When all is said and done I like the Warmind expansion more than Osiris. It features more likable characters, a more entertaining story, and way better post-game activities. It probably won’t change anyone’s opinion of Destiny 2 – so if you like the gameplay, graphics, sound (amazing score as always), and the story up to this point, Warmind does a great job pushing that experience even higher.

Warmind effectively rounds out Destiny 2’s first year, and represents a franchise in a strange period of transition. The game seeks to maintain some of its successful new features, like better destinations and clan integration, even as it simultaneously tries to recapture some of the magic and investment that characterized its predecessor. The weapon is aiming at the right target, and now it just needs to hit that precision shot.

Destiny 2: Warmind is the new beginning that the franchise needed and the community hoped. The ranking system in the Crucible and the Escalation Protocol are satisfying and very challenging. The only regret is that the main campaign of this expansion could have been more in-depth.

For Destiny 2 fans, Warmind is a good addition to an enjoyable game that doesn’t break the mold, but makes some incremental improvements that make it a worthwhile purchase. For everyone else, there’s little in the expansion that’s going to excite or hold attention if Destiny 2 wasn’t already doing that, making it an easy skip.

Destiny 2: Warmind is still not the expansion that returns those disappointed with the trajectory of the game.

Warmind seems to indicate that Bungie is serious about getting Destiny 2 back on track, although a lot of that could be the result of better updates between expansions, rather than any real excellence from the expansion itself. Still, Warmind is a significantly better expansion than last year's Curse of Osiris and brings back a little of the mystery that made uncovering secrets in the original title so compelling. The Destiny 2 experience might still be a little off, but this is a pretty good place to jump back into the action.

Like its predecessors, Destiny 2: Warmind struggles to justify its price tag thanks to a throwaway campaign and some incredibly tired mission design. The quality of Destiny's core gameplay is still clear to see and the expansion as a whole is dotted with a handful of high points, but it ultimately just feels like the game is purposefully treading water until September's big arrival -- and that's simply not good enough.

IThe people complaining about this game are the same people playing FTP Fortnite and base all of their hobbies on what's the most popular. I base mine off gameplay and off of good mechanics, graphics and sound. Destiny 2 is a well-rounded and underappreciated package, and this DLC is a great extension to the people that stuck with it like me. Expand

If I were rating the UPDATE including the changes unlocked for all players, this would be a 10. Although many of the improvements are separate from the purchase of this DLC, I feel that they complement each-other in a way that elevates the new content beyond its' admittedly lackluster campaign. This update is aimed at endgame content, not story. If the story was amazing and double the length, it would still be burned through in 1-2 days and we would go back to mourning over lack of "reasons to play". I feel that the purpose of the DLC was to catapult you through a few missions and set the stage for the new endgame grind in the form of Escalation Protocol, collectibles and the pursuit of masterworks. They certainly could have made the story content longer and more meaningful while still supporting the endgame, but if I have to choose, I will gladly take longevity. Please note, no review will really be complete until all of the content is released. We have yet to see the new Raid Lair, and if it is anything like the last one it is well worth the $20 price tag by itself (in my opinion). If you enjoy the core of the game, the gunplay and the grind, this is more to sink your teeth into. If you are looking for a drastic overhaul of the core gameplay, I suggest you wait for September when a more comprehensive rework is expected. They are likely to release expansions 1 and 2 along with the September content in a bundle, so that may be a better choice for anyone who is in that camp. I do not think this is a masterpiece by any means, but I do think that a lot of hard work went into this content and it has breathed new life and excitement into the game for me. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Halfway cooked and halfway rare..

Bungie again just burned prominous figures of their games universe..

Ana Bray, while having the potential to have a 30 hours campaign alone with the background of hosting the exo program of Bray and thus coming into some serious moral conflicts by having experiments with humans which resolved also in fatalities while searching for her past,-> , nope Ana bray is a Bubbly anime-style character with few to no lines of text and a cringeworthy last words in the warmind bunker..

Nokris, yet the "lost son" of Oryx, and the one Hive "God" that was not selling his soul to the devil (aka worm gods) doesnt even have screen time as himself,. just a bigger version of the typical hive wizard.. all background story : not even touched..

Xol: yeah, a quite super easy end "boss" .. you can down with a better devils without even breaking in sweat. 10 minutes aaaaaaaand gone.. forever..

