Blends the complexity of realistic simulation with inviting mechanics and gives just enough leeway to evoke heart-pumping power and intensity in every kind of racing fan.

Driveclub is like the car genre version of Destiny. It’s very focused on community and it will prosper or not under this premise. If there’s interest shown by the community, then we have a game that can endure for several months, but otherwise, the whole effort it will be in vain.

A few less serious forms of racing would do a lot to improve to the experience and catapult it into the same realm as the greatest of arcade racers, but what’s on offer represents a commendable attempt at changing the way we think about how competition is served in a racing game.

It's a fun and engaging arcade racer, but the focus on the social activities isn't supported well enough by a rich infrastructure. Surely, there's potential, and DLCs will strengthen the offerings, but right now the fun definitely ends too soon.

If you don’t have PS+, then definitely wait for it to hit $20 or so since this is going to be a love it or hate it kind of experience.

The dearth of content and poorly implemented online systems make Driveclub feel incomplete. Coupled with the fact that PlayStation Plus members get a reduced-content, but fully featured, version of the game with their subscriptions, there’s little reason to buy the full game.

It just isn't much fun to play. The core act of driving a car feels off in a way that completely put me off of playing the game. Without that in place, the rest of it just falls apart. The PlayStation 4 has been without a serious racing option since launch, and Driveclub doesn't fill that gap.

Seems like there's tons of content, lots of gorgeous cars, tracks, nice progression system, multiplayer, interesting time trial mode which slams real player ghosts at you (when you beat one you get the next up in rank instantly)... just lots of things done very well. Looks like a hugely underrated game. Thumbs up to the developers! Expand

There are many more tracks and cars, online play is stable (with a few hiccups here and there), challenges work, the weather system has been implemented and the gameplay has been tweaked in response to people's requests. e.g.Corner and collision penalties are not as severe as they were at launch.
All in all it is a great package with benchmark setting visuals, amazing sound, a tight driving model, varied tracks and locations and a wide range of cars which handle very differently.
    It's an awesome game.

-- Wait for the free version --

Driveclub has many problems. Even when the game is working properly it's both bland and solid.

The in-game sound reminds me a lot of the original playstation. it's there, but it isn't great. music is fast paced electric genre. there doesn't seem to be many songs though. most engines don't have a personality and the off-track noises sound ripped out of ps1. it's quite awkward. that word really sums this game up. it's not bad or good. it's awkward.

The handling isn't like any other racer i've played. it does what you don't expect it do it. it's pretty easy to drive yet you never really know if the wheels will lose grip or not.

The AI is odd too. sometimes they all follow each other in a line. other times they will give you a ram. there's a little bit of 'catch up' if you fall behind. but you won't generally get 3 seconds ahead.

The car list is the biggest problem with the game. (except for online still struggling to work a week after launch) it's ALL euro cars. yet there's no lamborghini. there's also no true american cars or japanese cars. but there's some hot hatches which are each very boring to race with. again, awkward is the key word.

there's not many modes. there's drift (which is actually powersliding because you don't really drift. there's assists that you can't turn off which prevents you from drifting) then there's standard races. that's it. so single player is pretty vanilla. the tracks are okay. not professionally designed but some are pretty good. others are just there...

The graphics are nice and the clubs are a decent feature. it's a very accessible game but there's not a lot to do. this game has awkwardness that just left me confused which has never happened to me before.

The online features didn't live up to the hype, and the AI in single player had super cars touching which would make the player spin out too frequently. Expand

It is great game on the other hand but if you could do more on the game it would be greater. I enjoy playing this game online as you can compete with others and interact more. Drive club is a game which is great fun and exciting as you have to complete mission in order to unlock more cars this makes the game more challenging. A good thing about the game is that you can also connect the ps4 steering wheel and enjoy the game more. Expand
