Doughlings: Arcade is well worth the asking price. The game has lots to offer, such as a good amount of achievements, the ability power ups and the overall content. There are so many levels to go through it will keep you busy for hours! There may be a couple of tweaks that are required here and there, but there's nothing I can see by playing that would make me want to put the controller down.
The sheer amount of content, and the low price that it comes with, should see anyone with even a hint of passion for the brick smashing genre give Doughlings: Arcade a shot.

Wanted to try out on XBOX for system/controller checking, so here's my first review;
After playing the sequel 100+ hours, I wanted to come and check what was the first game all about. I was expecting another shooter but turns out it's an Arcade Brick-Breaker! System is different but the main DNA is overall the same. Before the Invasion, our protagonist Morpheus, tries to saves its people, so rather than banishing Invaders with weapons this time, he cures it's people with the ball he invented. We simply throw & catch the ball, not to destroy but cure our friends to finish the stage. I've found out that, the DNA mechanic implemented to sequel thanks to its successor Doughlings Arcade. It was a clever and fun aspect, which felt fresh and unique for the game. It also made us take harsh decisions in the nick of time. There are different characters except Morpheus which I found entertaining. Doughlings: Arcade is an insanely fun game, just like it's sequel and Im happy that I've gave it a shot! I'll also try in other hardwares and let you guys know bout my experiences. I definitely recommend this game, especially for brain exercising, it's a great stress killer, unlike it's sequel! :)

There had never been a time when I didn't enjoy your run of the mill brickbreaker game. From Arcades to my first Amiga to my first BlackBerry, I've been sharpening my breakout skills for several decades now. Doughlings: Arcade definitely put me in the 5th gear from the moment I downloaded it, all the way through the sweet story mode, and all the way through the depths of the level creation engine.
First off this game has really cool designs. The characters and the backstory is a adorable as it can be. The original world created for this game universe seems sizable and expansive. The controls are hella smooth and the power ups are incredibly satisfying. So much so that when the timer on them runs out you are left wanting more, which in turn makes you work harder to achieve the upgrades in the RPG style lab that enables you to keep the upgrades for longer and utilize even further satisfactory versions of the Show off attacks.
There were 75 regular levels across 3 worlds that were different enough from each other to keep things novel. Additionally there were 15 secret levels where the goal of the level changes and it becomes more of a strategic battle. I actually wish there were more of these alternative secret levels. You keep facing more enemy varieties as the game goes along and it helps things never get stale.
The level creation engine is made pretty robustly and I did end up spending a good bit of time on it. Playing games is one thing but designing them seems to be a whole other art form. At first I fumbled all over myself while trying to create levels. But then I played through the story mode again with a critical eye and picked up on a lot of design elements that I was able to express myself with in the engine. I enjoyed the fact that so many other players from all around the world and across platforms played my levels and I don't even have the top score in some of them.
This game is the most technically advanced edition of a quintessential arcade classic. Considering how cheap it is, it is an incredible value. Just grab it and power it up whenever you feel like breaking some bricks, as you've probably been doing for decades at this point.

The game remains compelling throughout the entirety of play by introducing new features at a decent pace across its broad content, ultimately ensuring that any sense of repetition is kept at bay.
If you love brick-breaking games then Doughlings: Arcade would be a decent addition to your collection. Its lackluster presentation and simplistic core gameplay weigh down the fun but it's still a rather enjoyable little game.
The game is a very solid (and long overdue) entry into the genre and an excellent buy at $4.99. While it pays homage to the roots of the brick breaker games it also borrows mechanics from others games, namely RPGs, in how it has a lab in which you can spend resources to upgrade your character. The level creation engine is a boon that keeps on giving and packs incredible amounts of content into such an affordable entry.

Traditionally, I am not an avid XBOX fan but my wife's penchant for gaming meant that our attic is now fully stocked with the next gen consoles. Naturally, I had to make sure that I get my fix of my favorite brick breaker when the wife's on the switch console, so I swinged for the XBOX version as well. Same quality and slight better controls than the PS4 and PC version (or it could be the controller) but it feels like home clearing my way through these colorful aliens.

There’s colour packed throughout the visuals and the accompanying sound design combines well with these visuals making the gameplay more fun. In terms of content the game has a decent amount for you to be getting on with and I’m pleased to say that there is also a decent amount of replayability present as well. Technically the game holds up really well throughout your playthrough and the controls thankfully remain tight and responsive as well. The gameplay is a huge amount of fun and the easy to pick up and play style combined with the different mechanics means repetetiveness isn’t an issue.
I was very surprised by the game’s story because I must admit that I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. I enjoyed the sound design it would’ve been nice if there was a little more in terms of variety when it came to the music in the game. This is only a small gripe but I thought the game was a little on the easy side and it would’ve been nice to have been seriously challenged from time to time. Does Doughlings: Arcade do enough to get a recommendation from me? Doughlings: Arcade is an absolute blast to play and without a doubt this is a game I can see myself revisiting time and time again. It’s a game that keeps everything simple which in turn makes itself accessible to a number of different gamers and this of course means everybody can enjoy what this game has to offer. In terms of issues the game doesn’t have too many at all and when it’s all said and done it gets far more things right than it gets wrong which means you can enjoy this fun and relaxing brick breaking style game for many hours without basically suffering with any frustration, which is very rare when it comes to a game of this ilk.

Summary Doughlings brings unique gameplay mechanics through its interesting characters and the world while combining together the best that all known Arkanoid games have to offer, polished with a modern look and design.
