I am truly blown away by how gorgeous this game looks. From every angle and every vantage point, the sprawling, desolate city has been created in vivid detail and the lighting effects help to create a sense of realism to your plight that can even make you feel a little like this event could actually happen.

Dying Light is a breath of fresh air in such an already well-known genre the games involved with the zombi universe. The mix of parkour and walking dead makes the offering a fancy result, with few technical issues.

Fun and good looking, but hardly revolutionary. That would be the perfect definition for dying Light, which seems to conform with just introducing parkour mechanics to justify its spin on the zombie games genre.

Although a sound game, Dying Light just falls short of greatness.

Techland proves with Dying Light that the zombie genre has potential to grow. The parkour system works great, the setting is fresh and killing undead is always good. On the other hand there are cliches, boring missions and stolen inspiration, which are keeping this game from really getting good grades.

Dying Light desperately tries to be all of the videogames in a bid to impress everybody. If only it had tried as hard to be its own thing, we’d have had an amazing horror game on our hands. Instead, we just have another indistinct jack-of-all-trades to throw on top of the ever growing pile.

The world is huge, and it is packed with stuff which makes it truly feel like a real world, with stores, cafes, hospitals, warehouses which all can be visited and looted. The story is a bit silly sometimes, but it still is well executed with cutscenes blending into the game perfectly. The story might not be super serious, but it still always push you forward in a fast pace, where you always feel like you want to know what was going to happen next. To give you an example (no spoilers, this is not the real story) you go on a mission, the mission ends with someone getting kidnapped. In the next mission you save the person after getting caught, tortured and having to escape through various dramatic scenes., And then the mission ends with a terrorist group placing a bomb in your base. You gotta save them before it's too late, everyone is screaming for you in the radio. RUN! The game always put up these cliffhangers so that you want to push forward in a fast pace. And I love it. Sure, the game can become a bit repetive after some time. But for someone like me, that only want to visit a realistic big city, which feels both living (no pun intended) and real, this it the perfect game. You can play it how you want, and create your own story. This is a perfect sandbox game, and I can't stop playing it. Expand

The story is strong compared to Dead Island, the Parkour matches and sometimes is even better than Mirror Edge's. The Combat is actually awesome, incredible addictive. When you go alone to the city it makes you thrill , this game is actually good, nothing like people were saying.

Graphics on PS4 are amazing, this is one of the best looking game so far on PS4 catalog.

Physics and ambience are absolutely superb at this title. Ive played about 2 hours and i can say this is a good game, it could get to the point that it will be boring, but lets hope it does not happen.

What I mean is that it doesn't happen often that a game can totally submerge me into the "set" if you will. Just like The Last of Us, Dying Light is a Vast, and beautiful play ground. Sure, starting off the main character in Dying Light (Crane) is a bit under-powered, which makes fighting zombies real difficult. NEWSFLASH! It is supposed to be. :-) Part of what submerged me in this game is the realization that Crane is not a super soldier that blows everything up and puts fifty bullets into anything that moves. He is a survivor. He survives, not dominates. That being said, as you progress in the game you will experience the almost perfect skill tree system. Survivor, Agility, and power are what you can choose from and each category has (I think 20 or so) different skills to choose from. Survivor points are awarded mostly after completing story missions, and quests. Power points are awarded for each zombie, or goon killed. Agility (which is probably what I find most fun) is awarded by "parkouring" your way around the huge map called Harran. The parkour was the highlight for me. If you know what to look for, and you will after some play time, you can move seamlessly and almost effortlessly across village rooftops or highway car pileups. A lot of people are reminded of Mirrors edge when playing this game. I have never played mirrors edge so I cannot say I agree, but I will say that this is a MUST play. Techland out-did themselves. I tried and tried to get into the Dead Island games but i did not like them at all. I just didn't much like the overall "attitude" of the game. It was hard to take seriously, but this came has risen to my top 10 for sure. Give it a try. Expand

while the first part is kinda dull, and i found myself unsatisfied with the game, playing out of boredom
the second half kicks ass. everything is better - map design and movement, missions, side quests, enemies, even the protagonist becomes more 'real' as he starts randomly commenting surroundings. not mentioning dialogs and voice acting that are way better in the second half
how is that even possible ? no idea, but i know that if you bounce back after starting the game you should really have that in mind that the longer you play the better it gets and just push forward.

    first half 6/10, 2nd half 9/10

p.s how could they not include homemade bows and flamethrowers from the very beginning (pre future DLC) - that sucks badly

A game based on zombies and parkour. Where both elements are poor and not-funny at all.
Really a bad game, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone
