While it misses some of the best features from its predecessors, Just Cause 4 is a captivatingly fun experience, with enough new mechanics to be a staple for action fans.

Just Cause 4 is neither a revolution nor a weak entry in the series, but it is actually the most complete Just Cause title yet. JC4 gathers everything positive from the previous games, adds some other things on top of that, and despite a repetitive gameplay and some story telling issues, still manages to at least satisfy the fans of the series.

Just Cause 4 feels uninspired and lacks anything new and exciting enough to keep players hooked. While the moment to moment gameplay is fun and refined, the lack of variety in both setting and structure makes the game fade into the background in a year packed with so many impressive titles.

Just Cause 4 is a big, dumb and lovely action game that offers hours of great entertainment for those willing to look past its blemishes and technical faults.

Just Cause 4's traversal system can be wonderfully entertaining, and the chaotic, explosion-sim physics in play are frequently exhilarating, but they're manacled to a game that has absolutely no idea how best to use them. What's the point in giving players an array of tools that lets them cause wanton destruction on a gargantuan scale, and then designing a campaign full of drab, copy-pasted missions that barely require you to use them? It's a bit like getting the coolest BMX on the market for Christmas, but then your Mum tells you you're only allowed to ride it around the garden where she can keep an eye on you. Cheers, Mum.

It doesn't matter how cool an individual set piece looks if all the smaller scenes leading up to it are marred by unresponsive vehicles, dumb AI, and shoddy physics.

Main story is great, with some twists and jokes.
Game loading times between scenes and missions are several times faster than Just Cause 3.

Side missions may seem a bit confusing at first, but the game navigates the player so cleverly between side and main missions that it comes as a seamless transition from side to main missions.
Personal opinion about gear mods - glad they are removed them and only three options with various optimizations are available. Mods in Just Cause 3 made the player to grind the side missions. If not, the player would not have the grappling hook and other mods that made the game hard to beat.
    Explosions - fabulous.
    Voice acting - fantastic.

I just love Just Cause game series and I hope for two things:
    1. That developers understand clearly what is wrong with this game (obviously the graphics and glitches that are more expected at beta version of the game, not the finished product)
    2. That Just Cause 5 will see the light in a few years and that developers would not be scared of bad reviews.

    To other critics:
Let me tell you the most important thing. Game industry is a business. Someone has to remind you that. And here I am.

I am sure all this "unfinished product" situation happened because Avalanche and Square Enix found themselves in uncomfortable position -- many great games recently released, the launch date already official, all guidelines to publish the game to PS Store passed, and then there is Christmas time coming with lots of kids, teenagers and adults -- a wide variety -- of people waiting for something to buy as a gift.

I am pretty sure almost everyone would do the same thing and would release a product that needs finishing touches with a promise to patch the game in couple of weeks instead of missing an opportunity to sell more copies of the game in Christmas time.

Therefore, I don't see why this game should have worse reviews than previous games. When developers release the fix for the problems, not many of the reviewers would change their score, just because they already have their feelings hurt... And most of these reviews would not reflect the true value of the game.

apart from that the whole game just involves blowing s*** up every mission is always the same blow this up and advance, blow this up and advance.

and whoever designed the camera tracking for this needs to be FIRED!! no matter what vehicle your in eventually the cam will move to the side of you and track your side it hardly ever stays at the front!

the wing suit is even worse try to turn in the damn thing and you'll be sorry you'll end up going upside down and crashing into a cliff.

the gfx are so bad too it looks like a 2000 game the character models look like they have just thrown some paint onto a low poly model that's how bad they look.

if you must plat this get it on the pc stay away from the console version!!

I wasn't expecting Arkham Knight levels of visuals but come on, it should at least look as good as the last game in the series, right? It's nowhere close. Oh and confusing menus, weird gameplay loops, destructables respawning; this is literally the game that no Just Cause fan asked for.
