Jun 1, 2015A lot of the pieces in this elaborately crafted game of chess are finally starting to move towards what can only end up being quite spectacular climaxes. Oh, and it feels damn good to finally fight back.
-
May 28, 2015The team at Telltale Games has done a spectacular job of creating a compartmentalised story that runs parallel to the books and show that fans know so well.
-
May 28, 2015Nicole Martinez and Brad Kane clearly care a lot about this world, and with episode four, they’ve introduced a lot of critical momentum to the season that makes it feel like the series has turned a corner.
-
May 29, 2015Game of Thrones: Episode 4 - Sons of Winter is another enjoyable interactive experience from Telltale Games.
-
Jun 1, 2015Sons of Winter maintains the good form of the previous episode by unloading plenty of tension, drama and action along the way. Roll on episode five.
-
May 29, 2015There's hope for the Forrester family, but their nightmare is not over yet. The fourth episode of Game of Thrones titled Sons of Winter, brings us some of the most critical moments that we have lived in the game thanks to an excellent script.
-
May 28, 2015Despite these shortcomings, Game of Thrones: Episode 4 – Sons of Winter is still an enjoyable experience. While I left the episode feeling like all the choices I had made were, and still are, essentially worthless, I also wanted to dive right into Episode 5.

Playstation Official Magazine UKJul 17, 2015Those plot threads need weaving together soon, lest our interest run out before winter arrives. [Aug 2015, p.90]
-
Jun 22, 2015The overall arc of the season remains unclear and it’s too early to tell if the whole shebang is worth playing. Unfortunately, Telltale are either resting on their laurels or have committed to too many projects - or perhaps both. Game of Thrones continues to suffer as a result, it’s dour atmosphere and familiar mechanics only enticing to huge fans of George R. R. Martin’s world.
-
Jun 2, 2015It may be a fixed narrative with little alterations, but it’s still an interesting narrative, but should that fail at any point than this entire castle built by Telltale may collapse.
-
May 29, 2015However, Sons of Winter is certainly a more enjoyable episode than the previous two, with some decent character development. It often gets to the point much quicker with a lot less filler in between, while also taking characters to new places and surprising you along the way as we head towards the series’ conclusion.
-
May 28, 2015Game of Thrones: Episode 4 - Sons of Winter doesn't hit quite the same highs as its immediate predecessor – but it's likely to prove the most impactful instalment to date.
-
Games Master UKAug 18, 2015While enjoyable enough on its own terms, Game of Thrones is starting to feel uncomfortably like a Telltale B-side. [Summer 2015, p.81]

-
Jun 1, 2015Telltale’s Game of Thrones series, now over halfway through its first season, has been a huge disappointment so far, but it’s been improving steadily, and Episode Four – Sons of Winter proves there’s real potential in the concept, even if Telltale might not have been the right candidate for the job.