Mihalova/the first meeting with the Traveller: the Girl that was actually coding rasputin as a ship AI for the scene that we all saw in Destiny 1 opening cinematic.. those astronauts that were able to see the traveller on mars for the first time.. just a bunch of "Lore tabs" on some eververse armor.. -.-

    good:

    - A total of 85 collectables.. although the reward sequence is completely horrible, the good reward is first , halfway through, the **** reward is at the end.. braindead descision no idea why..

Horde Mode.. yeah come back in 4 weeks and then you might be able to absolve it if you are not a super hardcore player that tries the raid underlevelled and does all milestones on all 3 different characters and the raid and prestige raid.. but by the time the normal person is ready to go, noone will be playing this escalation protocoll anymore.. no idea why bungie has such a bad and hard time to add DIFFERENT difficultiy settings.. 7 waves and all start with 370.. why they could not have the first wave at 350 is beyond me ..

Heroic strikes.. 350 requirement and 340 gear drops.. this is so beyond me.. most of the strikes now take about 20-45 minutes and reward you, outside the questline and the milestone) NOTHING of value. and since you spawn mostly late into the game. with sometimes being stuck in the "join your allies"-loop forever (just die and you can spawn into ) its annoying to say it mild.. ah yes and you can accidentially be outside the strike playlist and therefore this 45 minute you wasted is not even counting towards the milestone..

PvP is stil the boring 4v4 meta with no change whatsoever.. the "go fast update " was a tiny bit patching up some glaring issues but now everyone has adopted and its teamshooting again.. just that now your wounded opponent can run away faster. Competitive is still a horrible timewaste with matches going endless.. 6:5 in countdown is your life slowly fading away., -.-

but you can at least DO something after the first week.

    5 seaph weapons
    5 Bray tech weapons
    45 hepahistos nodes
40 sleeper nodes (emblem , yeha.. not)
and 7 waves of escalation protocoll that you probably wont play .. ever.. until you are a youtube streamer that can easily get 9 people to join..
and 10 light levels per week..
and a raid lair with even more "fail me once-> wipe" mechanics..

i REALLY miss the crotas end "raid" where you could try to solo itjust for **** and giggles..

4 strikes. And some of them are missions...
    TERRIBLE STORY
    1h and 30 min campaing
Lots of buggs and glitches so far on all platforms
Recicled content of Destiny 1 which got taken away and then, well put back under a payed DLC
    More microtransaction features
Super small new map. Its more a compression than an expansion
All the exotic weapon tuning which are positive things arent exclusive of the DLC, so we should not consider the sandbox changes as nice feature of DLC even if both DLC and exotic tuning came on the same update.

    Good thing: new public event

But about this specific case, only fanboys with absolute no sense of criticism and happy to throw away their money for bad low quality contents can appreciate or say something positive about this DLC. Warmind is not a step forward, is just another half step turning on the same spot sold as a path to the Light. Unfortunatly, there are a lot of people that really believe in this, and that's what is killing this franchise.

The Story Campain is short (only 4-5 Missions which one is used as a Strike 'cos Bungie is lazy), horribly narrated (seriously, it's awful) and lack of both originality and personality. Pretty said since in 4-5 Missions we see characters of the Lore and Deep Lore of Destiny like Ana Brey, Rasputin, Xol and Nokris, not exactly some random guys found behind a corner. Bungie's Narrative Team accomplished to create something even worse then the Curse of Osiris. After killed the misterious figure of Brother Vance and the Legendary Warlock Osiris, they killed the last, but actually not last Warmind (Charle Magne, anyone?), Ana Brey and even a Worm God, Xol, and the bnanished son of Oryx, Nokris. Congrats.

DLC's contents are weak. The Progression System is been slowed down, which is good actually, but the way they did this is simply stupid and makes almost all activies boring and frustrating. Strikes are now more difficult, true, but just because enemies have became bullet sponges whic is not fun, 'cos forces the players to shot even more the half of a ammo-magazine against one single basic mob. Again, Strike's Loot is a joke with nothing worththe time spent to accomplish it.

The new End Game Activity it's nothing but a Public Event capped since the beginning at maximum difficulty that requires more then nine players to accomplish it. Problem is the fact that you can't call nine people in your team, so you must wait and hope to find enough people to do it.

The new Raid Lair offers nothing good but what remains of the original raid loot pool that is been divided among three Raids. Again, Bungie is lazy.

And Eververse, of course, still that damn Eververse with Microtransactions.

Last but not least, there are actualy some good improvements like the new vanguard Loot System, Crucible seems more enjoyble now and Shaxxx offers good loot too, and other stuff. Cons: all this stuff arrived too late. Bungie is too slow to make pathces and fixes, and that's what is killing this game more then everything,
