DARIUSBURST Chronicles Saviours not only provides an authentic arcade experience for a classic shmup, but also reinvigorates the series by adding a great deal of meaningful content that makes it one of the biggest releases for the genre in recent years.

Great game if you like old school Japanese shmups, it is highly polished and the dlc is an amazing fan service.

Yes it's expensive, but it's also a beautifully presented shooter with deep gameplay mechanics, satisfying boss encounters and excellent level design. [Issue#266, p.70]
The main thing that holds Dariusburst Chronicles Saviors back from utter greatness is its price of admission. $60 for a "shmup" may be a bit much for some gamers to ask. However, those who do invest will find Chronicles to their liking, with the number of modes available, the local co-op support, the awesome presentation and the devotion to the series' history. Fans of the genre will definitely get something for their buck.
Hot off the heels of the recent Kromaia Omega, which defied genre conventions at every turn, DariusBurst is there to remind players that traditional 2D shooters can still put up a fight. The arcade mode alone provides dozens of well-spent hours to genre fans and is enough to cover up for the gratuitous padding elsewhere.
DariusBurst Chronicle Saviours is a welcome return for one of gaming’s longest-running series, digging deep into its history to create a modern shooter with a depth of content unmatched in its genre.
DariusBurst Chronicles Saviours perfectly replicates the original arcade experience, and delivers a ton of old-school-feeling shoot 'em up content in the process. However, despite looking and sounding excellent, the action doesn't vary much, meaning that it will likely only appeal to hardcore fans of the series.

DBCS es exigente como los matamarcianos clásicos, y, al igual que ellos, sumamente divertido: su control es fantástico, con un botón para girar la dirección del disparo hacia delante o atrás, y otro para el burst del nombre, una carga de mayor potencia que neutraliza el fuego enemigo; es intuitivo y no será una complicación hacernos a él.
La velocidad de nuestros movimientos no sufrirá en ningún momento de ralentizaciones ni fallos desagradables, ya que es un juego con un acabado técnico eficiente; los efectos de explosiones y destellos son vistosos pero no sorprenden, como sucede con los escenarios, que hacen su papel sin brillo y acusan una reiteración de paisajes.
Darius Burst Chronicle Saviours no es un prodigio visual ni una reinvención de los matamarcianos: apuesta por una jugabilidad clásica y una amplia gama de modalidades, que garantizan una ingente cantidad de horas de diversión.
