This is truly one of the best racing games you'll ever play.

While classic content and damage still feel underwhelming and the formula has been tweaked rather than reworked, this has the best career mode in any racing game. [Issue#154, p.91]
  3. Sep 14, 2018
Yet again Codemasters proves that knows very well how to deliver a superb racing game, a game that hits all the rights spots and offers great gameplay with superb sense of speed, many interesting modes to keep us occupied for a long time and all the goodies the F1 Championship is known for.
  4. Sep 7, 2018
F1 2018 doesn’t skimp on technically deep and rigorous racing, but its approach to appease both hardcore F1 fans and curious racing fans alike make it a title that has a much broader appeal than just the sport itself. It’s a gorgeous package with smartly designed content to keep you entertaining on and off the track, and just a darn fine racing experience around every corner.

It took four Formula One games on the current console generation, but with F1 2018, Codemasters finally succeeds in most areas. Most of the bugs are gone, the tracks look better than ever, the career mode is deeper, and the physics are improved. The only thing we miss is more variety outside of the excellent career mode.
  6. Aug 27, 2018
F1 2018 is brilliant, and the most complete Formula One game to date. The changes to career mode make it the strongest and most appealing it’s ever been thanks to the revamped upgrade system, while the simulation-like additions to the driving model bring you closer than ever to the feeling of sitting on the grid with 1000+ horsepower at your feet, without overwhelming those who just want to jump in and drive.
  7. Aug 17, 2018
It's easy: if you love Formula 1, then F1 2018 is a must have.
  8. Aug 17, 2018
This game has taught me a little more about patience in this type of sim game and has allowed me to open my mind to the possibilities of new gaming opportunities.
  9. Oct 9, 2018
Continually evolving with each new iteration, F1 2018 is still the definitive F1 racing game. Just don’t expect any new game-changing mechanics or additions.
  10. Aug 17, 2018
Racing games are all about strapping yourself in behind the wheel and chasing that checkered flag, but you can’t forget all the hard work put in just to get you to the start/finish line in the first place. F1 2018’s excellent career mode skillfully lets you enjoy the fruits of both labors.

Don't expect huge changes over last year, but this is still a better game both on and off the track. [Nov 2018, p.82]
  12. Aug 20, 2018
The best Formula 1 game ever made by Codemasters. It brings you a truly experience, very close to the reality, It doesn't affect thought to the feeling that you are actually playing a videogame, It's a funny experience. It's great to see the improvements in the career mode and the things they are putting on to improve the on-line multiplayer mode. There are details still left to enhance, like the after sessions, qualification and races interviews, they can turn into something repetitive, or they way classic cars are introduced into the game. Despite all of these, Codemasters has done a great work, for example, with the IA, the visual aspect it's great too and with introductions of different elements that have created the career mode something more fresh and original.
  13. Aug 18, 2018
Another great entry for the F1 games made by Codemasters.
  14. Aug 17, 2018
The additions perfect a remarkable proposal that enjoys the balance of pleasing the purists of the sport and those who want only to enjoy the F1 races without difficulties.
  15. Aug 17, 2018
Codemaster’s F1 2018 is a great racing game. If you love the sport and aren’t afraid of the simulation genre, this is a definite must-have. With all-new features in career, more realistic car behaviour and graphics, improved AI and lots more, this is not just a lazy sequel but so much more.
  16. Aug 17, 2018
Compared to last year, this is “just” an evolution, but captures motorsport perfectly once more and gives you one of the best careers in racing games.
  17. Sep 7, 2018
For fans of racing genre, F1 2018 is a must have, and even though some minor issues like AI may sometimes affect the overall gameplay experience, F1 2018 remains a solid racing simulator.
  18. Sep 3, 2018
Codemasters expanded last year on the 2016 base game and they're doing the same thing for the 2018 iteration. F1 2018 is the best Formula 1 game to date since there is more depth than ever, more classic cars to use and many more features. If you're a fan of the sport, you're in for a good time yet at the same time the penalty system still is as inconsistent as it ever was and the AI can pull some weird stunts from time to time.
  19. Aug 28, 2018
F1 2018 takes the series a step further, with many small and big enhancements and tweaks to polish its gameplay, as well as new options and modes. It is exactly what we expected, and it's one of the best entries in the series.

It is remarkable how far Codemasters have come with the F1 series and F1 2018 has proven that a move towards simulation can be done without alienating casual players. Finally a spectacular Formula 1 experience for simulation fans.
  21. Aug 23, 2018
F1 2018 features the finest handling and force feedback for a dedicated F1 game to date, some welcome visual improvements, and a career mode that does a better job than ever at capturing the nuances of the world’s most-popular motorsport.
  22. Aug 21, 2018
Not the ultimate F1 videogame, but it's in the right road to the victory.
  23. Aug 20, 2018
F1 2017 was great and we didn’t expect much more with F1 2018. And we were wrong. Driving is more demanding, Career mode gets richier and visuals are finally on the same page. This is greatness.
  24. Aug 20, 2018
Career is actually more complex, although some elements still appear to be deficient and in need of attention, starting from the outline interviews.
  25. Aug 17, 2018
A complete and satisfying Formula 1 game, polished and updated.
  26. Aug 17, 2018

