Jurassic World Evolution takes the true theme of the film franchise and recreates it in a splendid park sim that gives players the power to create their own theme parks full of dangerous dinosaurs. What could go wrong?

I must say I really enjoyed building and running my own Jurassic World park. It's not perfect, and certainly given the heritage of the developer in theme park games we possibly could have expected a bit more from it, but you just never know what DLC and the ongoing development promised of the game might bring.

Frontier Developments offers an entertaining title under a graphic aspect perfectly linked with the reality of the dinosaurs. The amount of species to discover add much attraction and the possibility of visiting the park in third person is all a success, although those who aren’t lovers of the gender can find it boring and repetitive.

Jurassic World Evolution may not be the deepest management sim ever, but it embraces its subject matter with gusto.

A simple park simulation game, with good graphics. A bit too easy, it's good for Jurassic Park's series fans.
  6. 70
Jurassic World Evolution isn't exactly a great park management sim. It's light on far too many of its facets, bringing a lopsided feel to its structure. Even so, the relative accessibility of the game and the attention given to the dinosaurs make up for most of the issues. The ride is enjoyable enough, but the lack of sim depth makes this a bit of a toothless attraction.

Ultimately, Jurassic World Evolution feels built largely for the film franchise's biggest fans. Which is to say, for those who will be so giddily distracted by the ability to drive alongside dinosaurs, snapping pictures, that they won't mind that the simulation options offered up only go skin deep.

A game who is honoring the Jurassic Park Franchise !

It has been a long time since, I wasn't this addicted to a game.

This is an excellent game, to make it simple : you got a city-builder with a lot of options at your disposal (managing store prices, upgrades your buildings etc...) very complete...

And the aspect of a Zoo Tycoon but with Dinosaurs, where you have to care of your little incubated creatures (handle their thirst & foods, heal them if they contract diseases, and
a very advance environment setup, specific dinausors will need more space or grass than other etc... you have to accommodate their needs.

I'm also in love, that you are able to play as a ranger and drive the jeep (give you even more immersion),
you can yourself complete task such as refill foods supplies, so cool !

The game even have a photo mode for the dinosaurs fanatics !

Absolutely to recommend, finally a game who is worthy of the Jurassic World Evolution title ! just perfect 10 at of 10

Everyone should admit that jurassic world evolution (JWE) offer a very new ancient tycoon simulator experience to all JP & dino lovers.Everyone should admit that jurassic world evolution (JWE) offer a very new ancient tycoon simulator experience to all JP & dino lovers. compared to its predecessor (jurassic park : operation genesis) & any other JP games, JWE's graphic, gameplay, dinos, & even the visitors behaviour has been massively overhauled to offer greater satisfying & real jurassic park impression. I admit, JWE has a lot of chance & spot to improve its gameplay deepthness on its sequel (if any). so far, im so satisfied with the current game form (consider there is no other game which offer similiar magnificence ancient creature tycoon like JWE! good work!

this 10/10 review is nothing but to raise a change of frontier to make a game sequel (well, if any),
i really appreciate & so glad that this game has been made. frontier has a lot of chance to improve & it can be applied on the JWE's sequel! but at least the current game foundation has been strong entertaining enough (current JWE).

several things that i think should be & can be improved was :
    1. there is no access & any additional features for all guest related building, what we can do is only build it (or demolish it to earn some money) & see it attract the visitors (visitors come & by), thats all. well at least i expect we can see the guest related building door opens when the visitors come by, but this is not (visitors come through a passive doors). very lack of depthness,

well you can clearly see 2 things
    a. frontier doesnt concern on those detail so deep (the whole game graphic is the higher target)
    b. frontier has lack of time on thinking about the building operational details

    2. We have no acces to see how viewing vents looks like. in JPOG, we can click the viewing vent & see how we can view the dinos as if we are the visitors, its beautiful & show how decent our viewing vent as a connector of the visitors to see the dinos.

Same with the transportation train, it would be so new & beautiful if we can see how it looks like from the inside of the train while its moving around the park,

well im so sad that this kind of basic things is lack on the game,
please, you build a viewing facility but know nothing how it looks like, i mean, how is my dinos looks like from that viewing vent, i dont know. but i build it & pretending that view has been satisfying enough for the visitors.

