This indie game has been awarded for its design. Tarpak and his dog Tarao cooperate to solve some interesting swap-controlling puzzles, facing different game mechanics throughout the whole adventure. But the game shows some control problems. A promising start for a very young studio.
The ideas are great and switching between two characters with very different abilities is a nice touch. I would have like the game to have more of a story and possibly have some sort of character voice acting. Also the game can be hugely frustrating with awkward movement and controls.
I played it and all that I can say is a wonderful game. This game is very original and the kids will enjoy with this game. The game have a entertainment puzzle system where you have to switch between Tarpak and Tarao to get pass the level. There is not a violence here so I recommend it :)
Dogchild is a gem for animal lovers . It is a big step that a game will help convey such importants values.
You can spend a fun time playing it. It is a good initiative and I love the idea.
The most heartwarming thing about this game is its a tribute to the lead developer's sadly deceased dog companion. For that reason alone anyone who has ever had a beloved pet really owes it to themselves to experience this one.
Por fin un juego entretenido en el que no hay que matar a nadie ni conquistar el mundo.. simplemente ayudar a los animales... Simplemente Genial!! Bravo Animatoons.
Algún glich si me he encontrado pero... ¿Que juego no lo tiene?.
Perfecto para los mas peques de la casa.
The Adventures of Tarpak and his dog Tarao fighting an evil corporation that experiments with animals, you must play with the two characters inviting their skills. Play as Tarao is great, seeing the world through the eyes of a dog is a success, this and not basing the game on violence makes it perfect for the little ones ;)
Dogchild offers up a lot of great ideas, but sadly it has a lot of bumps along the way. The game is about a boy named Tarpak and his dog Tarao as they "fight crime" together and try to save animals. The game does feature a cool puzzle system where you have to switch between Tarpak and Tarao to get through certain areas, and the targeted audience being for young children so they learn to be nice to animals is a great premise for a game, but the mechanics and controls fail over and over again. The combat is pretty bad. I got surrounded and shot with a taser several times by the guards, and the time it takes to knock out and tie up a single guard always seemed like just enough time for every other guard to get to you. The controls are not intuitive, and don't work very well. A very wonky game. It is also quite short, but I was ready for it to be over, sadly. A good try, and good ideas, but unless you are setting this up for someone young it isn't something I would recommend.
5.2/10
Instead of Dogchild, Sony should have called it Dogturd. This is going to be hard to beat for worst game of 2016. Supposedly a 3D parkour stealth game but fails at every level. The game runs poorly and the horrible graphics run at an uneven framerate that is noticeable and nausea inducing. It hard to figure out which controls worse when you are the **** dude or the hilariously bad looking dog. The only entertainment could be from streamers making fun of this piece of crap. Sony WTF?
Where do I begin. This game looks and feels poorly made. It's buggy as hell and looks like something that wouldn't pass last gen, let alone this gen. The story is non existent. This entire game looks worse than the kind of game kids would submit as a class project and just feels like a cheap cash grab.
SummaryDogchild tells the story of the young and enigmatic Tarpak, an impulsive and courageous dude with extraordinary abilities: a strong sensory union with nature and a special symbiosis with his inseparable dog, Tarao.