Unlike the 2017 edition, F1 2018 failed to surprise me with the scope and depth of changes it introduces to the series. Basically it is the 2017 edition, but a bit fresher, a tad more modern and somewhat more realistic, which makes it a very good game. [11/2018, p.78]
  28. Sep 3, 2018
F1 2018 is a very good racegame that is a great fit between realistic and easy playable. There are not a lot of innovations to the series.
  29. Aug 26, 2018
F1 2018 is a very good opus that brings some interesting new stuff like the ERS management, the media system and a deeper R&D tree. The basis is still found in lat year's game, and it's a very good game for F1 and racing fans alike.
  30. Aug 24, 2018
It’s not often that a game opens you up to a whole new sport, but if you give F1 2018 some time, it will do that. Fans of sim racing should give this one a look, even if they’re more into street cars and exotics. Why wait to unlock the most amazing cars in the world when you can start behind the wheel?
  31. Aug 24, 2018
F1 2018 nails the feeling of Formula 1 like few racing games ever have.
  32. Aug 24, 2018
The virtual Formula 1 of Codemasters in its best incarnation. Now there are not (almost) more excuses.
  33. 80
F1 2018 remains a competitive racer. The improvements to career mode might not hit all the marks but they do make for a more involved experience. Presentation has been improved with the visuals and audio doing a great job of creating atmosphere whilst the handling appears to have been tightened up to provide a more enjoyable time behind the wheel.
  34. Aug 22, 2018
The new iteration offers Formula One fans a near perfect simulation of the sport, complete down to the last technical detail, but the assist settings and satisfying racing make it a viable racing option for even those with cursory F1 knowledge.
  35. Aug 20, 2018
F1 2018 brings the complete Formula One experience to your cockpit. Featuring the new rule changes, a new handling model and a deeper Career Mode, racers are in for a different experience over F1 2017. The biggest gripe is with the A.I., which would most likely see some improvements as there is a patch due at launch. Cars shine beautifully and player models are the most realistic the series has seen. Having the F1 television graphics help complete the overall Formula One experience. Codemasters has established its own branch of racing simulation with F1 2018.
  36. Aug 17, 2018
F1 2018 takes the existing blueprint and adds many small elements to create one reasonably sized step forward. There are enough differences here to warrant a purchase over last year’s edition. F1 2018 is easily the best Formula 1 game yet, but next time, small changes may not be enough.
  37. Aug 17, 2018
F1 2018 is still a game that shines on the track, then. Forget speaking to journalists in the confines of a press paddock – this is a sport about being at the cutting edge of technology, inches from a solid metal barrier, in the sunny streets of a tax haven. And god bless it.
  38. Aug 17, 2018
With challenging racing and a diverse car management system, F1 2018 is filled with endless opportunity. Although undeniably similar to last season’s effort, small changes have improved the overall experience enough to merit a revisit. And, ultimately, F1 2018 takes the chequered flag as the best F1 instalment to date.
  39. 70
Has F1 2018 done enough to render last year’s (excellent) title redundant? Probably not. But if it has been a few years since your last F1, absolutely give this one a go. The racing market is a crowded one, but F1 is pure racing, and the sport doesn’t get much more exciting, or strategic, than this one.
  40. Sep 5, 2018
F1 2018 will likely test the patience of the sim-racing side of its audience, who have increasingly high standards. Ultimately, whilst being drip-fed improvements in incremental fashion, it seems unlikely that Codemaster's F1 franchise will make any grand leaps towards meeting the lofty standards set by dedicated racing simulators.
  41. Aug 17, 2018
It must feel lonely at the top, but F1 2018 does forget to make changes to the faults of F1 2017. It still is a very deep Formule 1 game with challenging gameplay options.

Worth buying, even if you have last year's game. It's really good. [Ars Technica Approved]
  2. Aug 17, 2018
There's no big feature to point towards, but small improvements make F1 2018 stand out as a superlative racer. [Recommended]
  3. Aug 18, 2018
Codemasters still delivers enough immersion and participation in this fantasy to keep it from feeling repetitive, even if on paper, it sounds like it should be.
  4. Aug 24, 2018
It’s a good racing game, but it’s a great game about being an F1 driver, and all the intangibles that they have to put on the balance sheet.

Visually stunning, graphically awesome,Firstly let me take this moment to congratulate Codemasters on what is the best looking F1 game ever. Visually stunning, graphically awesome, ok the real drivers aren’t perfect but is close. But for me it’s the gameplay that takes the crown. So the game opens with you picking your driver, trying to pick someone who likes me, always fun, from face, helmet, then name and nationality. Then the menu screen. Forget the rest and pick career mode. This is where like all the critics have raved about the biggest improvements on last years. And let me say this, you will want to play all 3 practice sessions ok. Let me explain. You are given little challenges to complete and in the process get yourself up the leaderboard and get that number one spot. Then qualifying, oh wow it’s a one shot one lap shootout, but the great thing is the lead car is a ghost, say it could be Vettel or Hamilton, or anyone for that matter, beat the ghost car in one lap you've bagged pole position. And just to note for those new to this, well there isn’t many of us new to it when it comes watching this great sport but playing it is a very different animal. Just start on beginner and go from there. To sum it up, the greatest F1 game ever made. Full Review »

I wouldn't say I'm a hardcore sim racer but the handling feels amazing. You really notice the tyre performance change depending on wear/rain. Speaking of rain, the dynamic weather adds to the already top notch graphics. After rain you'll notice the sun shine through onto the track & grandstands just a little bit more each lap.
Plenty of game modes as well so replayability is high.
I'm yet to play online so can't comment on that. Keen for it though.

The only flaws I see are in the inconsequential stuff in career mode, like in the interviews you don't even have time to read the responses let alone choose one. & the animations are all the same before each session.

A must buy if you have a wheel and don't already have F1 2017
