Overall, a great experience for F1 and racing fans. I will probably play the career mode alongside the real life F1 2019 season in future.

Simply the best-ever reproduction of this high-speed, high-tech motorsport. It’s very familiar, but nonetheless noticeably superior to the 2018 game. Essential. [Issue#165, p.85]

F1 2019 once again delivers the excellence that we've come to expect from the franchise. Any complaints belong firmly in the 'nitpicking' category.
  4. Jun 28, 2019
F1 2019 is yet another strong step forward for the now decade-long franchise, with a ton of refinements over last year's game as well as some great new features to help elevate it to a new level. The Formula 2 cars are superb to handle, and the new additions to career mode, like driver swaps, add some much-needed drama and excitement that real Formula 1 has been missing for some time now. F1 2019 is a masterclass in how to make an engaging and alluring racer, and once again stands tall on top of the podium.
  5. Jun 28, 2019
F1 2019 is extremely impressive, and may be the racing sim on the market with the best balance between sheer enjoyment and a dedication to realism. The added features to this year's entry make it worth picking up even for those who purchased its predecessor, and it's effectively a must-have for fans of the sport in general. Be prepared to sink hour after hour into this one.

This year, Codemasters has reached another level of greatness with its F1 2019. Great career mode and improvements on the AI is enough to turn F1 2019 into one of the most memorable racing games of these past years.
  7. Jun 27, 2019
F1 2019 makes itself available to a bigger audience than ever before with its considerate difficulty curve and fan pleasing content additions.
  8. Jun 24, 2019
Simply put, F1 2019 is fantastic. There’s enough here to take you well into next season (and beyond), while the Career Mode has finally shaken off the cobwebs to emerge as a genuinely thrilling highlight that players will pump hours and days into.
  9. Jun 24, 2019
F1 2019 encompasses the breadth of experiences, car choices, track choices that provide a far deeper experience for the player than would be available in a generic sim. That depth truly demonstrates the complexity of not only the hardware, but the ever-changing conditions during a race. The updated graphics make use of more sophisticated lighting conditions, but most of the game will be familiar from last year. Formula 1 is the most sophisticated, expensive, unique, and popular auto racing league on the planet; it would take close to a decade to build a game/simulator to do it justice in all of its beauty and complexity. F1 2019 might have just accomplished exactly that.
  10. Jun 24, 2019
Excellence in Formula One. That's what comes to mind when it comes to summarize the qualities of F1 2019. Extremely complete, very well thought out at all levels, this 2019 edition has everything to seduce. Whether you are a motor sports enthusiast or a fan of the series, you will not be disappointed. Gentlemen, start your engines.
  11. Jun 21, 2019
F1 2019 is exactly what it’s supposed to be: the best of its kind, at least until next year.
  12. Jun 21, 2019
While the F1 series by Codemasters celebrates its tenth birthday, F1 2019 is the best ever with revamped graphics and a nice Formula 2 addition.
  13. Jun 26, 2019
For all the hardcore racing gamers who love to geek out over the various different cars, the realistic tracks, and put the pedal to the metal, this is your nirvana. Now if you’re anything like me, someone who doesn’t watch Formula1 or know a whole heck of a lot about cars, but just likes the humdrum of sexy ass vehicles, you’ll still have a ton of fun with F1 2019. If you’re completely new to the genre, you might find it a bit difficult at first, and it could even be a bit intimidating, but before you know it, you’ll be having just as much fun as the fanatics. Unequivocally the F1 series is at the top of its game, with this latest title leaving past 11 titles in a cloud of dust.
  14. Jul 3, 2019
You should play F1 2019 not just because you’re an F1 fan or the hottest thing that’s ever gotten in a cockpit. Do it because you want to experience the thrill, the heartbreak, and the satisfaction of competing at ridiculously high speeds. Trust me, you do.
  15. Jun 26, 2019
A great racing game that doesn't improves a lot over previous iterations of the franchise but does small advancement that will satisfy almost every F1 fan out there.
  16. Jun 21, 2019
F1 2019 is a consistent development. At the same time, the developers actually succeeded in further improving the already excellent driving feel of F1 2018. The sheer amount of small improvements is almost overwhelming for an annual update.
  17. Jun 21, 2019
Ten years after getting the license, Codemasters keeps showing its commitment with Formula 1. Thanks to the small improvements here and there, F1 2019 is one of the most complete Formula 1 games ever made.
  18. Jun 27, 2019
This is the best entries in the series so far. It not only delivers an excellent simulation, but also a great amount of modes and content, including F2 and classic cars.
  19. Jul 9, 2019
A little step forward in the series, but still the best option to compete virtually in a F1 (and now F2) race.
  20. Jul 5, 2019
Suffering from a relative lack of polish with collision bugs and a few hiccups, F1 2019 manages to impose itself as the best F1 game available thanks to its awesome AI and generous content.
  21. Jul 4, 2019
F1 2019 is a very, very good game – the best F1 game to date – but it definitely doesn’t always seem like a new game.
  22. Aug 6, 2019
I’ve never been a racing fan, but I’ve always had the impression that it’s a couple of steps above the likes of NASCAR and Indy car racing. That’s an impression borne out by F1 2019, and it means that anyone who wants a real racing game challenge would be well-advised to check it out.
  23. Jul 19, 2019
Codemasters shows something new in F1 2019. Especially offering Formula 2, transfers of drivers and an accessible multiplayermode really takes F1 to the next level.
  24. Jun 21, 2019
