Koei Tecmo's survival horror exits Wii U in order to land in many other platforms to make us experience something unforgettable. This game is not for any kind of player, but it will please enthusiasts of both Japanese horror as well as photography. Although it may be a bit complex to play, the rhythm of game is pretty fluid.

A worthy entry for fans of the series, this might very well win over some new ones. It’s a solid reminder of what makes Project Zero so unique and appealing. [Issue#8, p.85]

Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water is a welcome remaster and it’s great to see this game reach the wider audience it deserves. I’d definitely recommend picking this up if you’re a series fan, or are interested in what makes it so unique, but it shows its ages and loses some of what made it such a good fit for the Wii U. Whilst by no means a damp squib, this remaster doesn’t quite get you soaked with excitement.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is clearly a game from another generation. There is a lot here that the series still does well, particularly when it comes to setting and story. However, years don't come alone, and the quality of this remastered, along with the game's control problems of controls, really make the experience less interesting.

As should probably be expected of what’s basically a port of the Wii U version, this iteration of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water offers a decidedly average horror experience. The story of Mt. Hikami and those tied to it is rather intriguing, and it is able to create a heavy, disquieting and even chilling atmosphere at times.

The ABC of horror games is that they tend to be frightening, but Maiden of Black Water is not only true to that, but also fails to stand up to Fatal Frame name and delivers a simple, average experience on every level.

Finally Fatal Frame can be enjoyed by more people from different platform, a very good thing considering it's the most scary games you'll ever played.

It has that old Japanese horror movie kind of feel. It's not really scarry, though there are a few spooky moments on each level. Graphics might not be the best, but they're good enough for this kind of game and don't ruin the experience. All these books and notes you can find and read contribute a lot to the atmosphere. Oh, and you also have to do some fighting here and there, so the game is not just about exploration. Expand

You should buy this game **only** if you really want to play for the first time and don't have a Wii U at your hands. Otherwise, you can skip and save some cash for better games. Expand
