With a few decent plot twists and likeable characters, Gal*Gun 2 is a satisfying relationship comedy with a solid rail shooter at its core. With multiple endings and dozens of girls to meet there’s a robust amount of content, never falling for the trap of offering just a handful of missions with no reason to come back after a couple of hours. As games about supernatural romance go, it will be difficult to find one cuter or sweeter than this one.

Gal Gun 2 is a special game, in the way that it’s all about half-naked girls moaning every single time they appear on screen. But curiously, it’s kind of fun and there are some good ideas in it.

Gal*Gun 2 feels the same as its predecessors with its visual novel style and its rail shooter gameplay with students that do not wear many clothes. This game is for a very specific group of players.

Gal Gun 2 is not an original game but a non-VR version of GAL*Gun VR, with the addition of a story mode, but the controls and gameplay mechanics are not adapted to a 2D TV screen game. Disappointing.

If you're some sort of incel who finds underage anime girls enticing then by all means, give Gal Gun 2 a try. However, if you simply want an enjoyable arcade shooting experience then you're better off looking elsewhere.

Gal*Gun 2 will once again grab the headlines for all the wrong reasons, but what those will fail to tell you is that the underlying experience isn’t worth any sort of price to begin with. Once the perverse novelty wears off, you’re left with a bare-bones shooter that sorely needs to come off the rails it is tied to if it wants to create any excitement.

Gal*Gun 2 does a fair share of work to add to this, both by refusing to shy away from its preferred social poison, and by refusing to compromise the innate game to accomplish it.

Gal*Gun 2 is an primarily an On-Rails shooter game. It involves blasting cute girls with a cursor until they keel over in ecstasy. There are additional modes and your avatar can be moved a bit. You can decide on costumes, choose which missions to undertake, and pursue romance routes with various heroines. The graphics and sounds are good too.

However, Gal*Gun 2's greatest gameplay feature is adaptive difficulty.

Anyone who can move a cursor around the screen and press the X button can play Gal*Gun 2. At its core, the game is very simple. Girls each possess one of 4 weakspots - head, chest, torso or legs. If you aim for these you'll KO the girl in one hit. But even if you don't, you can spam shots and girls will go down in just a couple hits.

The game is complicated by the appearance of miniature demons. They too can be shot, and vacuumed up to raise the score. Between shooting girls and shooting demons, you have pretty much covered Gal*Gun 2, but like all fine on-rails shooters, the HELL is in the details.

The game keeps track of how many enemies you've managed to one-hit KO since you last took damage. This is your Combo score. As your combo score gets higher, tougher and tougher enemies appear. The longer you go without taking damage, and the more perfectly you play, the more the game throws at you. While virtually every stage can be safely cleared by cursoring every foe and mashing the X button, your score will reflect the occasional damage you're taking - high value enemies just won't appear.

Between understanding the mechanical nuances of the shooting, exploring the fanservice elements of the game, and trying to perfect each "route", Gal*Gun 2 is a game that seduces you into trying to perfect it.

It's very well made. I am fully aware that the topic matter will be more than enough to level plenty of self-serving, negative reviews... I for one don't play Grand Theft Auto, despite being aware what a great series of games it is, because I can't tolerate that level of violence. Fan service games are their own genre, and should be measured as such on the merits of the offering.

Gal*Gun 2 delivers, by hosting the fan service without losing the gameplay.

If you like your fan service games to be about panties and collecting girls, then this is the one you want.

If you like your fan service games to be about panties and collecting girls, then this is the one you want.

I was a little disappointed in Gal Gun Double Peace on PS4. Besides the story, it is identical in every way to the original Gal Gun game. But for Gal Gun 2, we get different mechanics and updated graphics. Gal Gun 2 no longer feels like playing an upscaled vita game.

Like in the previous games, you move through the story while being attacked by nearly every girl in the school via their confessions of love for you. You shoot them with your angel-provided cupid-like powers, which basically makes them orgasm and pass out. Or new for this game: you could also suck their clothes off with your angel vacuum gun (when sufficiently upgraded). You'll also be using your vacuum gun to suck up cute little demons, which make girls much stronger if they're attached to them.