    3. i bet a lot of JPOG fans think about this. well on its high end jurassic world game version, we hope there will be an aerial & aquatic dinos (alongside with its related park facility). but yeah, it havent happened yet. seems like frontier cannot release a bigger effort for it (i dont know why). if there is, it would be fantastic (since it might be the 1st game that consider about the aerial & aquatic dinos).

well it just my big dream,
at least so far JWE has offer remarkable overhaul on the JP's tycoon simulator game.

while playing this game, i feel my dream on seeing a new model of a JPOG's game has been come true. but at the same time, JWE's still left some missing things which make me keep dreaming about it.

It looks and sounds just like the Jurassic movies. Only thing holding it from a perfect score is the wonky building placement and no random generated islands. Other then that this is the Jurassic game every fan of the series, or dinosaurs for that matter, should own! Expand

once i figured out how to play like a sane person it is so much fun! dinos are great park building is fun.

big draw backs are, its annoying to get your buildings where you want to and can make you real dizzy trying to get your support people to help without knowledge of the hot keys. L1 R1. even so it still can take your head for a whirl and isn't as fast as it could be,

big pros, dino are fun, amazing to see people walking around the park. not that many options for buildings but enough. love the ability to tranq your own dinos too.

great fun but could use a little more tlc for gameplay.

Blending fantastic game design with the aesthetics of a franchise we all know and love, Jurassic World Evolution is one of the most addicting games I've played all year, taking the old Zoo Tycoon formula and reinventing it into a formula that's both fun and incredibly investing. However, a few major issues get in the way of complete enjoyment, such as needing to rebuild the same buildings over and over again to access integral functions every time you start a new island. So like many of you i was a HUGE fan of JPOG and was super excited when JW Evolution first previewed almost a year ago.

I played for a solid 4-5 hours last night and this would be my immediate feedback.

I've only played the first island as I want to learn as much as I can about the mechanics of the game before moving onto more difficult environments, so yes the tutorial island can be a bit dull, however, I haven't been bored just yet.

Graphics are amazing, the dinosaurs look incredible! Its a kind of trail by error introduction to the game, although, you get the hang of things pretty quickly.

Yes, they park management could be a little more involved. You should be able to set prices for admission, stays at the hotel, there should be bathrooms and benches and water features etc. to be able to make it your own (I'm hoping FD hear's this and this is added later).

Little things like how the goat doesn't try to run away right before being eaten by a carnivore or when you drive the jeep into a crowd nothing happens, this is an annoyance and the power grid system is a bit confusing to learn at first.

For the people who complain about the length it takes to acquire dino dna, JPOG was very similar so I don't know why this is such an issue to some of you? Also, do you want to be able to create all the dinosaurs quickly? I feel like that would be anti-climatic? You have to keep on top of your expeditions and ensure they are always off getting new fossils, I wish there was a way to set this automatically until the site has been depleted?

The same thing can be said for research, you want to ensure you're always on top of this.

I like the missions and different divisions to keep happy, adds some variety to the experience.

The dinosaurs DO keep you busy though as your park expands (disease, reloading feeders, deaths, etc.)

Overall, the game is solid, its not perfect, but I'm sure this was pushed to come out to coincide with JW Fallen Kingdom and hopefully FD will continue to build and enhance and listen to us fans.

Score a bit low. but this game is frustratingly disappointing.

Great visually, great choice of dinosaur. But come on, it's dinosaurs, was always going to be popular based on that alone.

As a park creation and simulation, it's terrible - Not much choice of building, no decorative options to make parks unique, too much micro managing of menial jobs (Seriously, if it was a real park and I had rangers sitting on their ass until I physically told them to go and feed the animals, every. single. time, I would fire their ass)

Speaking of food, the dinosaurs eat a lot and don't poop at all. Theres no interaction with customers at all, don't hear their views, opinions, what they like, what they don't blah blah blah

And the different divisions are nonsense, they contradict themselves and just seem thoughtlessly thrown in to give the game "Missions".

Sending expeditions and harvesting fossils is dull and too easy - also, where are the baby dinosaurs?

    Dinosaurs have no personalities whatsoever.

I don't feel like i'm running a Dinosaur zoo at all as the managerial side of things is so thin.

In my opinion, it feels lazy as the developers know it will sell for the fact it has dinosaurs

Notable other nonsense in the game: Shops can only sell 1 item at a time, WTF? the enclosures are not advanced at all (grass, trees, water - done), flocking dinosaurs don't flock, Visitors are so dull and insignificant I forget they are there
