer, chaotic fun and adrenaline-pumping races across Paradise City. Sure, some gameplay elements feel a little older today (where's the fast travel?), but honestly, who cares when you're having so much fun?
-
Mar 15, 2018Ten years on, this is still one of the best arcade racers out there. Hours will be lost just flying around the map being a nuisance, and a few old fashioned decisions won’t dampen the excitement from playing a game this fast and furious.
-
Mar 13, 2018Quotation forthcoming.
-
Mar 11, 2018Burnout Paradise comes to the current console generation to deliver one of the best arcade driving experiences around. This remastered version does not make for a huge difference, but the game is still a sure bet, even 10 years after its release.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKMay 9, 2018Too little remade to justify the price? Perhaps. But we've not had a racing game quite like Burnout Paradise since it debuted. Still essential. [May 2018, p.95]
-
Mar 23, 2018Burnout Paradise isn’t just an interesting piece of history. It feels modern, generous and thrilling, and makes you want to hit the boost button on a Hawker Solo, turn up Avril Lavigne on the in-car radio and plunge through the city all night.
-
Mar 20, 2018While nothing made by humans has yet to withstand the test of time indefinitely, Burnout Paradise Remastered managed to escape the last decade with only a few wrinkles here or there.
-
Mar 19, 2018There are some elements around the edges that haven't aged all that well, but Burnout Paradise is still a fantastic racing game.
-
Mar 19, 2018Wild, adequately beautiful and a reminder of what a real need for speed truly feels like. Burnout Paradise Remastered may not be essential for anyone who has already spent many an afternoon committing its many and shortcuts streets to memory, but as an example of how racing games can fuse euphoria and momentum into one packed package of V8 action? It’s the original benchmark that hasn’t a single ounce of torque.
-
Mar 19, 2018After ten years, Burnout Paradise comes back from where it left itself. Online services are back online and there are plenty of players, to have fun like back in the day. Burnout Paradise Remastered is a charming piece for all the arcade race lovers.
-
Mar 18, 2018On the title’s tenth anniversary, Burnout Paradise Remastered is a timely reminder that – like Avril Lavigne – this arcade racer can still do it better than all of its contemporaries. Seriously, there’s no other like it, so when’s it going to sink in? The only real downside is that the pricing’s stupid – what the hell is EA thinkin’?
-
Mar 17, 2018Quotation forthcoming.
-
Mar 16, 2018Not the best remaster out there but Burnout Paradise is a beast of a game, probably one of the greatest arcade racing game of all time (and now in 4k@60FPS).
-
Mar 15, 2018A classic arcade racer that was always ahead of its time and seems both refreshing, and thoroughly modern, even now.
-
Mar 15, 2018Burnout Paradise holds up, and if nothing else, you can now experience one of the top arcade franchises in the business on your PlayStation 4.
-
Mar 15, 2018Burnout Paradise Remastered is an enjoyable revisit to one of the best arcade-style racers of the era. For PS4 owners who may have missed out or want to go back to Paradise City, this is the package for you.
-
Mar 15, 2018Burnout Paradise is unarguably a stellar racing game and it paved the way for the likes of Forza to do what it has done with its Horizon franchise, so for that there'll always be a place in my heart for it. It's a tough sell for returning veterans as the visual buffs are minimal and the game itself is unchanged. Though if you were too young and didn't get to play Paradise, there's enough here, especially with all of the extra content on-disc, to justify the price of admission.
-
Mar 13, 2018Burnout Paradise is back... again. After 10 years Criterion's masterpiece is still entertaining as hell and looks beautiful on the PS4.
-
Mar 13, 2018Burnout Paradise Remastered is like a finely-tuned vintage car – sure, it’s quirky and a bit archaic, but those concerns melt away once you get behind the wheel and rev that engine. Blasting around Paradise City is exciting, rewarding, and a great low-stress tonic for when modern game design gets you down. Oh, you’ll be pleased to take this one home.
-
Mar 13, 2018It may not be the ground-up remake that other modern classics have been treated to, but this is still a superb open-world racing game that feels like it’ll be loved by fans of the original as well as new players jumping in for the very first time. It may sound cliched, but they simply don’t make them like this any more.
-
Mar 13, 2018Burnout Paradise Remaster bring back Paradise City to the current gen with improved graphic. Even with ten years on his back the game is fresh like ten years ago.
-
Mar 12, 2018It may a look a little basic compared to recent titles, but when it comes to gameplay Burnout Paradise still thrashes the competition. The racing is sublime, the stunts are spectacular, and there’s always something to do round the next corner. It has one of the best soundtracks of any game – and yes that includes Avril – it’s just a shame that some of the mechanics are dated and clunky.
-
Mar 10, 2018Quotation forthcoming.
-
Mar 13, 2018Burnout Paradise Remastered is the result of a slightly lazy modernization work, held up only by the solidity of the foundation on which it was built; a remastering that never touches excellence, but still manages to get by more than doing so excellently.
-
Mar 20, 2018Burnout Paradise Remastered is still on of the most fun racing games on the market and the enjoyment of Takedowns and huge crash is intact. The only drawback is that this remaster is a bit lazy as the visuals haven't improved that much.
-
Mar 17, 2018Burnout Paradise Remastered brings 4K standard on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, and 60 FPS rock solid. Stellar Entertainment reaches the result without effort.
-
Mar 13, 2018Burnout Paradise was a great driving game, but the improvements here aren’t so great to make BP: Remastered feel like a real must-have.
-
Apr 27, 2018Burnout Paradise Remastered is the remastered version of a legendary arcade racing game. Visually, the remaster itself doesn't give you the feeling that you're playing a modern racing game, the game is polished, but it still feels outdated. That being said, it's still fun to play if you liked the original, though now you can play in 4k and 60fps with all DLC included, and with an original banging soundtrack.
-
Mar 11, 2018A paradox. Equipped with a purring, powerful new under-the-hood upgrade, the game delivers a pure driving experience that is on-par with many of its contemporaries in the looks and feel department. Unfortunately, it’s also running on well-worn tires. Some of the quirks, acceptable in 2008, haven’t been ironed out, and the game can feel sparse and comparatively tiny when scaled against later titles.

Mar 12, 2018Playing Burnout Paradise today, something else stands out: the speed.
-
Mar 20, 2018It's a marginal improvement, but it's got one thing the original no longer does: lots of people playing it.
