Defense Grid 2 ‘s gameplay is fun enough to deserve some of your time, even though the visuals aren’t what you might hope for on a next-gen system. The game offers an impressive amount of variety in its missions, and coupled with great multiplayer, it’s a solid experience.

The story is worth-while, the balance of tower types, upgrades, and aliens gives you a lot to test your skills against. I thoroughly enjoyed this game because it took what all of us are familiar with in tower defense and made each aspect smarter, higher quality, and better than the usual fare.

Defense Grid 2 has some issues, but ultimately pushes the tower defense genre forward by delivering loads of fun with a quirky co-op story mode campaign and solid online competitive multiplayer modes for a great price.

Though not perfect, Defense Grid 2 presents one of the best tower defence options on the Japanese giant’s shiny black box.

Defense Grid 2 is an enjoyable return to Hidden Path’s dystopian future, though whilst the sequel features a number of improvements some key features of the original, in particular the engaging story, have been lost along the way.

With its massive amount of modes and options its content is worth the asking price.

A nice little treat to fill in the downtime between the big releases. Nothing more, nothing less.

I own a bunch but this is the one I play. I like how u don't have to start over if u made a mistake a few missions back- u just hit the back button for each mission and there u are. Its real easy to learn this game. Fairly easy to get a Gold Medal- unless u are playing in Hard or Elite mode, then good luck. Also there are over 200 additional free maps at DG2freemaps.com. Some of the players learned how to make maps and now we get about 3-4 new maps a month. The new maps are much more interesting (flying enemies and trains for example) then some of the original game maps and you'll need the skill u acquired to survive some of these. Most replayable game I've had. Expand

Love the upgrades, love the range of playability and even add to that 4 difficulties to choose and challenge yourself and friends :) Thank you so much for creating such an awesome game. I hope there will be a DG3 or expansion pack, to keep up the fun :)) Expand

The game is quite challenging, but in a good way, as it rewards your hard work as you get upgrades etc as you progress.

Has some good classic vibes. The story doesn't take itself seriously - at all - and the cringe is kind of charming at times. A fun mindless game.

Defense Grid 2 is a good solid tower defense game. However, it offers a little improvement from Defense Grid 1 .

    Let's see pros and cons

    Pros
    - Still Good addicted tower defense game. Probably the best tower defense game in market (if not DG1)
    - Tower upgraded cards (new in DG2), add huge replayability of the game.
    - Cooldown skills (new in DG2) - Though I personally don't like this feature.
    - Boost (new) - allow designated tower to be able to fire from higher ground

    Cons
    - Outdated graphic ( I don't see any significant improvement from DG1 to DG2)
    - Tower Imbalance [ Concussion is clearly superior to Inferno, and Disruptor makes Tesla obsoleted]
    - Still very few towers and same number to DG1
    - Leaderboard cannot sort difficulties
    - Uninteresting story
    - Removing of air enemies (why ?)

In brief, DG2 is still a fun tower defense game, but for those who have play DG1, you may be disappointed because DG2 is feel more like an expansion of DG1, rather than fresh new game. For new comers, I suggest you buy DG1 Awakening first in PC, the price is very cheap and difficulty is friendly to new comers (DG2 is a bit spike). If you like DG1 and urge for more, then DG2, but don't have high hope.
