It might be decadent, and looking at the screenshots in this review will tell you if it's a decadence that make you uncomfortable, but the gameplay behind it is rock solid and perfectly precise.

Overall, Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is the definitive version of a last gen game. Visually, it still looks great; however, it's still based on a last gen game. A new DoA running on current gen consoles with higher resolution textures can't come too soon, but for now, Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is satisfactory.

Despite the creaks and cracks of the franchise beginning to show, Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is a solid and content-rich debut for the series on current-generation consoles.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is meant for those who didn't play the original game on PS3 and Xbox 360: it's the most complete version to date, brought to you with 1080p and 60fps. Enjoy. The others should keep their money for the sixth episode.

The definitive version of a good fighting game, but the limited visual upgrades for PS4 fall way short of our expectations. [Issue#254, p.68]

While the new additions and the costume collection are nice, the strongest value of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is its clean 1080p presentation on new-gen consoles where it performs cleanly and admirably.

When all is said and done, DOA 5 ends up being a great looking, middle of the road fighter that still heavily relies on absurd female characters in revealing outfits to sell copies.

The combat system does accessible yet deep just right, and there is something for first time fighting game players and seasoned vets alike to find enjoyable in this game. The stun system coupled with the hold mechanic really forces players to delve deep and learn their characters inside and out rather than learn a few optimal pokes and stings, because being too predictable, you will get parried and eat some nasty damage.

Many single player modes as well, including couch co-op for tag versus mode, there is so much to enjoy about this game. This game proves you do not have to sacrifice depth or creativity to be a flashy, pleasing to the eyes fighting game!

The graphics are awesome, but sometimes feel embarrassing when the fighting girls wear swimsuit that are really revealing (while playing with my kids) but are fun to play with my friends. Best for newbies when it comes to fighting but deep enough for hardcore fighting gamers.