F1 2019 adds the FIA Formula 2 race cars and some minor improvements to the celebrated formula of its official racer, plus the epic rivalry between Senna and Prost in the Legends Edition of the game. An episode which is more about new content than structural changes. And that is okay.
  25. Jul 9, 2019
While the Legends edition content remains a bitter disappointment and not worth investing in, the bad taste it leaves in one’s mouth isn’t enough to sour one of the best yearly sports franchises on the planet. F1 2019 is a fantastic representation of its sport, and while this year is more evolution than revolution, there’s enough here to keep fans coming back.
  26. Jul 8, 2019
F1 2019 is another great instalment to the ongoing Codemasters’ franchise of F1 games. Although it presents a bulk of quality of life updates, short story mode, and F2 license, it still isn’t much of a big upgrade from last year.
  27. 80
Codemasters have managed to improve their F1 game once again in 2019, and have added another entire echelon of cars and drivers from the F2 proving ground. The racing itself looks and plays faultlessly and is accessible enough for beginners and non-F1 fans.
  28. 80
The dense career mode, weekly online events, and the upcoming inclusion of the 2019 F2 season will have me coming back to this game long after the official F1 season is over.
  29. Jun 28, 2019
A slick sequel with promising, if shallow, career mode improvements. But it’s moving in the right direction and not far off achieving elite status.
  30. Jun 28, 2019
Even though it’s just 10 months since F1 2018’s launch, F1 2019 feels like a step forward. It adds improved visuals, a beefed up online multiplayer component, and an enjoyable light story to a great base that already boasted phenomenal racing mechanics. It’s not perfect or a mind-blowing departure from the decade of games before it but it shows that Codemasters’ series is still improving each and every year.
  31. Jun 28, 2019
I’m inclined to call F1 2019 the most complete version of Codemasters’ series to date. The Career Mode has some good ideas and the inclusion of the new classic cars and the F2 cars add a bit of variety to the series. If you pay for something, however, you shouldn’t need to wait to unlock it. The AI can be a killer and racing online will have you weeding through some jobbers until you gain some experience on the Super License. Running at a silky smooth frame rate and capturing the sound of the cars while not having an overly-difficult handling model makes the core game the best that it will be this generation. F1 2019 is embracing the legacy of the sport and stays true to providing a true replication of Formula One.
  32. Jun 28, 2019
F1 2019 is solid, and the most complete entry in the series yet, but it could have become the best F1 simulator in history of video games if the developers would have taken full advantage of its potential.
  33. Jun 28, 2019
As a racing simulation, F1 2019 builds the perfect balance of a real-world racing experience and cultivating a budding racing career.
  34. Jun 27, 2019
As befits the official Formula One game, F1 2019 is certainly up there with the very best serious motorsport games. You won’t find one that looks better or provides more convincing car-handling, and yet its optional driver aids mean you don’t need to be as skilled as a real F1 driver to feel like the next Lewis Hamilton.
  35. Jun 25, 2019
While F1 2019 adds features from the all-time bucket list of many an F1 fan, these new additions aren’t quite fully formed yet. This still managed to be the best Formula 1 game by Codemasters to date – the handling of the F2 cars and new online modes are genre defining – but there is always scope for further improvements and some areas are now beginning to feel a little stale. Video gamers can be so demanding sometimes.
  36. Jun 24, 2019
F1 2019 is the best release in the series so far, but the iterative design of the franchise combined with Codemasters’ trademark care and attention for racing makes that perhaps unsurprising.
  37. Jun 24, 2019
F1 2019 does not offer groundbreaking innovations. It remains a solid approach to motorsport. Especially the addition of Formula 2, a modern multiplayer, and small surprises within the career mode make this the best edition in years.
  38. Jun 21, 2019
F1 2019 is an extremely rich and solid title, not without some small qualitative fluctuations.
  39. Jul 1, 2019
While an exciting sim on its own, F1 2019 does the bare minimum to qualify as a brand new outing. There are no breakthroughs this year, so unless you're a hardcore fan, those just looking for a great F1 racing experience can safely pit stop to last year's version.
  40. Jul 9, 2019
F1 2019 is a great game with solid presentation, smooth technical performance and tons of things to tinker with and drive through. However, it’s severely hurt by its moronic AI. Marrying more traditional video games sentiments to a simulation is always problematic. The thing is, Codemasters has no competition in the genre so there’s no outside pressure to improve on what they have been doing in the past. Emulating clean driving, especially from the AI’s side, isn’t impossible as Gran Turismo Sport did it in a very classy way. Maybe that’s something Codemasters should look into before rolling out F1 2020.
  41. 70
F1 2019 had the potential to finally bolster a career mode showing its age. Unfortunately, they make only a fleeting appearance with the real meat coming in their own standalone season. Driver transfers at least give the grid a sense of fluency and the on-track action remains solid. It looks great and polished but there's some missteps that make the new additions feel somewhat undercut.
  42. Jun 21, 2019
F1 2019 takes all the elements of the previous games and adds a very thin layer of polish. The introduction of F2 makes Career Mode a little more exciting, and the racing gameplay and graphics are still top notch, but there’s no getting away from the fact that this is really just F1 2018 again.
  43. Jun 28, 2019
F1 2019 isn’t really all that spectacular. The gameplay is mostly what you’d expect with the potential of an exhilarating moment here and there, but it wouldn’t be the first game I’d look to for a racing simulation experience. That being said, it is enjoyable and there is plenty to do, especially for those looking for a new racing game to pick up.

