This is a fine update if you own the season pass, but you may want to skip it otherwise.
Even though this content is irrelevant for the story of the game, it offers quality content for the more creative players for the low price of 4.99€. This DLC is aimed at the players that love the homelike sensation and want to improve this feeling. The duration depends of how creative we are, but it can be a little repetitive after a couple of hours.

Cheap, and comes with plenty of nice little settlement add-on for five bucks. Don't see why people are sour about this too. People in the gaming community are like psychopathic girl friends (you do something wrong once and they hate you for life, in regards to the speech wheel and non-cod level graphics)

Since playing Minecraft and Terraria all I have ever wanted was those games but in a "real" universe. Settlements in Fallout.......I love it.....

A budget level DLC coming in at $4.99 adds enough to keep the settlement builder extremely engaged and experimenting. There are a few quirks to the DLC itself, and really should only be considered for those that want more of the things that made Hearthfire so attractive for Skyrim.
Players who haven't started (or finished) Fallout 4 yet will likely get more out of Wasteland Workshop than I did, but this content was too insubstantial to keep my attention for long.
If you’re all about settlement building then Wasteland Workshop will be right up your alley, but ultimately, these new additions aren’t going to change anyone’s mind who wasn’t already a fan.
As a product for humans though, I can't see Wasteland Workshop as anything but a bad buy. A cynical ploy to pad out the “value” of the Season Pass and maybe milk a few weirdos like me who just can't resist neon lights.
Bethesda has done another excellent job on this dlc, the second after the Automatron dlc. Not only does it add quite a few new items to the workshop but offers a whole new venue. You have the ability to create an arena where you can battle captured creatures, or your settlers. This new dlc offers many hours of playing to a huge game with a great price tag.

And it's been a nice little perk at that. I've been a big time waster in regards to settlements, and since we're all waiting for the MOD pack to build our own stuff (I'm reluctant to have to much optimism as to how well that will actually work on PS4 - but all the same) ... then having more items for the settlements is always welcome.
The new generator has made me rebuild ALL my existing settlements (about 18) - this has taken a good 13hours, so the DLC has paid for itself affectively just by me being anal with it. My main settlement, Castle, was previously 3 rows of wind generators to cover all the power needs (and I like to be Green with energy), the new generator does all of what they can in one, small piece. I'm loving it!
I've not successfully used the cages as yet. I've trapped people, but I'm still working out how to stage battles between captured animals /raiders etc. Keeping in line with the precision and frustration with building settlements, learning seems to be a hands on experience rather than coached through. But I dont mind spending time to figure it out.
I'm approaching 900hrs in total on FO4. It's an epic game on all levels and I'm loving the DLC thus far, given we've had the smaller instalments so far, I'm hopeful the new island with new enemies will be the 10/10 DLC pack we're all hoping for.
People who like this are those that are free-styling FO4 as I am, anyone looking to just finish all the quests and not play the game like a Sandbox openworld, well they probably won't appreciate or enjoy these sort of DLCs. Especially if you're not interested in settlement building.
For me, this has been great fun :)

This is the second piece of DLC for Fallout 4. Compared to Automatron this second dose of content is a lot smaller, however the price reflects this. My score reflects the expected amount and delivery of what I expected.
This package contains a lot of extra items to customise your settlements. If this is an attractive part of the Fallout 4 experience for you, then this DLC is essential. There are new lighting items, an excellent generator (which will save you lots of room, time and hassle) and other traps, building materials and neon signs.
If none of this appeals, what is left is the creature traps and the arena functionality. The traps work by placing them in your settlement, waiting a few days and opening the traps when the door is closed. That's that. Arena work by allocating settlers to one of two pads and then watch the ensuing battle. Fighting against creatures involves one pad for the humanoid character in an enclosed ring with a creature inside a trap. It all sounds relatively simple, except it isn't. This is why I docked the games points. The system is fiddly, the AI is frustrating and after getting one arena fight to work, I was relieved to leave this portion of the game, never to return. On attaining the trophy, only 0.1% of other players had achieved the same. I read this as, 0.1% could be bothered to get it to work as intended.
What I would have liked to have seen would have been extra things to do in the settlements. Give a wider variety of jobs, make allocating settlers easier, have a quick view of what each settler was doing with drop down menu's to change jobs on the fly. As it stands, the additional items and traps are welcome, but the arena is infuriating.