Missions include going place to place while shooting all girls along the way, protecting girls from little demons teleporting in, searching areas for items, shooting various parts of a girl to extract demons (and clothes) from her, and boss fights. There's also special story-related stages that are a little different.

The movement stages are different this time around. You're stuck in one spot and can't move to the next spot until all girls have been taken out. The boss fights are more simplistic this time around: each one is basically the same fight with minor differences. Also, the special story stages are much less involved. So overall, the gameplay is less interesting and easier, but it isn't bad.

The story is silly, but good, and works like a dating game. There's three main girls and a couple of endings for each. Also, none of the endings rely on your conversation options, which could be good or bad depending on what you like.

The panty variety is great. You get bikini cuts and full cuts. And within those, you get plain and two types of lace (which are unfortunately just flat textures. Most girls change their panties every day, so you'll get a different pattern or color on the next day. There's also a good variety of socks, pantyhose, and thigh-highs. There's not much for breast lovers since they're almost always covered. It's too bad, since the girls wear matching bras.

Costume variety is okay, but could have been much better. I supposed they've saved the good costumes for DLC.

I'm happy to report that the number of polygons in the girls' rears have been increased since the last game. They're also nicely shaped, being not too small or flat. Some variety in rear-end sizes would have been great, but I'm happy with what we got.

Collecting girls involves getting their phone numbers, which you get from completing side missions. Call them any time to talk to them or look at them. Conversation is limited, but they do say interesting things if you stare at certain body parts for too long. There's not much interaction you can do with them. After giving them enough candy (obtained via mission rewards), you can look at them from all angles, make them do one of about 10 pre-set poses, or suck their clothes off, which always results in them becoming angry with you.

I wish there was more, but at least this game was released before Sony went on its censorship rampage. What we got here likely wouldn't be allowed on Sony platforms these days.

I don't like the game's repetitiveness, which becomes apparent after one full playthrough. If you want to get all of the girls' phone numbers or get all of the endings, you'll be doing a lot of replaying of the same missions. There's not enough variety in missions to keep them interesting for 3+ plays. Also, there aren't separate save slots, so you can't return to a previous save after getting an ending: you must start from the beginning each time.

So yeah, great game. And even if you don't like staring at panties, the premise alone should be enough to keep you entertained for a while.

    Repetive Nonsense
Gal Gun 2 Is a bit of an on rails shooter. Youre the lucky chosen one to receive a head set that allows you to see angels and demons, youre given a quote by an elite angel named risu to capture a bunch of demons be a certain date…
These demons are possessing the ladies around your school.. and for you to capture these demons and save these ladies you have to give them euphoria with your pheromone shot…
    Sounds a bit weird..
But my biggest complaint with this game is that it actually doesn’t get weird enough…
This game is split up into a bunch of different missions..
    though they all feel identical
ladies are coming at you from wall to wall and your goal is to choot them in their weak spot as they try to knock you down and hurt you with hteir words, racking up as many points as possible to unlock the next mission…
the weak spot is different.. though im sure you could imagine where these spots are spread across,
and again some will try to hurt you with their words so you have to shoot the red character before it gets to you as it is possible to die and have to restart from a checkpoint…
some ladies will be glowing purple.. this means theyre possessed by demons.. you have to shoot these demons away before you can hit their weakspots and then suck the demons up to increase your score..
and in between all of this you can get these 2 love interests to talk to you and spend time with you by giving them snacks rewarded from completing missions, much like real women.
    this is the entire game..
and theres nothing done here to keep you hooked..
this is an onrails shoot so oyu basically shoot towards your position, but every area feels like the last area..
nothing is done to make you feel like youre getting away with something naughty which lets be honest… that’s the only reason anyone would play such a game..
its just a pointless level of weird…
im getting called master by some angel girl, im shooting ladies that are just trying to love me.. getting yelled at for being naughty with my massage technicques..
but the game really does no teasing, at least not frequent enough.. theres no pay off for continiuing through this game..
its just a repetitive and dull on rails shooter where all you do is give snacks and make girls blush that im going to assume are all in college, japan is weird I don’t know and don’t want to think about it any further than this.
    I give Gal Gun 2
    a 4/10