The introduction of F2 and a suite of small improvements elsewhere make for a thrillingly authentic take on motorsport's top-flight. [Eurogamer Recommended]

F1 2019 is the perfect video game for players who really enjoy motorsports gaming’s richest payoff.

Yes it's true this game is very similar to f1 2018, but that's not all really a bad thing. Graphics are much improved, so is story mode. AlsoYes it's true this game is very similar to f1 2018, but that's not all really a bad thing. Graphics are much improved, so is story mode. Also seems to have a better setup for esports. Ai is good not great, if you do some some strange manuver near them they dont know how to act. Only raiting as a 9 because they could have done more to make the game different. Full Review »

The AI is drastically improved from F1 2018. They seem much more aggressive and after 20 hours of play I've had numerous exciting races. TheThe AI is drastically improved from F1 2018. They seem much more aggressive and after 20 hours of play I've had numerous exciting races. The inclusion of F2 in career mode was a nice step forward in their attempt to make the experience more immersive. A really nice inclusion was the transfers of drivers from team to team. No longer do I have to see the same drivers with the same team over 5 seasons. It seems that Codemasters are really listening to their customers and doing the best they can to further develop the game to what people want. The only reason I give it a 9 out of 10 is because of the occasional glitch that undoes the amazing immersive experience of the game. All in all I highly recommend for anyone that enjoys racing sims.
